Ohio isn't exactly 'exciting'. In the mornings on the bike path I see 'swarms' of Cardinals. It's nice to see the color!0
-
I usualy see a handfull of one eyed trouser snakes....:noway:
I need a new route, mine is kinda scetchy!!0 -
I live less than a mile from a preserved wilderness area around part of a major river in my area (but very small compared to, say, the Mississippi  ). A couple if weeks ago (last time I walked there) I saw a lot of migratory waterfowl, especially Canadian Geese and a pelican, and also a red-winged blackbird. Last summer my family saw a beaver (when I wasn't there :ohwell: ).
Do ants count? There was a whole nest of them on the way home.0 -
I saw this beautiful Cougar at the gym. I wanted to go up and pet her but thought better of it.
^^^^^ bwah-hahahahaha!
I see typical American suburban animals -- dogs, cats. Usual birds are mourning doves, robins, finches, sparrows. However there is one semi-rural neighborhood I go through that has sheep, goats, and all kinds of game birds/pheasants, plus an albino peacock! That is pretty special.0 -
Several dogs, assorted sparrows, robins, crows, finches, starlings.... bunny roadkill and a hawk circling overhead.0
-
Around the neighborhood its not much more than the usual dogs...however I often see frogs and toads covering the roads, sometimes they jump where my foot hits the ground!0

I go cycling round the new forest so I saw a lot of ponies wandering freely, rabbits, loads of different birds, squirrels, dogs being walked, a few cats. I also saw a bird of prey catch something and land to eat it. I tried to get a closer look, but it flew elsewhere when I simply moved at a distance. I think it was a buzzard or some sort of eagle, as it was pretty large. First time I have seen one close up in the wild.
Apparently there are pigs loose in the forest too, but not come across those yet. I have seen deer in fields not so long ago either. I love being surrounded by nature, and away from the city and other humans.0 -
I saw this guy and 4 manatees.
I want to live where you are!0 -
The trails I run are right along Truman lake/Lake of the Ozarks, so I see lots! Geese, ducks, fish, deer, snakes, lizards, racoons, opossums, skunks, squirrels, the occasional bald eagle, they have nests all along the bluffs, so pretty...your basic Misssouri wildlife! I love being able to exercise outside! It would be awesome to see a kangaroo or mantatee, guess I'll have to take a vacation and go for runs
Oh and there are mountain lions here...that's kinda scary! But I've only seen one from my car!0 -
Yesterday on my bike ride I saw 1 deer. I have seen up to 10 in one herd. But yesterday it was just the one.0

seagulls, squirrels, lizards, ants0

we have an alligator in our pond in the subdivision, luckily its a pretty big pond and he usually stays in the middle! Across the road there is horses, donkeys, and every once in a while I hear roosters crowing.0
-
I saw a wallaby the other day and today I saw a group of kangaroos...yep I live in Australia and I'm on a farm in the country....unlike what you may think that are not bounding down the main streets of the capital cities hee hee.
LOL!! One thing I want to ask, are they agressive? The other poster from Australia said she was scared of them.0 -

You must live in Florida. I live on a lake in Lakeland FL and when I walk my dog around it, there is a big gator that just stalks us (he stays in the water) and follows us. I guess he's waiting for us to go in the lake and he can have a doggy appetizer!!!0 -
What a fun topic!
On my last run I saw:
--Neighborhood dogs & cats on my way to my running path
--Canada Geese
--Regular Geese
--Some really cool looking white waterbirds (no clue what they are)
--Various small birds
--Horses
--Cows
--Lots of pigeons
--Bugs. So many bugs.0 -
This morning there were squirrels, robins, geese, and lots and lots of rabbits!0
-
I saw an alligator tail, but once i told myself they weren't native to canada, and made myself go closer, it turned out just to be a chewed up pipe... so much for too much imagination.
other than that just squirrels, chipmunks, geese and cardinals, oh and lots of dogs.0 -
This is what I see most days:
Dogs
Horses
Wild turkeys
Geese
Deer
Rabbits
Squirrels

I gotta find a new place to run! I'm jealous of the all animals listed above. Besides all the gorgeous doggies taking their owners for a stroll, all I get are geese. Lots and lots of geese.0

This is so interesting! Can't believe some of you see snakes on a regular basis - I live in Ireland where there are no snakes and if I saw one I would FREAK OUT. It would provide me with some good sprint training, mind you...
This morning on the beach I saw a sea otter! Very rare over here so really exciting to see. There are often seals too.
Other interesting things I see -
Irish hares
Pheasant, partridge and snipe
Herons
Badgers - occasionally as they are nocturnal
Our neighbour breeds miniature goats So cute!!
The hunt keeps their hounds down the road so I often see them out exercising.
When I go hiking I sometimes see wild goats and deer.0 -
Stepped on a cottonmouth snake the other day while running on a trail near a swamp. I didn't even realise I stepped on him until I heard it hiss and try to bite my leg. That definetly got me moving a little faster!0

Goats, cows, horses, chickens, and rabbits. Heard coyotes, but did not see them.0

I know there are snakes & coyotes out there, but thankfully neither have crossed my path (yet). :bigsmile:0 -

Two Deers ran tentively across the road in front when I was cycling yesterday. We stared at each other when they'd found the safety of another field.
