I want to eventually be able to show my progress. Weight loss shows everywhere. I say more power to the men and women on here who have worked hard and can show off what they accomplish. Think of where you are right now... aren't you going to be proud when you have worn a one piece your whole life and now you can show yourself off in a skimpy two piece, not because you want the attention, but instead because you want to reveal your accomplishment. We as women want our abs tighter, our bust line more firm, the ever dreaded pooch that seems to leave ever so slowly tight, and our arms and legs lean and healthy. I want the world to see what I have accomplished when it truly happens. I have hidden behind my clothing my whole life because of my insecurities of being "thick" when I loose it I want the world to know "Ha Ha I won, this battle did not keep me down but made me strong and physically fit". To all of those out there show it off you deserved it because you fought for it. No body came on this sight because they were "perfect" now they want to show off that they have become "perfect" and are confident in their bodies now.

I really don't mind it. But there's one picture I saw where the girl has her shirt pulled up really far and is showing half of her boobs and that's a little much for me. But as long as my man (who is on this site, too) still thinks I'm the prettiest girl he's ever seen and finds me attractive then who am I to get all worked up over a girl showing off her hard work? It's motivation for me to work hard and hopefully look like that one day.

I am a very conservative dresser. But that is ME. I don't expect anyone else to be so. I am tired of the double standard we have - as people. Sex sells. It's in our face all the time. Television, magazines. But if a woman is attacked the first thing that's questions is how was she dressed. If she was perceived as provocative then she deserved it.

I wholeheartedly disagree.

We women need to be united. From bikinis to burquas. It makes no difference. Especially when it comes to our own bodies. I say it again, we women need to be united.

This comes from my heart. I have a friend who was nearly killed by a man who slipped a drug in her WATER then followed her outside - where she went for some fresh air when she got dizzy. He beat her face in with a rock. She will never see herself in a mirror again. The face looking back at her, after 28 surgeries, is not her own. The trial was less about the man who nearly killed her and more about what was she wearing when she went to the casino.

Mind you, she was not at all dressed in a provacative manner. Cropped jeans, a t-shirt and flip-flops. But the implication was still there. As was the "shame on her" for leaving her children with a sitter while she went out and got "drunk."

Amen sister. Even if your friend had been wearing a short dress and heels, it doesn't matter, that doesn't give anyone the right to abuse her! We should ALL respect each other's right to dress however the hell we want. Whatever makes YOU feel confident is ok by me!

Women chastising other women for wearing bikinis or revealing clothing makes it that much more ok for men to do it...think about it.

I agree. My one misgiving is the burquas. I believe a woman has the right to choose to wear one. HOWEVER, I question how it's a freely made choice in a society where, if she's raped, her father's first impulse isn't to kill the rapist but to kill HER. I question how freely the choice is made then...
