:blushing: Let’s just say that I actually ask the fast food personal how many ounces they are serving me and if that is not bad, I also carry my measuring cups and spoons when I go out to eat. This way I can log in exactly what and how much I ate.

I thought I was the only one who did this! I measure everything I can simply because if I don't, I will try to lie to myself about how much I'm actually eating. Plus if you are at a point where you can't have that many calories to begin with every little one counts!

That is why I have a food scale, so i don't have to count pieces of spaghetti.

Nope, definitely not that obsessed! I weigh things or use cups every now and again to confirm that my eyeballing is close enough - and that's worked OK for me. I find that with some things I tend to be under, and others (like pasta) I'm overestimating so it seems to balance out OK.

I just counted every strand in a box of whole wheat sphagetti. By the way...it's 34 strands per ounce. There has got to be a better way! lol

thanks for doing this for us :) lol! yeah... I am totally addicted to measuring. Have to get a new food scale since I gave my other one away.

what brand spaghetti? :) Just wondering

When I had Weight Loss Surgery I counted and weighed and measured every friggen gram. I had lost all concept of portion. Now I can eye roll 100 grams of most anything BUT i STILL WEIGH it at least once a week (if not more) of regular food and at least 3 times of a new food to make sure I can eye ball it.

Portion Distortion is a BIG problem.

It also makes you really think about how you are going to spend your calories.

Don't be ashamed to measure you food but don't obsess over 1-2 grams either!

    Good luck!!

I do that all the time - break it down to a 1 gram equivalent and then enter 93 servings or whatever xx

Im generally quite good with logging my food, but i probably eat around 200kcals a day of nibbles that i dont log. I generally dont log sauces or marinades either. But im not trying to lose weight at the moment, so thats fine.

I know I'm obsessive when it comes to weighing each gram/ounce, and I prefer my scale over measuring cups/spoons. This isn't the case for everyone, but I honestly feel as though I'd eat LESS calories than I need to be, if I were to eyeball most of my portions! I like getting every calorie worth, out of each meal :]

I count pretzels when I eat them at a happy hour...

I also tare a spoon and bowl, stick spoon in the peanut butter, and put the peanut butter in a bowl so I get exactly one serving of peanut butter.

I also don't use measuring cups for calorically dense items because the scale is SO much better.

    Yup. Obsessed.

A serving of Goldfish crackers is 51 crackers. And I do, in fact, count out exactly 51.
