Do you shower at the gym?

YES I have to. I live in a hot climate & I sweat a lot easily that just a 10 minute workout or a 5 minute heavy weight lifting already make me too sweaty even in an airconditioned gym. So by the time I finished my workout, my entire body is already bathing itself in my own sweat.
My gym has 8 private shower areas, a sauna room & a steam bath all within the women's locker room & I have no problem being almost naked in front of other women.0 -
Yes! The shower is bigger, better water pressure. I get so sweaty anyway, I like clean up before I go out in public.0

When I work out in the morning before I head to the office I do. I dislike it, not because I have a problem with being naked or anything in public (I'm a nude photographer & model, I've seen a ton of naked bodies, been seen naked a few times...lol) it's just so much more comfortable at home. I know where everything is, I don't have to walk from here to there to over that way for a bunch of crap. *laugh*0

I shower at the gym! My workout ends around 9:30-9:50 PM so there's no one ever there. I hate being in my sweaty clothes or my wet suit for a long period of time. I hate getting my car chlorinated or all sweaty-slimy.0

Almost every time. My gym is 20 mins away from where I live, but work is on the next block and I generally work out in the mornings.
It used to gross me out, but I go to a small gym that's very clean and provides towels. I'd never go barefoot on the floors though... in or out of the shower, that's what flip-flops are for. My old gym used to be full of buck-naked old ladies who liked to sit directly on the locker room benches-- talk about a gross-out. I don't think I've ever seen anyone naked at the current one, though.0 -
Nope. I wait til I get home.0
-
No because some of my co-workers go there and I don't want them to see all my tattoos!0
-
Yea like the fact I can start out with nice warm water and then slowy cool off, and not have kids pushing to get in as well.0
-
Uhm, No way! Too many germs and people. :noway:0
-
No, it is literally 2 minutes from my house so what's the point of showering there!0
-
Yup I workout in the morning before work can't be stinking the co-workers wouldn't like it. I have to bring my own stuff, but thats ok the showers are stalls so private and they are clean.0
-
No, but its not because I wouldnt. I just live fairly close to my gym and i'd rather just go home instead of lugging all my stuff there.
But if I had a time deadline and couldnt go home after, then I most certainly would. My gym doesnt offer all the ammenities that some of you guys gyms do, but my facility is brand new, and everything is kept very clean and well manintained. We have changing rooms right across from the showers so that you can get undressed, leave your clothing in there if you like, and walk 2 feet across into the shower.
We also have hair dryers there but I would have to bring my own shampoo and towels. Seeing the 'nakeds' walk around really doesnt bother me. I am modest and would use a towel myself, but I work in the health care field, and bodies are bodies to me.0 -
...by showering at home I run no risk of running into my students while either of us is only partially clothed . Bonus!
Okay, now THAT is a reason to avoid the gym showers.
I can't believe how many people seem not to have heard of "shower shoes" though... :huh:0 -
I pack a bag and go before work--- my coworkers apprieciate that. I just looked at Lifetimes website and I want one please!0
-
There are gyms that still have 1 giant shower?? lol geez, reminds me of highschool.0
-
Absolutely NOT. I dont even change there.0
-
Cant believe how many live so close to their gyms! I too live just a minute away and come home and take a shower.
But if ive used the pool, I will take a shower after, we have two curtained off showers in our ladies room, so I used them. I get dressed in the open part of the locker room, but I try to stay covered as possible, but lately there's no one in there anyway!0 -
If I work out on my lunch break, yes.0
-
I use to but not anymore. The showers are right by the toilets and there are always people taking Sh*ts there and stinking the place up. I cant deal with that so i just do it at home. I dont even do in the locker room anymore smells to bad and its dirty.0
-
No, I workout after work so I just drive home.0
-
I don't, actually. I wait until I get home. I feel a bit awkward about using public showers...plus, I live a mere 10 minutes from my gym.0
-
If I go there to swim then I shower there otherwise I would rather shower in my nice CLEAN bathroom. People who trash the locker room are probably the same people who piss all over the toilet seat without flipping it up first0
-
Absolutely! I belong to a fairly nice gym, I rent a locker where I keep my shower stuff in a cute plastic tray, a light weight robe that I use cause I'm more modest about showing all the flab that hasn't come off yet. Also keep shower shoes and a rack for my gym shoes. The showers are fabulous, clean and great water pressure, showers are individual with frosted doors. Lots of privacy. Gym has towels (they just bought a bunch of new fluffy ones, so soft and warm!). Even though the showers seem pretty clean, I still wear shower shoes. The locker room is carpeted with utility carpet. Lots of mirrors and counters with hair dryers, curling irons and flat irons. Two flat screen TVs, benches. Overall pretty darn comfy.
I go with the dawn patrol gang (I arrive at 5:30am, but there are some people already there at 5am when it opens. There are only a handful of us there total, we all chat as we get dressed. Some of the ladies let it all out, I don't although I'm not fastidious about keeping my robe closed.
Reading everybody else's comments I realize that I am pretty lucky, my club is pretty nice. And best of all, it's only a 3.8km drive.0 -
Yes, I hate sitting in my car all smelly and sweaty. haha0
-
Hell to tha no0
-
Nope, I prefer to do it at home and my gym is like a 10 minute walk from my house... only time I would is if I were going somewhere afterwards and I lived further away.0
-
I do. My gym is at my work. A 45 minute drive from home. I am military, used to showering changing with room full of folks. ITs not a big deal anymore!0
-
I don't... My 24 hour fitness is pretty gnar in the dressing rooms and I live 10 minutes from home. I try to wash my face after every workout, but no shower at the gym for me.0
-
Sometimes. I like the showers there0
-
Yes I do.0
