Take the total calories in the cake mix (just the mix, not with the ingredients) and then multiply by the number of servings there are supposed to be. That's going to be your CAKE TOTAL for our purposes here.

Figure your total number of calories for the egg whites based on whether you use 1 or 2 and will call that your EGG TOTAL.

    CAKE TOTAL
    +
    EGG TOTAL
    +
COOL WHIP AND ANY OTHER TOPPINGS
    =
    TOTAL NUMBER OF CALORIES
    / (divide by)
    # of servings
    =
    TOTAL CALORIES PER SLICE

Does this work with sparkling water?

    yes

I did it with walmart's "clear american" strawberry flavored carbonated water, strawberry cake mix, fat free cool whip and a fresh strawberry on top of each slice.
The people at work had no idea it was a "diet cake".

It still ends up fairly high cal, high sugar, high carb, etc, as you still do eat the cake mix itself, all it saves you is the egg and oil calories....

I can't speak to the "healthy" aspect of it, you're replacing a good healthy egg with artificial sweeteners to save a couple of calories a slice....so I would rather just have the real cake in moderation...

    But on the positive side:

It works with JUST the soda and cake mix, so it is great for someone with an egg allergy, AND it tastes great and mine came out really moist.

since soda isn't healthy I decided to try it with diet sparkling water, I've made funfetti, yellow, and brownie mix with it. All were AMAZING
