I am 5'2", start weight 189# and size 16.. Trained for a half marathon for a year, lost down to 143, size 4 with a skinny fat stomach.. now am weight training, up to 154#, still in those size 4's but now have a lean, no muffin top stomach.

5'3" start weight 176lbs., size 10 pants were getting awfully tight- CW 169lbs- comfortable size 10's and into 8's as well. Still Large/Extra Large top though.

Different body types would gain weight in different places....that would be my guess. I'm 5'2, I currently weigh 146 and I'm between sizes 9-11. I gain most of my weight bottom first.

That's why it's so hard for clothing companies to design garments that fit. The human shape greatly varies. Companies try to fit the lowest common denominator of their particular niche.
  • I'm 5' 3 1/2" and I've been hovering around 140lbs for the last year. I'm a comfortable 5/6 depending on the cut of the jeans. Most of mine unfortunatley are too tight so I'm left w/ muffin top which seriously pisses me off  Just recently upped most of my tops anywhere from a womans sm to junior med/lg.

My GW is around 125lbs which is about where I sat for 4-5 years and where I felt my best. I was still in size 5's but they fit SO much better and I could wear a sm. top without feeling miserable.
  • im 98 lbs but im really small boned. I wear a size 23 jeans and i started at 110 i believe.. :)

At one point, I went through and averaged the responses here (and some from friends). I forgot to post it but just sent it off to a friend who was curious, so figured I'd post it now (note: there may have been some additional responses since. I've no idea when in the thread I did this. I also tossed out some extreme outliers - things that were much heavier or lighter than the rest).

Keep in mind that different body shapes and different percentages of body fat will mean different sizes. And, of course, there's the issue of vanity sizing and whatnot.

    Size | Weight | High | Low
    24 | 265 | 270 | 245
    22 | 242 | 250 | 233
    20 | 222 | 237 | 203
    18 | 203 | 214 | 194
    16 | 198 | 209 | 176
    14 | 174 | 185 | 165
    12 | 168 | 180 | 152
    10 | 156 | 176 | 145
    8 | 146 | 159 | 135
    6 | 129 | 137 | 118
    4 | 124 | 132 | 110
    2 | 111 | 115 | 105
  • I had been trying for about a year to loose weight. I was an active dancer all through my life and couldn't understand why I was so heavy. I started at 170 lbs and hurt my ankle so I couldn't dance or work out. It was after I got out of my walking boot I weighed 180 lbs at 17! I was so upset with how I looked and was so tires of being called obese by my doctors. I really wanted to loose the weight. I tried my little *kitten* off and I am now 18 and I weigh 126 lbs! My goal is to be about 120, but my boyfriend, friends, and family tell me not to loose anymore or ill be to skinny. I think now I just need to tone myself up and loose some extra skin. Other then that I am so happy with my results! Starting at 180 lbs, and now being 126, I feel like a whole new person with so much energy. I was a size 13 and I am now a size 2,3!! I am so happy! I'm finally wearing the clothes I've always wanted and finally have the sexy hipbones and still have my curves! (a big butt, and nice hips) I'm a happy chick over here! :) keep up the hard work ladies, it really pays off!
