I love these books! Not the best writing but still pretty entertaining. I read they are making a movie...I am excited to see who they cast as Christian Grey!

I started one and couldn't finish. The writing is ridiculous. Just beyond bad. And I actually liked Twilight, so my standards are pretty low.

Also, I cannot believe some women are attracted to Christian Grey. In any way whatsoever. He's a grade-A douche. No wonder so many women have horrible relationships if this is what they find appealing.

It also confirmed to me that I am decidedly NOT into BDSM. Like, at all.

    Count me among the naysayers.

I bought the first one as an e-book when I first heard about it in the news 4 weeks ago. However, I quickly lost interest in the book as I got to one of the "real" scenes, and it turned me off how cheesy it was. I knew he was into what he was the minute he walked into that hardware store.

THANK YOU! he is actually pretty annoying to me. ugh, and yes the writing does doubly turn me off. It's trite and just very annoying to read through.

I was watching an interview with the author the other day and the deal has already been signed to make the books into movies. I can't wait to see who gets picked to play Grey!

I am half way through book 1. The writing isn't great but so far it is entertaining. I guess it helps if you like BDSM.

    Hahaha - love this.

Haven't read them. I've heard some really negative reviews about the writing, so I'm not sure I'll bother.

Like a few of you ladies here I am absolutely struggling through the first book. I find the sex to be very mediocre at best. NOT hot at all. I'm ok with the BDSM but so far what I've read has been very, very tame.

The main characters are very annoying, especially Anastasia. I get that you're inexperienced but if I have to hear one more thing that her "Inner Goddess" is doing I swear to GOD I'm going to scream! She is obnoxious and I'm sorry but with someone like Christian, I can not see how he'd want to be with Ana for one and secondly he's breaking ALL his Dom/Sub rules and letting her get away with a lot of things which I highly doubt anyone who was seriously into BDSM would do.

I actually skipped forward to find one sex scene in the Red Room Of Pain and I was sorely disappointed. I've heard great reviews about the book, every woman that I know has raved about it and how hot the sex supposedly is. Sorry to say but my sex IRL is a lot hotter and way more steamier than this crap.

With that said, at some point I probably will finish the book just because.

If you want to read a really well written very good erotic fiction novel that has a plot and makes you feel the characters I highly suggest "Broken" by Megan Hart. Very hot and very good.

I was wondering what the fuss was about but I probably won't now.

Bad writing, douche canoe male character and weak women? Not my cup of tea.

He's not a douche he's a Dom and she's supposed to be his Sub. It's (loosely) a story about BDSM.
