    Why is Jack a nickname for John if they both have 4 letters?!

    For the same reason **** is a nickname for RIchard....but actually the trueness of it is Jack is supposed to be a nickname for JOnathan.

    So was John F. Kennedy's real name Jonathan? I thought John and Jack Kennedy were two different people for, like, a really long time. :ohwell:
