I am so far behind, and have to skip the pages when there is a flashy thing in them due to migraine makers for me!
Jeannie-- I removed my flashy thing on the bottom just for you-- never let it be said that I caused somebody a migraine. Me? I'm the good one--
You sure are Marla. And because it is Easter I will all you
A good Egg!!
Did somebody say egg?
Behold my family's bounty this day--
and only one sonic boom from yours truly (surely felt where you are) when I'd had one too many,"(GASP) Mom, did you hear what she just said to me?"
"ENOUGH-- STOP BICKERING OR GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN!!"
All in all, better than most years--0 -
Too funny, Jeannie-- :laugh:0

Here ya go...after Easter Vigil Mass....0

PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Marla - That is a lot of eggs! Luckily I don't have 9 kids. I'd buy 1 dozen eggs and say "You each get one. Don't break it. There are only 3 extras."
Shuntae and Bobbi - You both look great!
I noticed recently that I always have a picture of Harley as my av. Everybody else is changing their av's to show their progress. I'm gonna give in to the peer pressure and have Dave take a picture of me tomorrow in my Easter dress -- that we went to 4 stores before we were able to find it in my size.
I'm feeling better with more calories and protein - I feel full longer. But twice today I still got dizzy when I stood up. The first time was before I'd eaten breakfast. But the second one was less than 2 hours after I'd eaten 2 pb&j sandwiches, a banana, and a granola bar for lunch. I don't know. I want to give the new "diet" a try before I call the doctor again, for at least a week or 2. I tried to do the elliptical today but I felt really tired and got a headache. So I only did 10 minutes. Then I tried later and did 4, then later and did 6, and then I just quit for the day and took a nap.
Tomorrow we're going to church and then lunch at Dave's parents. Then we'll be doing supper at my parents. (Both sets of parents only live 10-15 minutes from our house and less than 5 minutes from each other.) Happy Easter tomorrow! Nite black teamers. :flowerforyou:0 -

My guess is you're pregnant--
One egg a piece, huh? Boy, you're tough.
okay-- so I had some Easter candy while filling the baskets-- got it out of my system, and I'll resist from here on out. I've been very good with my no sweets, succumbing only last week when our friend was visiting, and tonight-- no pie tomorrow, no more chocolate--
Too flippin' windy to run tonight, and I'm wayyyyyyyy behind in work due to shopping and egg coloring-- so I'll try and gird up my loins, ha, for some jumping jacks before bed-- something to rev up the ol' metabolism before beddybye--
Blessings be yours this Easter to all my friends who celebrate-- He is risen, my friends.0 -
Good early, early morning Black Team! I just wanted to check in and say hi...we're off this morning to visit my family in Kentucky for spring break. I probably wont have access to a computer every day, but will check in as I can. I have a food journal that I use EVERYDAY (it has been with me wherever I go!) so even if I cant log my food on here every day, I can catch it all up when Im able to get online. I hope you all have a lovely, blessed Easter and I will check back in as soon as Im able to.

Here ya go...after Easter Vigil Mass....
Wow, Bobbi, you look fantastic.. running really does agree with you.
OK, that's it - I'm going back to the program. That, and an occassional trip to the chiropractor, is just what I need.. thanks for the inspiration.
ps, I will try to get a more recent picture up as well. figured you are all getting tired of Boo - my big kitty0 -

Lori - glad you are feeling better, but still worried about you.. true, it could take a while for the newer protein diet to take effect, but don't wait too long to get it checked out. Assuming you've already ruled out the more obvious reasons..
Hang in there sweetie..0 -

Roni, have a great spring break. Kentucky is one of my favorite states, being as horse-crazy as I am. Lexington is like heaven to me.. If only they had a beach, I'd never leave..
Marla, impressive egg count - and they are so pretty. how long did it take to make all those. We always seem to get the lousy egg dye that takes 3 hours to turn the egg any recognizable color.. amateurs, I'm sure.
Happy Easter everyone... find many eggs - just don't eat them all..

Happy easter black team! :flowerforyou:
here is my quick attempt to get caught up.
Lori- I'm with Janie, I have to admit that beth and I were really worried about you, but I am so glad your feeling better.
Bobbi-WOW you do look great! way to go woman!
Roni-Have a great time on spring break!
Marla- I cannot tell you how much joy it brings me to see your ticker move. Your an amazing person and deserving of many blessings! I'm so happy for you it's kinda rediculous. lol
So here the update, It's been great to see Beth's family and they are all amazed by our progress. yesterday kinda became and off day with Pizza for supper. Usually the father in law cooks but he wasnt feeling well. I try not to sweat days like that cause one here in there isnt a bit deal. The biggest thing I have gotten from this weekend away is that I have realized that I am a totally different person than I was before. The in-laws live near a public park that I have always lived near before moving north. And I have walked around the perimeter of that park a THOUSAND times in my life. (Its about 2 miles). But this morning I ran it. I have never RAN around that park in my life and even though it was only two miles it was surreal. I know I am a different person than I ever was and even though I felt like I was going to die a couple of times...I still did it and I felt like I was on top of the world. Then later this morning Beth and I took the boys back to the park with the new soccer ball they got for easter and I had so much fun with them. I wasnt thinking about how tired I was...Just about how wonderful those boys are and how much fun I was having. Even with the off day yesterday this has been an amazing home coming. I came back a better person, A better husband, A better Father and a better friend. Between the running and the soccer it burned about 1k cals. So that will help with easter dinner. Then this afternoon we go see my family so that will be fun. Anyway enjoy your day everyone! :flowerforyou: :drinker:0 -

You guys are changing your life, as well as your childrens lives. They will likely not struggle with their weight because they will want to eat better and exercise will be a part of their lives. You and Beth will have so many memories of running down a beach or playing basketball or what ever with those cutie pies.
I am so glad you had the AHA moment at the park. Those are the moments that keep us on the right path.
God Bless you and your family today, Andrew.

Andrew, Thank you!
Isn't it amazing to look at back at what you once did and compare it to now. Way to go on the running. Your boys will have many happy memories of Mommy and Daddy playing with them. Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration.0 -
Happy Easter, Black Team!
Marla- Congrats on the loss...I'm so happy for you and glad that all your hard work paid off!
Bobbi- Look at you, girl! You look amazing! :drinker:
Roni- Enjoy your spring break!
Janie- We have horses and the beach here in MD...come on over! Glad to hear you're giving the running another try, and I hope the class goes well.
Lori- Glad you are feeling better, don't wait too long to head back to the doc if you need it.
Jeannie- Love the new av!
Andrew- WTG on running around the park. I'm so proud of you and Beth for being a good example to your little boys and showing them a healthy lifestyle at an early age. They (and you) will be much happier and have so many wonderful memories for it.
As for us, BF and I are having a nice relaxing dinner at home and hanging out with the cat. We're having turkey (from Heavenly Ham...yum!), green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes for dinner and I picked up Berger cookies (it's a Baltimore thing) for dessert. Yummy. Could be better, but it could also be much, much, MUCH worse.
Have a great day with your families, all!0 -
Andrew - That's great! It's amazing how things change! Dave started his weight loss in the end of December and he's changed so much in a couple months. We had garlic bread left over that somebody brought when we had chili. Dave asked how many calories. When I told him, he threw the rest of the loaf in the garbage and said he's not wasting calories on that. My jaw actually dropped.
Marla - Bite your tongue! I want more children but I'm going for later rather than sooner.
Way to go getting rid of that darn Marla!
Thanks for the concern everybody. Harley had a bad dream and woke up screaming at 4am. I jumped out of bed and ran across the hall to her room. I had to sit down in her rocking chair for a minute to steady myself. Dave is concerned too and would like me to go back to the doctor for some tests. The only problem is our new insurance. It's cheaper every month than the old one but we have to pay the first $5000 for medicine and appointments (except for Harley's well visits) and everything. We're having money taken out of Dave's checks to go towards a medical savings account for that but it just started in January so we're no where near $5000 right now and I know tests can get expensive.
I love everybody's new av pics. I wanted Dave to take a picture of me in my Easter dress. I should've had him do it before he and I practically devored a 1-pound peanut butter filled chocolate egg. :noway: Dress is a little snugger now. But I'll still get a picture up today.0 -
Oh BTW Andrew, in case your Batmobile ever goes in the shop, we found a spare.
Harley tried it out for you.0 -

Okay, so make an old lady cry, why dontcha, there Batman-- sheesh--
Between your sweet words for me, and your beautiful words above-- well, I'm spent today emotionally. I'm so happy for you, Andrew-- I feel similarly-- and you have so much more time than I do to enjoy it-- I waited a decade or two too long to get things together-- but, better late than never. God bless you both and your children-- I'm so proud of you both.
My in-laws just left after a glorious day. We went to church with them and as usual I couldn't get through the hymn "Christ Arose," without weeping. That hymn-- the beautiful message, the music-- I love to sing that hymn, and sing the alto line and I love, love, love it-- and everytime I get to the, "He arose, He arose, Hallelujah, Christ Arose," I choke up-- mushbaby. Sheesh. But, that is at the crux of who I am-- He arose-- so, whaddyagonnado?
They came back for a yummy ham dinner that I'd had on time bake in the oven-- delish. Then Aaron and Faith, 14 and 15 respectively, hid 118 eggs for the younguns-- and we actually found every one. Even Grandma found a couple-- it's windy and chilly, but she braved it and spent time with the kids. Like I told you, she's beginning stage Alzheimer's and is very lucid here, but ultra confused bunches of other places-- seems the kids ground her somehow. It's so precious-- every moment with her is cherished.
It's windy as heck, but I have to brave it later and run somehow-- I'm 7 days away from my 5k, and didn't run yesterday or Friday-- blech. But, gotta suck it up. I was very good at dinner, but did indulge in some dessert after all today, so must go work it off and try to go a bit farther. I'm going to wait til after dark and see if the wind dies down a bit-- it's gonna be a brutal run. But, who knows-- it may be windy and cold next Sunday morning-- I have to be ready for it.
Love everyone's pictures-- I'm so proud to know you all. So proud of all of our progress. Here are some pictures-- Caleb enjoying his first hard boiled egg yesterday afternoon, and then some pictures after church today-- my eldest DD is missing because she's with DH at a golf tournament. (where she tied for 6th-- she had 5 birdies today and STILL shot one over par-- ugh-- anyone here know what I just said?)
I love the picture with the girls, but I miss my oldest girl so much-- they'll be on their way home Tuesday. Eldest DS is missing, too, because at 18, I wasn't inclined to insist he come with us. I told him it would be nice, but I didn't really care. The whole family wasn't going with hubs and daughter in Florida, so I told him it would be nice if he honored his grandparents, but I wouldn't mandate it.
So what did the bum decide to do-- sleep in until dinner time, after church. Boy, I really, really can't wait for this kid to go to college-- it's time. :grumble:
I'll be typing the rest of the day-- but, it was a lovely day-- sending love to all--
Edited to add-- HOLY POOP-- I just realized I have collarbones-- I love collarbones!!!!!!!!!!!! I can see 'em--0 -

I can see 'em--
Look at that bony neck and CHIN!!! lovely jaw line!!
You all look so nice. What a great looking family!
Thanks so much for sharing with us!Jeannie

Morning black team friends.
Here is a post for Andrew - never got a chance to respond to your post on martial arts. I took Tai Chi at the gym at work for a couple of years. We had an excellent teacher who really inspired me on many levels. If you get a chance to try Tai Chi, go for it, I loved it...
