My son has ADHD and the one thing I will never forget when we were doing his evaluation we had a meeting with his teacher and my husband said to her "he is just very cusious and playfull like me" and her responce was "You know ADHD is hereditary" I almost busted out laughing but it was priceless to see the look on his face LOL!!!.

    Yup. That's me.

I currently have 15 different programs running. Total of 4 tabs in each internet (3 instances, making it 12 tabs total) 5 different folders open, an Excel spreadsheet, and 4 WP documents. Also, my monitoring program is open, it's the only one I'm not using at the moment.

Yes, I'm switching programs like a madman. Yes, my computer wants to simply detonate because I'm fairly certain I give my CPU high blood pressure.

It took me 12 minutes to write this post because of all the other stuff I was doing in the meantime.

I'm sure my ALT & TAB keys will be the first to go on my keyboard.

Add a little dyslexia too, I can't tell you how many transpositions errors I corrected while writing this.

My son has ADHD and is 20 years old now, in college and struggling. He couldn't take the meds as a child and now he tries to take them but they hurt his heart, make it cramp and beat hard, sometimes skip a beat. But he suffers with it so he can pass his tests, and think well in class. He tapes his classes and gets longer to take the tests in a private area, but it is still a challange. He laughs about his ADHD, but sometimes he cries about it too.

I better not show him this video. I think it would hurt too much at this moment in his life.

I would have finished the report in my ADHD driven "Selective Ambition" style - just enough to get a C and not get fussed at too much by my parents and played in the snow anyway.

They didn't have pills for ADHD when I was in school. I got paddled by my 1st grade teacher (my parents had long given her permissions to paddle first, call them later) for constantly making siren noises & running around class.

Not sure how i graduated high school, much less college.

Me too, because it's anti-treatment propaganda. Don't take your meds, kids, your inability to function as a normal human being is what makes you *special*. Bullsh**.

I kind of took it more for an "innocence lost" kind of thing. But meds aren't for everyone and I'm pretty sure Binary didn't post this to start a debate on psychiatric meds. Why don't you just chuckle at the joke and keep it movin'?

My meds were sitting on my hands during church because I couldn't be still and wanted to mess with everything.

Makes me sad too, like the kid just lost the part of himself that made him unlike every other tool in the box.

Ha! My husband is the poster child for adult ADD. He was in his 30's when he was diagnosed and suddenly it all made sense. He has meds he takes when he really needs to concentrate but for the most part he doesn't medicate because he says he feels boring and fuzzy when he takes them. He will literally trail off sometimes in the middle of a sentence when something distracts him. I've gotten used to it and tease him now. 'Ooooh, look, shiny!'

My wife has learned my train-jumping ways. She just laughs and tries to follow my never ending stream of jumping from track to track.

Pinup - You husband sounds a lot like me, but I've never bother being actually diagnosed.

I do that in conversations but I don't really have trouble concentrating what I'm working on. I don't think having your thoughts move quickly is necessarily ADD/ADHD.

    It is sad.

I've tried meds for various issues. I am always best when unmedicated. It's a crutch. Go ahead and attack. I'm old enough to know myself.

If you complain about stuff, doctors give you a pill. That's what they do. For me, there are better coping tools.
