Maybe you're restricting yourself too much so it feels like a diet instead of a lifestyle change. I still like to eat out and get fast food but I've changed what I order now and go with the smaller portions like a kid sized meal instead so that it still fits within my goals for the day or get a burger but skip the fries, etc.. I also give myself a break each week and have a 'spike' day where I don't worry too much about what I'm eating but still try to make sure it's not too extreme. Then I get right back on track the next day so I don't feel like I 'can't' have something. It helps me to stick with this instead of other programs where I felt restricted and couldn't eat certain foods and I ended up quitting them after a month or two.

Okay ive been back on track for about a week now but my problem is that i can go for about a month straight before i go on a binge and can no longer control my foods or appetite and it throws me off track TOTALLY! so this time around im trying to avoid that ...I am now excercising and drinking plenty of water but thats not doing it

Have you tried to have a "cheat day" or spike day once a week? You still log all your food, but eat double your regular daily calories, and eat whatever you feel like....It works, and you definitely stop the cravings and make it manageable if you can look forward to "legally" have a day to eat "bad" stuff.....

I agree with water and protein - but if I have an off day, I try to wear fitted workout gear the next day -- ready to walk/stretch/workout whenever and reminds me not to pig out or I'll have to exercise more!

how old is the person saying this? because at 50.... that world doesn't exist. one day of double calories = 1 week of getting rid of the 2lbs you gained on the day of double calories.

Unless you went over by 6,000 calories then any "weight" you gained is water weight. It wasn't fat. And hey, isn't THAT what we're trying to lose here?

Yes, this really does work regardless of age. One day of over eating is not going to ruin a weeks worth of hard work and you will still end up having a calorie deficit for the entire week as long as you don't go completely overboard. You may see an initial gain of water weight from sodium but you will lose it quickly within the next day or two and get back on schedule. Countless people do this on the board and have had great sucess with it.

Add Chia seed to your diet. You can eat them straight or in water, or you can mix them into another food you might eat. They absorb fluid and fill your belly for hours but are rich in nutrients.
I've heard t his works wonders....also make sure you're drinking like 70oz of water a day, you will be less hungry.

I didn't go through to read all the replies, but I used to use OxyElite Pro. It's a huge appetite suppresant & a mild calorie burner. I used to want to eat all of the time...especially sweets! Then once this stuff kicked in I wasn't even hungry, and at some points the thoughts of eating more would just make me sick. I loved it. It's worth a try & isn't that expensive. There's a $40 bottle at GNC and with discounts and all it could be lower. Try it out!

more fiber & protein, less sugar

also, i think i've read that cinnamon helps with appetite and digestion - i like to keep a cinnamon stick in my tea, but I just like the flavour...

Also yes, supplement wise green tea, and anything with High amounts of caffiene do the trick.

I seriously DOUBT, I mean REALLY doubt that your body is hungry. I believe it is probably psychological. Your stomache is about the size of your fist... So, assuming you drink plenty of water. Eat foods high in protein and fiber (lean meats and veggies) you shouldn't be hungry.

See if it's binging, boredom, or depression that is causing this before you start trying any "fad" supplements.

    another quick fix thread.

The solution is a mindset change. Willpower and education > appetite suppressant.

I agree with water and exercise. Water especially....when you feel hungry, drink a glass of water. Usually we mistake our body's request for water as hunger and think we are hungry when in fact we are thirsty....

I have been working on my weight for 2 years now. While I am new to this program (just started 2 days ago), I have already lost over 40lbs (over the 2 year period). The only success I had in achieving this is by changing my lifestyle/eating habits. I do count my calories, drink lots of water, and exercise; however, by controlling my portions, snacking off the negative calorie food list, and listening to my body (like when it says stop eating, you are full) I have been able to still eat the things that most people think you have to give up AND I am still loosing weight. Write down all of your calories (even if you just eat one potato chip). Writing it down holds you accountable for everything you eat. You will find that you won't eat something just because you don't want to have to put it on your list. I learned that I had to make a committment to myself to change my habits. Good luck!

I've had luck with a 1 teaspoon or 2 of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water right before meals. It doesn't taste that great, but it works. You can mix a little honey in it too.

Hot tea. I've been drinking so much tea these past few days I feel like I'm going to float away. This rain combined with no school and no riding, mixed with stress...I want to just eat eat eat. :) It works.
