All things soy, except soy sauce. I can't eat anything that has tofu in it. The taste, smell, and texture make me gag. Eggplant, too. It is simply not a substitute for meat. Meat is not that slimy.

Silk Vanilla Coconut Milk. Yuck! It would've been pretty good without the thickeners they put in it, but the texture didn't match up to the taste. Just awful. I took one drink and threw the whole big container away. They call it "Pure Coconut Milk" but they put guar gum and carageenan in it, so it has a light watery flavor and a slimy thick texture.

lemme tell you, I LOVE BAGELS!!! bagels are the go with anything for breakfast/ lunch kinda food.
I thought " WOW! Thomas's makes a 110 calorie bagel thins... sounds great... less calories, less carbs oh im in heaven"
... that was until I bit into it!
    One word... YUCK!!
Cardboard has serious competition because these had absolutely nothing to do with tasting like a bagel. !!!
Never again will I torture myself like that.

Kale. Gahhh. It's like every health guru's Almighty and I HATE IT. I hate it plain. I hate it in salads. I hate it in smoothies (and I am a green smoothie pro). I hate it roasted. I hate it all! Lol. It tastes like... green, dirty, dirt.

    green dirty dirt!!
    that just tickled me...

Yeah, soy is wayyyy off my menu! I do not like it at all. I tried to like it for a while, bought different textures, etc. Nope!

vegan hotdogs. omgosh no. I did not like them all, they made me want to cry when i ate them. The taste stayed with me way to long too. I had been wanting a hotdog so bad at the time and reviews said they were really good. Lies, all lies.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm vegan hotdogs nom nom nom

Not all vegan/vegetarian hot dogs are bad. The Yves brand ones are delicious! Smart dogs are a little weird and the veggie patch brand ones taste odd, but the Yves ones are the closest I've found to the real thing. I love them!

Awh sadness *tear*.... I LOVE TOFU! Yumfest. I have found though, if it's not prepared correctly, it can be mushy and bland. Dry-frying (cook in a pan with no oil) then marinating is makes it heavenly

Coconut Milk. It was recommended for after I run, so I bought a case, not thinking to try ONE first before making such a large purchase.

YUCK. ... tasted like hot *kitten*. Really really really sweaty hot *kitten*. YUCK.

I made brownies with applesauce instead of oil. The texture was horrible. It was like chewing on a kitchen sponge dipped in chocolate. Ick! I will just stick to low fat brownie mix and limit myself to a little one with a scoop of really good vanilla ice cream next time.

The oil in brownies is probably the healthiest part. The rest is mostly just white flour and sugar.

Try pumpkin puree instead of applesauce.
I cannot stand the taste of pumpkin. Even the smell makes me want to throw up.

Almond butter. I love peanut butter and love almonds, so almond butter sounded like something I would love. But no, it's not horrible but peanut butter is so much better and less expensive. I gave the jar away and just stick to unground almonds now.

I love almond butter! It's good on apples. :)

Hmm...I know I've had disappointing foods...most of them from Denny's lol. I remember having those microwaveable brownies in college where you would squeeze the caramel on it before baking it....bleachhhhh. It tasted soggy or burnt. I couldn't get a good consistency. Awww shoot.

Another one for me is Greek Yogurt. People on MFP praise the almighty Greek Yogurt. For me, I cannot even choke it down. It is aweful. Regular yogurt I really enjoy. Not sure what my deal is. Hmm.

Try different brands of the greek yogurt. The first one I tried I hated, but others are not bad. My fav - Dannon Oikos I either do the vanilla or the plain and add a bit of honey.

Mine too! Dannon Oikos is the only one I can eat! Everyone is always talking about Chobani, so I tried some, took 3 bites and threw it away! Nasty!

I was super excited to try this Peanut Butter & Company dark chocolate mixed with peanut butter, it looked so delicious and what could be wrong with dark chocolate and peanut butter, right? Here I am, set to eat a delicious treat with my apple and, frankly, it was absolutely disgusting. It basically tastes like I am chewing on cardboard and the aftertaste just lingers!! What a disappointment!!

With that in mind, any of the rest of you look forward to a snack or product gleefully, only to find out that it was a bust? Let us spread the word!!

*To interject a disclaimer, I understand that people's tastes are different and may not agree with the assessment I gave. Just want to put that out there!! :drinker:

Sorry .. but i love the PB & Co... have you tried the white chocolate.!!

Chocolate Philadelphia cheese. To me it's like very low-grade chocolate and again, left a really nasty after taste and feel in my mouth.

OMG I LOVE THIS STUFF!! I live in Canada where that is not sold, and when I went for a trip to Montana recently I discovered it. I bought a tub just to try it and I should have bought more!! I can't get enough!!

I am always pretty dissapointed in anything I make substituting ground poultry (chicken or turkey) for beef. In reality, it's probably more because I'm not a very experienced cook and I don't know what spices or whatever to make it taste good, but it always tastes so bland to me.

Oh, and just a side rant for me. I'm so tired of seeing these "90 calorie brownie" posts! I get so excited, only to be let down. I can't say that I've ever made them, but I'll read the recipe, which is always involving applesauce or greek yogurt or something...but then find out the serving is like a 1" X 1" square. Really?!? I'm pretty sure I could make a NORMAL brownie, eat a 1 inch square and it wouldn't be any worse for me! haha!

I tried that Silk Fruit and Protein stuff. OMG sooo disgustingly sweet. I tried to use it up in smoothies (just using a tiny bit and plain milk to dilute it even more), and it even ruined those. Gross.

I like the Silk Protein and so does my daughter. I still enjoy sweet things though. Now you can take greek yogurt and toss it in the garbage. I actually have the two times I tried it! Yuk!

Nutella. Had a boyfriend years back who was obsessed. I tried it and thought, "why the hell would anybody choose this over peanut butter?"

I tried Fiber One's 90 calories brownies and they were AWFUL! It tasted like powdered chalk on the inside. And all that "bleached/enriched" flour...yuck!

have they changed the recipe or something? I thought it tasted just like a reeces pb cup. I love the stuff!
My lunch at Wendy's was a complete let-down today... for a place I only go once a quarter or so, I was disappointed.

I'm sitting at my desk laughing because I like all the things that most people on this thread hate... I'm a complete freak of nature & love tofu, shiritaki noodles, almond milk, almond butter, mango cream bars, brownies made w/ applesauce (though canned pumpkin tastes a wee bit better and is better on consistency too), Fiber One brownies.

I think I'm just an eating machine LOL

I didn't warm mine up since the microwave at work was on the fritz again. Maybe I should give them another shot someday.

Nutella! I love hazelnuts and chocolate, but this was just horrible. :noway:

I know that there are some Nutella lovers out there that may take offense to this, but it just wasn't for me. :ohwell:
