My wife gave me a heart rate monitor last year. It recorded a resting heart rate of 56 and I weighed around 260 at the time, maybe more. Not sure.
Recently my resting heart rate has come down to 41.
Right now the bad part is doing C25K I was hitting 99%(176) for max heart rate.
220-43 years old = 177 Max heart rate.
It is coming down to 94-96%
I have a doctor visit in a few days to check this out.
I have been checking my recovery heart rate recently.
Check exercise heart rate right at time or seconds before I enter rest period.
Get another heart rate reading 60 seconds after rest period begins.
I have seen some websites say to check at 1 minute and others say 2 minutes.
Anyway my recovery heart rate is averaging 25% which correlates to about 32-45 beat per minute recovery.
220 - Age is a very rough estimate of your max heart rate. My wife's max heart rate is a good bit higher than that formula suggests, and mine is a bit lower.
I know it's a rough estimate but the fact remains that it's high so to be safe I will check with a medical professional. A member of the family that is a medical professional was concerned by the numbers.
Thanks for the reply.0 -
Mine's 54, last time I checked (about a year ago) it was 60 something.0
