I'm hour glass shaped with a really really high waist! I have a 34 waist, around 42 hips and 40 bust. I'm not horribly out of shape but I really want to be able to go out with a halter top or a nice swimsuit without having to worry about people seeing my flab, you know what I mean?

run and strength training the fat will turn to lean muscle so you will still keep the curves

I probably posted here once, but I am hourglass-ish.

Current measurements (I think) are in the neighborhood of 43(34H)-34-45. I tend to look more pear than hourglass, as my hips are wider than my shoulders. Not completely sure where I will end up, so far I have been losing pretty evenly. Who knows, maybe I'll turn into an hourglass.

I'm 5'4, 39.5 chest (36D) 28 waist (6-8 jeans) 39 hips. Usually about 140 lbs, + or - 5 depending. It's been impossible for me to lose the last 10 lbs I'd like to lose to feel healthier. Most of that is distributed evenly between stomach, back of my arms and thighs. I was a competitive swimmer for several years and have fairly muscular legs though I've lost a lot of muscle strength in my core and arms since I had kids.

I suppose I'd fall into a classic hourglass. My body seems to stay relatively proportionate regardless of my weight.

    Currently

    Bust 38.5
    Waist 27.5
    Hips 38.5

At my smallest I was 34-22-34, although those would be impossible measurements to attain now at my age
Realistically if I can get to 37-25-37 I would be happy.

Ladies... I thought you measured your shoulders, natural waist, hips. That your shoulders and hips should be within an inch of each other, and your waist 8-15 inches smaller than hips and shoulders. Your bust doesn't have anything to do with it.

No, its Bust, Waist, Hips. Bust and Hips should be equal to each other and the waist should be at least 10" smaller than bust and hips.
At least that is how it has traditionally been assessed.

Interestingly most women identify as hourglass but in reality only about 8-10% of women actually fit the criteria.
