So I probably won't make my challenge goal, but I still feel great about 10lbs (15lbs if you count back to when I actually started this journey in the beginning of March).

May was so terrible. All the worst things happened and I feel like I'm barely pulling myself back together. I've been needing to focusing on life and not harp on micromanaging my food intake. I think I'm getting back in the the swing of things though. Been back to the bike commute and eating home cooked food again. I got my first triathlon wet suit yesterday and I begin the open ocean group swim clinic in 2 weeks. Now I just need to get back in the gym.

    Thank you Kristen!

Congrats to all the big losers this week! (that always makes me giggle).

There seems to be several of us following the "two steps forward, one step back" method... This may seem mean, but at least I'm not alone on the "slow moving scale program"! If it was only me I would feel bad about my progress since I seem to be doing all the right things without the progress to match my efforts.

So... Shout out to all the ladies working their butts off and going nowhere!! Eventually the scales will move and we'll all still be here when it happens because we rock!! :glasses:

Ok... Would someone else like my soapbox now? :flowerforyou:

I totally agree! I've spread out my calories (breakfast, lunch, dinner, bedtime snack), zig zagged them, got my ratio a little closer to what it should be, increased my workouts (burn about 700-750 calories at least 6 days a week) so something's got to give soon!! I'm losing inches and sizes, but the darn scale just won't do what I want it to! I'm going to put it on ignore soon and just hang out with my measuring tape... It's so much nicer to me. LOL

Just out of curiosity, how did you gain 23 pounds in a week? I don't think that's even remotely possible :-/ Did you switch scales?? Even so, still doesn't seem possible. I'm just curious!

Did not mean to miss weigh in again. With 3 small grand children here for 2 weeks for swimming lessons it keeps me running and I missed the deadline again. My eating has changed tremendously with them here as well as no workouts other than chasing with them. Hoping to get back on track.

Challenge! I guess it's my turn to give a challenge! This week I have decided to challenge myself by switching up my exercise routine a bit. I get bored and need to switch things up so I don't give up completely! Instead of jogging on a treadmill, I'm going to start jogging outside today and see if I like it. Thats my challenge to everyone! Please feel free to join me by switching up your exercise routine. Maybe by trying something new to see if you enjoy it. Maybe a new class (I want to give Piloxing a try) or that machine you have seen in the gym that you have been curious about trying out. Possibly even an exercise DVD! Let me know how you are going to switch things up and how it works for you! Good luck!

Hi All - sorry this is late! I was online yesterday reading thru everyone's posts - but ran out of time & didn't get all the way up to date.

CHALLENGE: Today (or as soon as you are reading this) - Plan out your next 3 days of meals & snacks. Planning ahead is the pathway to success! Good luck all :)

Also, if anyone has noticed that I suddenly dropped them from my friend's list - please see below! My kids have caused chaos!

I must have left my iPod on the MFP screen & one of my kids pressed something & deleted some of my friends! Now I have to figure out who's missing! The main victims seem to have had a screen name starting w/ B or C. I don't want any of my dear MFP friends to think I ditched them! Everyone on my list is someone I've done a challenge with who has common goals, struggles & dreams. I luv u guys!! Your encouragement means so much! So, if you ever notice me to disappear from your friends list, please message me ASAP - it means the kids are at it again - pressing buttons to get out of mommy's boring app & onto Fruit Ninja or something. Hugs, Amy

    Have a great week everyone!

    Amy

I can't believe this challenge is almost over and the scale did nothing
but go up and down through the whole challenge. Summer is difficult with all
our boating get togethers but there is one thing I will do at the next pot luck dinner.
I will take a dessert plate and fill it instead of the big large plates.
Then if I am hungry I will go back. This should cut down on the calories consummed.

Talk about planning ahead with your meals. I went out to Applebees for
lunch with a friend yesterday and had the Fiesta Chicken Chopped Salad w/ dressing
on the side and a club soda with lemon. I got home and punched it in on my tracker
and it was 880 calories. That blew my whole day of calories and I was over!!:explode:

Planning ahead is key. I will take that challenge !!!

Well I've already got the switch your exercise routine challenge down as my temporary gym membership while I'm on vacation has expired and so I've taken up doing my C25K program outside for the week, at least until we head to our final destination next week and I can see how the humidity treats me when it comes to outside exercising. I'm predicting it will go horribly as I'm from Houston and I've always HATED it.

    Hi all,

I wasn't able to read the chart the other day (had those red "x" boxes).... but I can see it today, and think I may have earned my title this week in error :(

I think it's showing a 25.2 weight loss to date, and I think my actual weight loss to date this challenge is 11.8#'s. I'll PM Kristin.

On another note - I'm taking on the try something new exercise challenge this week & taking the kids to a "Sky Zone" trampoline indoor play park today. I may wear Spanx to control the jiggling, but fingers crossed I don't make too much of a fool of myself! If I remember, I'm going to wear my Heart Rate monitor so I can see what kind of burn I get in an hour.

    Hugs,

    Amy

Wow...this sounds like a lot of fun! I hope you and the kids have a real blast...how lucky they are to have a Mom who can, and will, do things like this with them!

I'm sure you won't make a fool of yourself...the other Mom's will be wishing they were you, and the other kids will be thinking what a cool Mom! Go for it...you only live once, and your children are only kids for such a short time...you are making great memories for all of you! :drinker:

So this week's weight was from yesterday (as Friday is my official weigh day) but it would totally figure that I would hop on the scale this morning (because I had seen a 249 number on Wednesday and wanted to see what happened overnight after working out yesterday) and wouldn't you know it....247.1! But alas, it is no longer my official weigh day so that pretty new number doesn't count. *sigh* Oh well, I've still got two weeks left in this challenge to finish strong and hopefully reach that number on an official weigh day and then blow it out of the water come the beginning of July. :)

And we begin the final leg of our vacation/move/journey/PCS/whatever you want to call it on Tuesday, when we leave my in-law's house and drive to Texas so that my husband can get to work on time on Wednesday. So here's to hoping that I can stay on track and eat healthy while driving 12 hours with a 16 month old in one car and the 5 1/2 year old in the other car with my husband. I'm planning on buying healthy snacks and putting proper portion sizes in ziploc bags so that way I'm not just grabbing a bag of chips and a thing of candy every time we stop at the gas station. I'm also planning on bringing a loaf of bread and some pb&j to eat at the rest stops even if my husband hates sliced bread...
