I just ate half a jar of Nutella!

Oh my goodness I did the exact same thing as well! I was just like just one tablespoon, so I scooped out a glob and a chocolatey mess dissolved in my mouth. I so wanted to stop, but I literally ate until I was physically ill and felt like throwing up. It was like caffeine; I couldn't sleep so I stayed up literally all night drawing. In the morning I was soooooooo dehydrated got a killer headache and was dizzy with every movement. I was never into nutella this much before today! Like I don't remember the last time I had it before today!
So I just decided to call it my cheat day...seeing as I was up to about 2400 calories just from nutella...I've never had a cheat day before, but now I'm introducing it every two months and trying to call it "no calorie counting day"...so I eat as much as I want, carelessly, but since I pretty much know the calorie content of a wide range of foods, I'm trying to just eat as much healthy food as I want, especially homemade fruit sorbet!
You'll be perfectly fine though. I'm just gonna follow the next few days with a "veggie washout", where I only eat veggies and egg whites. It's really quite delicious.
Have fun!0 -
Swap that tempting jar for something that is not going to set you back -
Bell Plantation makes a powdered peanut butter, that comes in two flavors.
Regular peanut butter and chocolate peanut butter.
You will be surprised at how good it really is - you just mix it with water and you have creamy peanut butter.
2 TBSP is only 45 calories and 1g fat!0 -
ahhh nutella does that 2 me aswel !0

Yes, I've done it too!! It's absolutely delicious, and slips down much too easily. I definitely prefer it straight from the jar, on it's own, rather than putting it on toast. As others have said, it's much too yummy, and "more-ish"!
I must say however, that I have not had a "nutella moment" so far this year!
If I lived on my own, I would never buy the stuff, but I tend to keep some in for my little niece who comes to stay occasionally - she loves it too, but she knows when to stop! Of course, what's happened in the past is that after she's gone, I've polished off the jar and then replaced it with another one - and so on!
I also like peanut butter on it's own, but thankfully I can't eat quite as much of that at one go, as it doesn't seem as moist as nutella.
Someone said this was a pointless thread, but I don't think so - it's made me feel better! Maybe we should start a support group for secret nutella addicts! :flowerforyou:0 -
DONT BUY IT FROM NOW ON - IT IS OFF THE LIST.0

Half a spoon of nutella and half a spoon of peanut butter (if I can stick to the half) - so freaking delicious I should be sent to hell immediately for enjoying something so sinful.
lol - me too! It's like a snickers!0 -
I love nutella, especially in those crepes with banana's and strawberry's from IHOP. Sigh, it has been a long, long, long time.0

It's made by the same company.0

Nutella single serve packets - they save lives

I'm just imagining people eating all 36 packets at once, hah.0 -
have never tried it and i won't cause i would probably not want to stop eating it
^^This^^
I have that problem with Ben and Jerry's. I can eat a whole pint in one sitting.0 -
Thats why I dont buy it. I cant buy peanut butter either, or, oddly enough, the premade meatloaf at the store. SOme foods I have no control over and eat the whole thing in one sitting.0
-
I dont keep that **** in my house. that would be like keeping crack in a crack house.
omg nothing healthy about it but I love love love it.0 -

Same here! I've heard so much about it, I just know I would eat the heck out of it if I ever tried it. I used to spoon peanut butter into a small bowl then stir in a large amount of chocolate syrup. It was like a melty peanut butter cup. I don't recommend trying it for anyone who is watching calories. I can't have chocolate syrup in the house anymore.0 -
Be sure to sue its manufacturer later for making it so delicious that you thought it was health food!

Mmmmmm...nutella with nice, fresh, crusty french bread...ack now I really want some! Darn you OP! :mad:0

I think you should log this so you can see its impact.0

Yep, Nutella is like crack. Once you start, it's hard to stop.
There's a reason, I don't trust myself enough to keep it in the house.
You should try the Philadelphia indulgence chocolate, a chocolatey spread that is not as bad as nutella0 -
I don't get the point of this post.
Me neither. I think I just lost my appetite for breakfast.0 -

I've only had the nutella to go, just tried it a couple of months ago and knew that I could never buy a jar of the stuff. My favorite candy is ferrero rocher. Last night, I skipped a few healthier options after dinner so that I could scarf down five of those suckers. So delicious. I REGRET NOTHING! Now we'll see if my morning workout suffers as a result. I STILL REGRET NOTHING!0

Well, it's too late for you, but hopefully your loved ones can learn from your downfall.0

Don't worry too much. I have read that there is a maximum calorie level that your body responds to, so basically if you hit 5,000, it does not matter if you go to 10,000.
Not an expert, its just what I read many years ago.0 -
Half a jar? I can eat a whole jar in one sitting! The big jar no less! Amateurs. lolol :-)0
-
Can I have the other half?0
-
Well I just kept eating it! At one point I wanted to stop, but I said no I will keep eating until I am physically ill and I am going to throw the rest away and never eat this chocolate crack again. Wow I feel gross!!! LOL
I'm the same way with peanut butter... It's a love/hate relationship...0 -

what happend?
if your like me, something good/bad happend that brought me to that point. could be something old that got on your mind. might not be immediately obvious at first.
Its worth examining this. Just knowing that i'm an emotional trigger eater allows me a fighting chance to realize whats going on before i'm at the bottom of the pb jar0 -

thats an awfully easy answer, isn't it?
I came away from a family party where i totally pigged out on pizza. i *****e about it alittle to my father, and he said 'its called WILL POWER!'
I thought to myself, well sometimes i love working out, but other days i hate popping in the insanity dvd... but i do it anyway. I thought i had a lot of will power... maybe i dont?
idk, food is such a psychological bit(h. it should be as easy as having enough discipline, and often it is, but sometimes it doesn't seem like enough and a little more insight into what causes your behavior can help.0 -
