Welcome Andora! I am new to the group and already finding it a great source of information and inspiration.

Hope - It does sound like we live in polar opposite climates. I still loving running outside but I hate being hot....so I usually run in the later afternoon evenings when things are cooler. Once summer comes, I won't run until the sun is setting - thankfully we have lighted running paths in our town.

Yesterday I forgot to add that I walked with my daughter, her friend, and her friend's mom, from her preschool to where we had lunch, to a nearby mall, to a nearby fire station(the girl's dad's a fire fighter), and then to the preschool again where our vehicles were parked. We ended up walking for over an hour.

Today I'll be doing Plyo instead of Yoga... I just can't bring myself to do yoga tonight!!!
Didn't run today, but maybe tomorrow since I have a weight lifting day with P90X.
  • Aaaaaannnnnnnddddd where are your foods RESA !

    mwah thanks and yes
i use 3 zucinic and slice them with a peeler to get thing slices so they look like noodels. first i put fresh garlic cloves in a pan with oil and when they are done take them out and save them for the end. then i put them in a pan with 1tbsp olive oil the zucini its tedious but i found not crowding the pan the best way to make it so it takes a while. while the zucini browns i put garlic powder some salt (very little u know how it makes me bloated) and black pepper...meanwhile on bottom of lasagna dish i put 2 tbsp of tomato sauce then the first layer of zucini on top i put ( i was good i measured) its a big lasagna so i did 3 pieces provalone less then handful of matzarella and cause we had it 1 slice munster use the cheese u like though. i save the matzarella and munster for top layer. then i stack zucini sauce (2 tbsp so it was total 6 for the whole thing) cheese then on top i put the matzarella last of provalone and the munster it doesnt look like a lot but it melts well. in a 450 degree oven it goes for about 10 min to melt the cheese then another 3-5 under the broiler (thats cause everything else is already cooked) ive tried just making it all in over zucini raw but its not as good.

omg i justhad some for dinner im in love lol

oh it was and the apple chips r even easier and better. so for the holiday u cant turn on the oven so it was left on at 200 degrees u can change temp also. i cored about 11 apples thinly thinly sliced them although some werent too thin and were yumm and i put them in the oven on a baking sheet which had foil and pam oil sprayed on it. i left them in while watching them for about 5 hours when flipping them half time on one of the sheets of apple i put cinnamin equal and ginger and then let them keep cooking for another 2 hours until they were like those baged apple chips....im telling u while everyone else in my house ate potato chips me and my mother ate these and i was in heaven (not to mention everyone else grabbed some) i made these twice and i knew that about 7 slices to 9 were one apple so i knew how much i was eating. soooooooo good.

there is no tounge licking lips smiley

Ari - The apple chips sound delicious

Here is a rundown of my menu yesterday:

B- Bowl of oatmeal, 2 mini box of rasins
L - 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, 1 serving of garlic and herb wheat thins, 1 cup of sugar-free applesauce
    S- Low fat string cheese
D - Creamed spinach (sauteed fresh spinach and mixed with 2 servings of weigh watchers cream cheese), small grilled chicken breast, and a bananna for dessert

I didn't get any running in yesterday - as my knees were very achey. But I did a small walk with my MIL last night.

Hi, I'm Amy and I'd love to join this group if I could!

In the past year or so, I've gotten back into running after years of not running. I'm certainly not a marathon runner, but I'd like to be someday! I run about 15 miles a week. I'll either 3 miles/ 5 days a week or 5 miles 3 times a week.
I've worked really hard to make exercise a part of my weekly routine. In addition to running, I'll usually do 20 minutes of cardio on the Arc Trainer or Stairclimber. I'm a cardio addict!

This is the first time I've ever been on a "diet". Losing weight is never easy but I always found that exercise would slim me down if I gained more than I'd like. Once I got older and started drinking, I found the weight is way more difficult to lose. I've never counted calories before this.
MFP has me at 1400 calories a day to lose a pound a week. I tried 1200 a day to lose 2 a week but I found it too hard. Maybe in a few more weeks, I feel comfortable dropping down.

Anyway! I have a two weddings coming up next month and I want to feel comfortable and pretty. So far, I've lost 5 pounds but I would ultimately like to lose 20 more. For next month, I would like to drop a total anywhere between 5-7 lbs more.

That concludes the super long intro portion of this post!
Good luck everyone with their goals. I'm looking forward to being part of such a great group!

    Good morning ladies!
I hit the scale this am (it was hard to wait till Friday!) and liked what I saw. It was the weight at which I promised myself if I got to I could schedule a massage at my favorite salon. So I lost 3 lbs since I started this logging and counting. Weekend is here, so my goal is not to gain it all back! My husband likes to eat out like super burritos, Red Robin, Japanese buffets, etc. Thanks to this site, I can see what all that stuff has in terms of calories, and I can figure out what I can and can't have. For instance, if I eat 1/2 of that burrito, I'm ok. I don't feel sick-full, either!
The apple chips sound so yummy, I think I will try. Those bagged ones are so expensive!

Welcome Amy! Good job on the loss, Andor! I have found that using MFP to look at the food before I go to a restaurant really helps me stay accountable and to make healthier choices. And like you I don't feel - sick full when I am done.

good morning everyone winding down week 13 cant believe it still committing to not weigh in for 2 weeks and its been difficult which like i said is odd cause previous diets i went by how i looked and clothing not the scale. so im seeing some new faces welcome welcome join our little cult lol. kidding kacee

    weigh in is on tues

names are optional but after 9 weeks we decided it was time they call me Ariella or ari i was tortiose cause slow and steady but when i hit a 3 week all i became snail call me wat u want even pep

challenges are only if u want to we sort of do personal challenges also and share them with each other and this group is so supportive to you. i gave up cheese for a while and was struggling and my dear sisters and mister (who is gone for a few for personal reasons and we miss u jeremy if u r reading this) helped me get through it with amazing support.

teressa has started us if u want writing down wat we eat through out the day (head down in shame) because i know i dont hit near my calories and i am trying and also i was losing so much 13 since 2 weeks ago when i stopped weighing and then wall so my personal challenge i have uped my excercise from 30 min to at least 45 walking uphill 5 days a week any other day is my bonus day and i am also doing the 30 day shred.

my mother gingeybear is also on our lovely group but she has been ill so cant write just yet but shes been eating well and excercising we even went bike riding mon.

me im 25 from new york city where supposedly its finally gonna be 70 today and tom and u know im taking advantage of that lol first real spring days, im in grad school for social work first year and i am interning at a mental health clinic so its been a stressful few months wat else....i want to be healthy but thin is a bonus  to me this is not a diet this is a change for life. :flowerforyou: and my motto slow and steady wins the race love it steal it (borrow i need it back) amnd use it.

im so proud of all of u on the weight loss this week, welcome all u rock for making this change change has to come from wanting it cause it wont work any other way.

ps im on here every day i try to keep this thing alive when i can cause i love this group these ppl are y this time is different for me.

    xoxo

    Welcome to the group:happy:

So I was going to get on here last night and see what everyone was up to, but right before I was able, we went to check cows. Now since I haven't updated you in a while, during the "black out period" of no computer, we had a few snowstorms which led to a bunch of little sick calves. We were doctoring left and friggen right. Bringing in frozen babies and mommas that were leaving them in a blizzard, blah blah blah, the list goes on. So now we're down to like 30 cows left (words cannot express the joy of that last statement:laugh: ), and other than cold and sickness have had a pretty good calving season. Well anyway, last night one momma I'd been watching, wast about 2 hours from when her water broke and still no baby. Yup, he was upside down and breech. :noway: Well good thing hubby and I are seasoned calf-pullers:laugh: . (that's another story, that involves alot of screaming through the first few that we pulled together:laugh:  ) So we got him righted and pulled and whamo baby plopped out healthy as can be. So that's why I was MIA last night.

As for this morning and today.....I started the day with a half-froze baby being hauled to the bath tub to get warmed up. Once he did warm up, he proceeded to bawl till hubby was done feeding the cows and could help me get him to the barn. The cats were very traumatized. So then I had a bathroom full of calf-goo (yes I think that's a very scientific word for the slime and crude on a newborn calf), melting snow and dirt to deal with. :grumble: Might I add, this was aaaaallllllll BEFORE my coffee:angry: .

So I haven't really done a whole bunch of running. Sorry. See at least now you guys know that when I think of a challenge, I'm not stacking the deak in my favor. They really do challenge me too:laugh: . Well I think that's about all I have to report for today.
Glad to see you back Ari, and with so many new ideas!
Meg -- I didn't know you were in MI, I grew up there. My sister and her family still lives there too.
Well I think it's close to my bed-time.
PS -- Resa, sorry I can never seem to keep up with posting my food. Maybe I'll start next week.

Kaycee-Don't even worry about it!!! It sounds like you've been super busy! I've been feeling this stupid sinus infection really hard... I think that my allergies are making it worse, especially with my sister's dog here, and the volcano ash, and the fact that it's the beginning of spring and allergy season for us here in Alaska.

All I want to do is SLEEP, but with 2 kids and taking care of my grandfather, that's definitely not something I can do right now... I'm going to force myself to workout tonight and hope that it makes me feel better-sometimes it makes my head more clear to do it... My shoulder is feeling better enough that I think i can handle the rigors of P90X's pull ups tonight... Whoo-hoo!!!

I haven't been doing so great at posting my meals, either. I'll fix that starting tomorrow!!!

Good morning(almost afternoon) everyone... I wanted to post my meals so far...
bagel w/ 1 tablespoon of cream cheese
    banana

Lunch will probably be a lean cuisine and a piece of fruit... or string cheese, something portable. I'll post again later.

Looks like I came back at a good time! We've got new people in this group and that's good to see! Sorry I've been MIA lately ladies but as I said before I was having a really hard time with my home life. Almost left my man... the love of my life because Love ain't enough sometimes and I've lived through my share of crap and won't take much more in my life!

After lots of talks and tension and tears though, I have so far decided to stay. The last few weeks have been a big improvement. I hope me packing my bags and taking off for a couple of days (yes I actually did go) was the kick in the *kitten* he needed to realize what a gem he's got in me!

I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop to be honest and you could say I am cautiously optimistic about the future. I do love him like no other and want to be with him forever. He really needs to get some of his *kitten* together though and hopefully he will continue to do so.

In the mean time, I've missed you all. I have been undisciplined in my eating and exercising. HOWEVER, I have purchased a scale and my 30 day shred is in the mail from Amazon (should get it by Thursday). Starting today I am tracking my eating once more and my exercise. At least the weather is better (Winnipeg had the coldest winter in 14 years.... it was my first winter back in 15! Let's just say the Jenny Bum was not a happy girl!) I will be purchasing a bike in the near future and will start to ride to work. 6.2Km each way (that's about 3 miles each way for my 'merican friends!)

I'm happy to be back! And happy to report (miraculously) that I have not gained a single pound despite all the emotional ups and downs I've had! I figured I'd gained just based on the amount of alcohol I've consumed in the last month or so alone!!!

Yayyyyyy, Jen! Welcome back! I am so sorry to hear about all your drama, but I am very, very happy that you are back and seem to be happier!

Okay, so lunch and breakfast together leave me with 750 calories left over, but I also haven't exercised yet today... Probably some YogaX and then my Couch to 5K, so plenty of calories for a good dinner and a snack, too!

Okay, so for a snack I had a banana, half of an apple, and 1 tbs of peanut butter...
I'm making some cabbage rolls for dinner tonight, because my husband is out of town. He HATES cabbage, and the smell makes him queasy. When I made this recipe previously, I had to eat it out in the garage!
