I have been reading all your posts about the Refrigerator Oatmeal. I have all the ingredients to make them except I only have a box of Quick Oats... what would happen if I used Quick Oats? Anybody know?
They would probably just be a bit mushier but it should still work fine.0 -
So I didnt go through all 17 pages but since it's refrigerator oatmeal is it eaten cold obviously?
Ive never had cold oatmeal and not sure I'd be a fan ...
or do you heat it?0 -

I make the one with 1/4 cup blueberries and 1tbsp of maple-agave syrup. I do lactose free though, so lactose free milk and coconut culture instead of yogurt. Eat it almost everyday on my way to work. Amazing0

what does "bump" mean?0

I made some yesterday with steel cut oats and it is NOT done this morning. How long does it typically take for steel cut oats?
For the person asking what BUMP means, it basically can mean a couple things, typically on here, it adds the thread to "my topics" so the person can come back later and find it easily. Or it just means bumping the thread back to the front or top of of the page.0 -
I will try making this tonight!!0

Curious - Whats with the Chia seeds?
They have a lot of protein, antioxidents and omega3s. Plus, they absorb liquid so you feel full longer and help with it going through to "the other end!"
Thanks, i was going to ask the same thing...where would you get them?0 -

You are not supposed yo use Steel Cut oats... Only the Old fashined Oats... I do not think the steel cut will absorb like it is supposed to.I made some yesterday with steel cut oats and it is NOT done this morning. How long does it typically take for steel cut oats?

Powdered peanut butter? What is that? where do you get it?
It's exactly how it sounds (powdered). There's a brand of powdered peanut butter called PB2. They make it in regular and chocolate. It's about 85% lower in fat and whatnot because it doesn't have the added sugar and oils. It's great for adding to cold oats or smoothies. I buy mine on Amazon.0 -
Sorry if someone's asked before- but would it work with soy yoghurt/soy milk instead? (:0
-
My go to Cold Oats recipe is:
1/4 C. Rolled Oats
1/4 C. Uncle Sam original flax cereal
1/4 C. Plain or Vanilla Almond Milk
1/4 C. Fresh Blueberries
3 OZ. Fat free vanilla yogurt
1 TBS. Chia Seed
1 TBS. Quinoa
1 TBS. Milled Flax Seed
1 TSP. Brown sugar
All in all it's 430 Cal, but I think it's worth it.0 -

I don't see why not. I use almond milk instead of regular cow's milk and it works just fine. I imagine the same would go for substituting soy yogurt for regular.0 -

I use steel cut oats and only do them overnight. They are a bit chewy, but I like it like that.0
