Do women not look at the toilet first...
How do you fall in b/c the seat is up? Shouldn't you look AT the toilet as you're walking to it?
I've never understood the whole "I fall in if the seat isn't left down" argument.
however, when the gf is in town, I do leave the seat down b/c it's polite. But I've never understood the arguments.

I am 100% on your side here. And do they not look as they leave it??? You wouldn't believe what I have to clean after other women at work use the restroom. CHECK before and after people!!!!!!!!!!! Gross. lol0
-
It's funny that you mentioned that. Yah, you have to be looking at it when you walk in, right? I've never fallen in, seems like you would have to back-in in the dark to fall in.
But I still want the seat down because I don't like to touch the seat unless I'm there to clean it with gloves on. OCD.0 -
When it's dark, and we are sleepily stubbling into the bathroom, We don't look. Thus our *kitten* goes in the toilet, and the water is very cold... PLUS yall pee on the rim, and we sit in it.0

I always look at the toilet... There could be poo on the seat... Who knows!!!?
And as for the seat, if it were ever up... I'd just put it down with my toe...0 -

...and I never got this idea. Seat and top ok down, but up is bad.0 -
I always look, but I hate when it is up because I hate having to touch the toilet seat to put it down. I usually grab a little piece of toilet paper to put it down.0

Well, I don't really relate to the peeing on the rim, b/c I clean my bathroom a few times a week.
But, maybe you should turn the light on if you can't see in the dark0 -
I pee in the shower, it's so much easier.0

^Agreed. I don't bother with the light when I wake up at night, and a cold fall in sucks so bad.0 -
Personally, I would much rather you leave the seat up than not put it up in the first place. Sitting on pee splashes is gross.0
-
pretty sure they walk in the bathroom backwards0

it really is! and you can practice peeing standing up too.0 -
One word: lazy. We do it. So can you.0

Once upon a time I was sleeping on the couch at a friend's house. The roommates were three dirty, dirty men.
I was drunk as a skunk, it was pitch black, and I accidentally sat down on the toilet with the seat up. I did NOT fall in. I balanced momentarily then got up, put the seat down, and went on with my life.
If I can manage that while intoxicated, I think most females should be able to handle themselves sober.
Just sayin'.0 -
always look ..inspect for pee splatter.0

I have only "fell is" once in the middle of the night in the dark b/c I was half asleep. I have gotten very used to my husband leaving the seat up and it's not like it weighs a ton to put it back down. It really isn't that big of a deal to me.0
-
I only time I have ever almost fallen into the toilet was when I left the seat up after cleaning it. Talk about feeling stupid. My husband and sons always put the seat down. I'm the only who forgets and its always after I've cleaned the toilet.0
-
It's understood in my home that hubby lifts the lid up and I put it down, that way we are both equal. No arguments = happy toilet time0
-
I do.. and I dont get all mad when its not down.. I mean, I use it down, you use it up, whats the big deal, just take it down yourself!0
-
I've never understood why it's only polite for a man to leave it down but not for a woman to leave it up. Courtesy works both ways. When I was just dating my husband and I was at his place, I always put the seat back up since it was his place.
I'm more concerned that you actually aimed for and got it all in the bowl.0 -
I'm pretty sure this is just people trying to be cute. If you want your life to be easier then ask... you never know :laugh:0

lol, I do my body weight squats while I'm peeing in the shower, too.0 -

THIS!!!! omg I work with a bunch of freaking barn animals. Seriously ladies... don't hover just sit on the damn seat like a normal human being.0 -
My 16 year old daughter sat in the toilet in the middle of the night a few weeks ago and couldnt get out. Man, you would have thought we had a murderer in the house the way she screamed. Funny as hell!!!0

This is what my fiancee explained to me too in regards to why she wants me to put the seat down. Apparently it's fine that I have to touch it though =P0 -
Yes....but, I'm a clutz and when I go to pee in the middle of the night and the nightlight casts a funky shadow it makes it look like the toilet seat is down. Or when I'm doing the funky chicken because I have to pee so bad, my mind plays tricks on me and makes me think it's down.
Good men should just give in to a woman's uncertainties and put the f*#^$)@ toilet seat down to save us the embarrassment.0 -
I generally look at it unless its the middle of the night and Im half asleep... Not a great sudden wake up0
-
Yes I look. It's not something that I will always remember to do though, I don't expect to have to check every time.
So occasionally if it's dark and I've just come down in the middle of the night to use the toilet, I won't. I wouldn't like to be woken up by falling in the toilet!! (I don't actually fall in, but almost!) Thankfully my bf has never failed to put the seat back down in the whole 6 years I've know him :happy:0 -

I was just about to post my drunken toilet seat was left up story...only mine ends with me at my dads house drunk with my butt stuck in the toilet because he had left the seat up...you must be so much more graceful than I have ever hoped to be!0
