I am always scared when I am home alone. I truly believe my house is haunted.
I grew up in a haunted house. My mom still lives there, It has a man and a woman in it for sure. there are so many stories I could tell most of which involve rocking chairs moving, doors shutting, things scraping across the floor - like a chair, I woke up one night and they were standing in my door way just watching me, lights have never turned on or off but ever now and then you can hear voices.
Things have been fixed - when my mom and dad were still together the bathroom door was effed... it wouldnt close so my mom constantly complained about it needing to be fixed, my dad would always say "yeah tomorrow", one day my mom was in the living room vacuuming and she heard the door open, than close, than open, than close and then foot steps down to the basement. She didn't think much of it and went about her business, than she went out to the kitchen and the door was closed properly, and it was fixed - the hinges were tightned and everything. My dad was at the shop and no where near the house, by brothers and I were at school and my mom was no where near the bathroom.
My friends would never stay over night because it freaked them out... well all but one friend and thats because her house was haunted too.0 -
I bet you're scared now...
MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!0 -
I'm terrified of the house catching on fire, and that a spider will get on me while I sleep.0

You know how many spiders you've eaten in your sleep in your lifetime?0 -
like does any situation scare you?
I live in the hood. Not too bad in my city, but when i lived in a huge city - i lived in the hood there too. Gun shots, muggings, stabbings, blah blah blah. I didn't care - I went about my business like normal.
BUT ... when I'm home alone at night, to this day, I'm afraid the girl from The Ring is going to crawl out of my television.
The Strangers was a bit disturbing, but I kept yelling at the movie (in my head) "You have a f'n gun...sit in the room in with your back in the corner & shoot whoever comes through the door!"0 -

Yes, I know. I don't think about it. It has to get on me first. That scares me.0 -
I have to sleep with my blankets covering everything except my head. I get freaked out if I wake up and my feet are out of the blankets. LOL oh! and I have a nightlight... =p0

I believe my house is haunted by a woman, though I have never seen her it's just the vibe I get. My theory is she seems to get really upset whenever my fiancé is away for work and that's when things start happening: lights turn on, doors lock, people scream, my dogs freak out, you can hear footsteps upstairs... It makes me nervous just thinking about it.
Edit: And I refuse to set up any cameras in my house because in the Paranormal Activity movies that's when things got REALLY bad. Also, I believe it is my friend's fault this ghost is here, as one day she came over and told us about how she thinks a ghost has been staying around her (much more detail just too long to write) and every time it's around her Dream On by Aerosmith comes on the radio. Not even a minute after we walked into my house that damn song came on, any time we talk about it that song comes on.0 -
Stephen King has this one short story about a finger coming up out of the drain in this guy's bathroom sink. It just pokes it's fingertip out and wiggles at him. He goes insane trying to get rid of it.
I have since translated that horrible idea into a fear that a hand will grab me from beneath when I am sitting on the toilet. During the daytime, I can resist thinking of this, but at 2am, in the dark, it freaks me OUT.
Damn you Stephen King....0 -

I read my first SK book when I was 9 years old (Eyes of the Dragon). He has given me so many nightmares and phobias over the years. Love him! It's always something weird, too. And completely irrational. Eyes of the Dragon made me think I was being watched for YEARS. I still wonder lol.0 -
Something lives in my house besides me and my family :-S0

My boyfriend works out of town one night a week and I find myself staying up half the night cuz as long as I'm watching TV or messing around on the computer I'm ok. Once it's time to go to bed tho I do get freaked out. I also believe that my house is haunted, we heard knocking noises coming from our kitchen and our TV in our basement comes on by itself in the middle of the night. I've seen all the scary movies and I no longer watch them or let them be watched in my house lol. My bf wanted to go see The Devil Inside and I told him to find someone else to go with0

Fellow hood rat. I love my city even if I do live in the dodgy end.
I pass by whinos and psychos and tranny hookers carrying switchblades on a daily basis. No problem.
But when it's just rained and worms come out all over the sidewalks? Hate that!!0 -
Okay, I'm hoping someone will know what I'm talking about here. When I was pretty young, I watched a B horror film. I believe it was a haunted house. In one scene, a girl is taking a bath, and the bath water turns into acid. I was (secretly. I knew it was stupid lol) terrified of baths and showers until I was probably 25 years old. I finally "outgrew" it.
I have been trying to remember the name of that movie for so, so long. Anyone?
Never mind, I think I found it. Slaughter High. Not 100%, but I think that's it.0 -
I get scared when I spend the night in a hotel.. I always always always check around for cameras.... LOL
I am also scared for the person who might enter my house if I am home alone. Because he or she would not make it back out.

I get scared when I'm on the toilet doing #2 that someone is going to break into my house and I'm not going to know what to do. Finish or clean up really quick and hide?0

The only Stephen King book that ever scared me was 'Salem's Lot. My bed was right next to the window in my room and I was terrified that I'd look out and see a vampire floating out there. I didn't sleep very well for about 2 weeks.0 -
Pretty much just that my kids will do something stupid(er). :ohwell:0

Long drawn out story:
Several years ago my wife and I watched The Grudge - blah blah blah.
That is one movie I have never been able to bring myself to watch. Hubby bought me The Grudge (but the Japanese one) on DVD about four Christmasses ago, it's still sitting on the shelf LOL. The other movie I am having a difficult job at getting into the DVD player is Insidious.
I'll pluck up the courage one of these days and watch both
Both of those movies are actually pretty lame. They just have a bunch of the jump out and startle you crap that isn't scary but makes you jump and scream........ in a manly fashion.0 -
My son, then aged three, once came out with a long statement as we passed some flowers about the flowers in the church a long time ago when he was in the box and the mummy he'd had before was crying and crying.0

Only thing I'm scared of is dolls. And not like creepy Chuckie dolls....those disgusting nice looking ones...and barbies.....terrified of those things. Otherwise nope.0

My only fears are loosing any of my family, and never getting to the end of my weight loss journey. Its taking too long! X0

I think my biggest fear is getting diagnosed with a serious illness. My SIL recently got diagnosed with MS, so sad.0

bahahahaha
I am not a jumpy person. People actually get annoyed when they try to get a laugh by startling me-- it never works. I roll my eyes or raise my eyebrow. However... scenes from "Signs" haunted me for YEARS. I finally saw the movie again.. it wasn't scary the second time and that seems to have cured me. I still get freaked out when I'm alone, unlocking the front door and the creepy break-in scene from "Unbreakable" flashes through my head, though. That's pretty much it.0
