are you scared?
like does any situation scare you?
I live in the hood. Not too bad in my city, but when i lived in a huge city - i lived in the hood there too. Gun shots, muggings, stabbings, blah blah blah. I didn't care - I went about my business like normal.
BUT ... when I'm home alone at night, to this day, I'm afraid the girl from The Ring is going to crawl out of my television.

I am always scared when I am home alone. I truly believe my house is haunted.0

Yep, I've watched them all. They only helped to increase my fear.0 -
It varies with me, but on some nights I am extremely scared of the dark. To make a trip to the bathroom, I have to flip on the lights in the hallway and outer bathroom. Then once I'm done, I wash my hands and dash past each light switch, hitting them really fast before getting to my room which is like.. three feet away.0

I think my house is haunted too. In the basement there is wine cellar. It has one of those small wooden doors that is pointy at the top. It's basically a hole the previous owner dug out from under the porch where he would make wine (he was from Portugal). Anyway, I think he buried his wife in there. She was always mysteriously "missing" when we went to look at the house. And I think she haunts us. I bought the house anyway, I am a sucker for large kitchens and good closet space.0

Haha... sorry, but you sound like mt daughter. We have an alarm system and two big dogs. If the wife and I go out and leave her home alone (she is 17) she will flip on every light in the house and turn on every tv in the house until we get home. We can see the house a mile away from all the light coming out of it.0 -

I am exactly the same!
Do rational things scare me? No.
Do irrational things scare me? Yes!0 -
I have lived in some pretty sketchy neighborhoods and it has never bothered me, I found as long as I stayed in my own little world everything was good.
Being home alone doesn't bother me at all, but I read a book one time where a guy was hiding in the back seat of a girls car... and now if I go to a vehicle - with friends or a lone the first thing I do is check the back seat through the window.
Funny thing is one time I came out of a night shift and found someone sleeping in the backseat of my jeep... I just stood there and called the cops but it freaked me right the hell out... he was homeless and cold and the door to my jeep didn't lock so he just crawled in lol, he was pretty harmless but in the middle of the super early morning its kind of creepy.0 -
I'm terrified to walk alone at night. Which is awful cause I get most motivated to run when I'm supposed to be sleeping! Maybe it's just being a girl, nothing scares me more than being by myself because I have these nasty visions of being kidnapped/raped/murdered/etc. Too many crime shows!
I also can't close my eyes in the shower. :P0 -
Great thing about The Strangers is that it is very plausible.0

maybe we should change our viewing habits. Actually did this and stress level dropped dramatically0

Who is it exactly you are giving the finger to in your picture? :huh:0

My brother (who thankfully will never read this or he would kill me) is that way. He is 26 almost 27 with a 7 year old daughter and EVERY stinkin light in the house is on all the damn time lol living with him almost killed me because I never have the lights turned on when I am at home.. I have the TV and thats it.0 -
Im never scared to be in the house by myself or go outside alone. i think i like the thrill of it. im wierd0

I do this, and keep both my dogs and my cat with me whenever I'm home alone. If I have to spend the night alone, I will invite my 17 year old cousin to come sleep over. Oh, and I sleep with the hall light on.0 -
the one place I am NOT afraid is at home. Yes. as females we are vulnerable and of course I'm scared in some situations. Facing your fear and doing what you fear are earmarks of courage and help you grow as an individual.
I NEVER let fear define me and I hope I never will - It also helps if you learn to defend yourself and kick at least one man-*kitten*. Then you know you CAN if you have to - I recommend this - ESPECIALLY if you're fearful
(I learned self defense from a Marine/husband who kicked my butt regularly. one day I turned the tables on him & when he didn't pay child support, I took it out on LOTS of low lifes in Hamilton bars. I would drink tequila shots & pick fights with men in bars. NOT the best way to meet guys but it does wonders for your self confidence and independence)0 -

Can you be my hero? :P ♥0 -
My craving for pizza is scares me.
Actually, I don't frighten easily but my 18 year old daughter swears our house is haunted. We have a tri-level house and she will not sleep in her room downstairs. She is always upstairs (where our room is) on the couch. Dolls and music boxes give her the creeps too.0 -
I live in constant fear that my man boobs will find me again and sneak up while I am sleeping and jump back on my chest....0

My brother made 'the ring' the screensaver of our computer one night after I went to bed. (He had been making fun of me and my sister for being scared of that movie for a month or so at this point)
I was always the first one up to get ready for school and I had to walk past the computer to get to the bathroom. I thought my heart was going to stop when I saw it, and I screamed bloody murder! Somehow, I knew right away it was my brother's doing, so I marched into his room (at 5am), flipped on his light, yanked the pillow out from under his head and started beating the **** out of him with it.
He didn't even open his eyes, he just laughed at me. *kitten*.0 -

Oh my god I thought I was just weird. I can't close my eyes in the shower either. Years ago my ex bf actually snuck into the shower with me while I was washing my hair and when I opened my eyes he was right there in my face. He wasn't trying to scare me, and I laugh about it now, but at the time I screamed and fell backwards like I was being attacked. Then I cried like a little girl. SOOO embarrassing...0 -

^This also.
I said in a previous post somewhere that I've wanted to try those little sleep thingies that you wear over your eyes to keep the sunlight out.. but that I was kinda scared that I wouldn't see someone sneaking up on me.. ready to murder the holy hell outta me. XD I watch too many crime shows so I kinda blame that irrational 'gonna get murdered/kidnapped' fear on that.0 -
I watched DeVour while on Ambien, I have a fear that I cannot shake that the weird creature/Devil thing is in my basement. I don't even HAVE a basement right now.0

For all the people scared in the shower...this is for you.
