Wealth or a faithful, true love?

I broke up with a very wealthy man to date my now-husband, whose salary was 19,400 a year at the time. So you tell me.0

This is a serious question, because finances are a major cause of trouble in a couple. You have to be on the same page with regards to financial goals, and lifestyle. And then have the capacity to work at achieving those goals. And be ready to be flexible when life gets in the way of the plans. That is where love and commitment come in---the old "for better or for worse".0

Do we get to pick the love, who is in love with us, I mean? If so, I'll go with love. If not, money!!0

Faithful, true love.0

I guess my issue is why is it either/or? Does your partner need to support you? What if you support your partner?0 -
Depends on how you are defining wealth. I'd take love and a middle class income. But I'd choose wealth over being dirt poor. All the love in the world isn't going to make me happy if I don't have enough money to care for my children or loved ones.
I was going to say love until I read this. I know "money can't buy happiness," but there are limits to how strong a relationship can be when there are money problems...like it or not, money is a big part of life.0 -
I've learned even the "good guys" can be swayed. To believe in love ok. To believe in absolute faithfulness..nah. I see all the time where really nice great guys want "strange" too.
Wealth for me. You can have wealth and love. Why choose love instead of wealth for the ideal of faithfulness sexually.0 -
I have a faithful true love now - my wife of 35 years. A little wealth would be nice but I am happy where I am at.

Marry a rich person, you can have both.0

I fully expect complete faithfulness in my relationship. We both do. We are both completely loyal and trust each other. That is definitely possible and attainable.0 -
I'm in love and have never been wealthy so I know nothing other than love0
-
I come from a "money wealthy" family but certainly not a 'love wealthy" one. When I was in my teens, my grandparents always said "it is as easy to marry a rich man as it is a poor man". So to their shock and surprise, I married a poor woman! hahahaha0

true love, you can have all the money in the world but you cant buy love x0

'wealth' is a faithful,true love.0
-
Faithful, true love. I have that, and I really don't need anything else.
I know plenty of people who have money, and that's still not enough for them.0 -
Since my man picker has never worked right in 64 years, I would take riches and never look back!0
-
I would want true love , but my guy would have to be smart and have goals like me. With our two minds we would eventually have wealth , Because, I am good with $ and have a good buisiness head.0

Wealth. I have trouble believing in true love. Feelings always fade.0
-
Good answer!0

Feelings do fade, but true love does not.
Love suffers long
Long does not make a list of wrongs
Love is not easily offended
Love does not seek its own
Faith, hope, charity(Love)---the greatest of these is love.0 -
Wealth. True love can't buy freedom from sucky jobs and rotten bosses. Wealth can. True love isn't power. Real wealth (talking billions here, not a paltry few millions) can change the world. Face it, love sounds nice on paper, but money makes the world go round.0

I know plenty of people who would say some of the same things people here are saying about faithful true love. They are just blissfully unaware of what goes on with the other half. May they forever be ignorant.0

FAITHFUL TRUE LOVE -- especially with the situation I'm in now -- newly single
Question is... Is there such a thing?
Oh yeah, there is such a thing. "The One" shows up out of nowhere when you least expect it.0 -

I didn't say man or woman in this post.
I am just telling you I witness it more and more. People you wouldn't even imagine "stepping out" sexually that do. They dote on their spouses and their spouse be it man or woman would be just some of the same ones saying "faithful love" in a forum like this and yes arguing their point. Ignorance truly is bliss.0 -
i have my true love and I'd take him over anything! javascript:add_smiley('love','post_body')0

Sure, people are crappy and unfaithful. But that doesn't mean that I'm stupid to trust my husband.0 -
I don't see it as an either or. I don't think I or my true love could be happy if we were sitting by the side of the road with a "HELP homeless and need food" sign if I she or I really couldn't get a job. Nor do I see wealth (I'm not a material person so we have money from not buying a bunch of stuff that other HAVE to have) as a means to happiness if that is the first thing that someone is concerned with.
I can have both pretty equally.
