You can naturally develop wrinkles in your face as early as your mid to late 20s. To assume that you should have a smooth and wrinkleless face in your 30s or you are doing something wrong is absurd.

Genetics play a big role in how a person's skin acts through the aging process. I know a woman who is 43 who looks like she's in her 20s with no surgeries. She works out a lot, tans, and has very few wrinkles in her face.

I know women in their early 30s whose skin has already started wrinkling.

Granted there are things you can do to make this worse (smoking and tanning are typically considered two quick routes to this) but there are people who do both who don't experience this issue (again genetics)

Trash talking someone over age is about as pointless as it gets. We all age. No one is immune. It is the great equalizer.

    well put.

if they are from giving birth they will fade and you wont be able to notice them. just give it time. i know others will probably not like this response but tanning really helps as well. not spray tanning but actual in a tanning bed, tanning.

I'd definitely rather deal with stretch marks than skin cancer. Just sayin..

in that case, your profile pic is a bad example... you should stay out of the sun. it has caused more skin cancer then all tanning ever done around the entire world combined.

Well said. And there is no way marieautumn looks like she's in her 40's. That I find funny. I've tanned for years off and on. I'm 31 and been told by several people I look like I'm in my early 20's so tanning does not age everyone the same.

I just blogged about the things I hate about my body and my stretch marks are #1. My soon-to-be-ex hated them, so it's good to know not everyone feels the same way.

Wow! How about appreciating how hard you worked and all that you accomplished?!? and given the answers here, I'd say you'll have no problem finding someone that isn't a shallow crap bag!!
    Yeah, I know. Thanks.

Also, "crap bag" is now one of my favorite terms. I am going to have to find a way to incorporate it into conversations more often...

No she does not look like she is in her 40s. She looks more my age. I think it seems clear that that barb was thrown out of spite and it seemed to me to be quite petty.

    nope.
An ex of mine has lots of stretch marks and we called them... Her TIGER STRIPES!

    GRRR!!!
Stretch marks do not decide who the person is. So no

    Back-to-back superman's up above.

I spotted and appreciated the double superman post...Back on topic... I'm a girl,I have stretch marks...I've yet to meet a girl who has gone through puberty and doesn't have them! Most guys have them too. I don't care about mine,if people want to judge me on something I can't change that's their problem, not mine.

    No.
If I am with a lady and doing something that allows me to see her stretch marks then they are the last thing I care about.

Making her happy is the first and only.

Women who have children arent the only one who gets stretch marks. I have no children and I have stretch marks on my hips. :(
I've had stretch marks since I was a teenager.

I've answered this question before, but I'll state it again. Every stretch mark my wife has, she got from having the three girls that I love. They were the greatest gift I have ever received and my wife's stretch marks are a reminder of that gift. I love every single one of those stretch marks and the young women that they represent.

    aww (:

Stretch marks are ok, especially on the booty, but I don't like to see a woman with chittlings you got to do something bout that.......

    im not a guy..but..i think they're beautiful. (:
i think theyre more beautiful now after i read this quote:

"A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes, and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it's ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it."

This quote obviously only goes to those who got them during pregnancy :P

I'd rather a few stretch marks on my belly than wrinkled, puckered, leathery skin on my face.
hasnt been a problem for me.

    How old are you?

    Just wait.

if you cant guess my age then i guess i'm doing something right. i'll take my weekly tanning session and faded stretch marks any day over a bad attitude.

you're beautiful and you look like you're 18..to me anyways

Love really transends the physical! Love is cherishing all that the other person is and that includes our badges of honor, which is what a stretch mark is. I have them from when I power lifted and they are part of who I am. Stretch marks are a sign that you have lived through and have pushed on. Don't let our airbrushed, painted over, force fed media icons tell you otherwise. That's not real, you're real and any guy who is put off by stretch marks is broken goods!

i dated a girl who had a child very young, and had quite a few, and what not, and honestly, it didn't bother me. when i first noticed them, i was a little off put, and then i realized i'm no peach myself in that area, and she was super confident so who was I to be all superficial

Only if I'm paying to see her nekkid.....strippers and porn...hehehehehehehehehe
    ..... You PAY for porn?
I was wondering if anybody else caught that.
It took me years to discover the internet had more to offer then free porn.

oh and on topic... no one whos opinion matters will actually care.

I agree. I have some on my hips and inner thighs that I have had since 13 years old when puberty hit. They don't really bother me at all as they are so light, and I have had no one ever mention them. I asked my boyfriend who I have been with for two years and he said he had noticed them but he has never even thought twice about them. I think if I'm not worried about them no one else would be. Sure if I could choose to not have them I would, but no ones perfect.

I have also noticed, that nearly every boyfriend I have had has them, and they didn't realise! Usually around the butt and lower hip area. I have had skinny and chubby boyfriends and believe it is just due to their growth spurts when going through puberty.

Do you care if a girl has stretch marks?
Pretty bad ones, not just little tiny ones that are barely visible.

Nope. Chances are I'll get sick of her personality long before I would her stretch marks.
