Hi all!

Hey Katie, thanks for posting the challenge!

I will get straight on it after tomorrow, it's my last exam and I don't even want to mention the rubbish I've eaten today. It's disgusting!! But come Wednesday I can get back into my exercise routine and eating healthy food

Wish me luck everyone, it's a really hard exam (about politics and hard long words that I don't understand) :flowerforyou:

Hi All  Thanks for the challenge and the thread re-direction, Katie. I'm sticking with my exercise routine this week but I may try and extend it to the next level, or at least do the cool down which I am skipping at the mo. Going to try some quorn mince at some point too (thanks Rikki)

Speaking of which, Rikki posted on the Week 3 thread so you may not have seen her post, I've copied it here (below). Rikki my Dad used to work in international development and his work is largely about developing the capacity of local people to be self sustaining through investment in training, agriculture and basic facilities (water/fuel etc). Now he is UK based it's more about providing support to refugee communities and other deprived groups so they can find work. There's also quite a bit of work on environmental issues abroad (development without damaging the environment). GOOD LUCK with the exam cinnamon!

Going out for dinner today so could be tricky - I will try a Tapas bar so the portion size is small! Also skipping lunch which I know is silly but need to try and stick to my calorie limit.
RIKKI'S POST FROM WEEK 3 THREAD:

    Hi all

I feel like iv fell off the end of the world this weekend, you’ve all been talking so much! I’ve missed so much.

Lorro - I actually used Semi Skimmed so I guess I could of lowered the Calories with Skimmed. I love Quorn mince, much nicer than meat. Im not veggie, but I do prefer it. Has any one tried the Fake Steak Slices?

International Development – Where can you go from there? (Trying not to sound critical, just I have no idea what it is) Im pretty useless with words to – so if I sound as if im being mean in anyway, its not malicious, Im just not very good at making the nice things I want to say.. err.. sound nice.

Welcome JoJo, I hope you enjoy being here. It really is great. Where abouts are you from?

Where’s Katherine gone?? Haven’t seen her about for a few days.

Llandudno was nice – I have a confession though. We didn’t walk up – or down the Orme we took the tram. I didn’t over indulge though once I was at the bottom, just had a steak and onion bagette. I did have a few sweeties on the Pier but nothing terrible – Like all you women drinking the world supply of Wine.

Me and the Boyfriend went up to Buxton Moors in Staffordshire on Sunday (We had great weather), I don’t know if any one knows if, but it has the most beautiful views I have ever seen. Really was great.

Speaking of boyfriends who eat more than we do, mine is terrible! I have to make 3 times as much for him as I do me or anyone else for that matter! I need some recipes for food that I can eat but will actually fill him up to. I use Quorn to for my spag bol, with tinned tomatoes and passatta, mushrooms and onion and wholewheat spaghetti.
It is soo good – But BF likes garlic. I can handle maybe 3 cloves but he used the whole bulb! What’s wrong with him!??!

Anyway- What’s everyone got planned to eat today? Are we initiating a new challenge?

    Have a nice day __x

    Hi all
Sily me not posting to the right week -Sorry. The Blonde hair gets the better of me sometimes.

Cin, Good luck! I really hope you do well. Wen will you get the results?

Lorro thanks for the info - Wow that sort of work must really give some sense of achievement. Unlike Accountantcy :grumble:

Ok KT so my week is as follows:

Exercise: 6 Mile run tonight and hoping to build up to 8.5 by the end of the week.
Nutrition: Im going to avoid chocolate.

I know that means like the obvious thing, and i should have been doing it from the start but last week wasnt good. I did have chocolate almost everyday! So come workout time, i had to burn off my tea and the extra calories frm Chocolate that i had gone over by.
    So the plan is

Nutrition: Keep to my cals, but incorporate my tea into the limit. Any exericse cals are a bonus.

Welcome back katherine - Legs bums and tums - i used to do that. i loved it! I must see if i can get back into it. Theres a circuit training class on tonight 8.30-9.30 so i might give that ago once ive done my run.

I was also wondering, Does any one have an Polar HRM. I have an F6 and had it about 18months ago, but a few months ago, all of a sudden it just started beeping. It wasnt intermitant, but a constant beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppp!

Any one had this problem before?

    Thanks __x

    Hello everyone,

I know how you feel about exams Cinnamon, I had all of mine last year and it was when I was doing my dissertation I put on the most weight, as I just couldn't be bothered to write, eating was easier. The weight's never shifted though and that's me been out of uni for nearly a year now which is quite scary!

I had a Gregg's sausage roll for lunch today and it was disgusting, so I got a salad at work instead which was much nicer and healthier. I had tomato soup and a baguette (bad) for dinner, but I did my pilates dvd before dinner so it was ok. I don't know how many calories I burnt off though, I don't have a calorie/heart rate monitor thing. Pilates was pretty good, was like barr work at ballet.

Where are you going on holiday Katherine? I'm going to Ibiza but not until September. Can't wait! Anyone else going anywhere abroad?

I wish I had some classes I could go to. I don't want to go to the gym to use machines since I've got my bike (and can't afford the monthly cost), I'd love going to classes though. The only thing is it would take me half an hour to walk to the closest gym, then another half hour to walk back...that would be my exercise there! It's time more than anything because I don't have the hour plus however long at the gym, then I work different shifts every week so I couldn't keep going to the classes I wanted to.

    Very frustrating!

I know how you feel Katherine, the girls I'm going on holiday with are all skinny! Also my boyfriend is going too and like all the other boyfriends in this group, he is very skinny but eats so much rubbish. Not fair.

    Morning all!

That's so good Katie, defo good motivation for ya! The pounds will melt away if you keep up that exercise routine!! What are circuits? My friend talks about them all the time because he's in the triathlon club, but usually I just nod along.

Don't worry Rikki, I get that question all the time! I tell people what I'm studying and I usually get a blank stare! I did my dissertation on the human rights of disabled children and am particularly interested in the human rights of marginalised groups on the UK...I'd LOVE to work for the refugee council. My regional specialistion was in Latin America (hence why I did Spanish as well) so would love to work there as well, maybe with indigenous groups, I'm not really sure. Thanks for your good luck wishes everyone, but the exam was tragic!! SO hard! But I did the best I could and that's all I could do so hopefully I'll still get a 2:1. Feels so weird to be finished with my degree, I'm already thinking of doing a masters because I'm scared I won't stay up to date in my field...so much to think about!! Though this year will be about trying to pay off my debt and in February some of us are going on a road trip around the states for 2 months!! Can't wait.

Straight after the exam we all went to the pub, had some cocktails, some amaretto and coke (mmm tastes just like Dr Pepper!) and went for a curry!! WHOOPS!!! Back on track from here on in though!! Today I'm walking onto campus to go to the doctors (my best friend gave me ring worm...RING WORM! can you believe it?! Although it's not as gross as it sounds, no actual worms involved lol) And then going for an hours swim.

Lorro, your Dad's work sounds amazing, something I'm really interested in! The hangover wasn't as bad this morning, I think the Indian food helped :blushing:

    i hope so!
in the circuits i do, you do different strength training things, or cardio things for 30secs before swapping to the next. you get a good workout, but its hard to time yourself

I'm the other way around! At uni I get so lazy and have no time, whereas at home there's always something relatively healthy in the fridge!
