Most annoying NSV ever.

I live near enough to the gym that sometimes I walk there and back.
Yesterday, while I was walking back from the gym, not one but TWO guys, completely separate incidents, about a half mile from each other slow rolled me in their cars and asked for my number.
This also happened the day before yesterday walking home from the light rail...
I have a long way to go, but I have slimmed down enough for it to be really noticeable. When I started, it had been about 10 years since that's happened to me.
It creeps me out, and no one got my number out of it (I have a boyfriend after all) but STILL it's an NSV, even if it's weird.
Do boys just do this? Is this NORMAL boy activity?

I think it is "normal" in urban areas because I get it somewhat regularly nowadays and I'm not especially special looking lol
Congrats! I hope you continue to get attention (as long as its flattering and not too creepy)!0 -
This type of behavior is normal for 'boys' , not men,,,.. especially if your on "foot patrol".0

Just got back from 3 days in Vegas where NO ONE hit on me at all ;-p That's NEVER happened there before, so I'm using it as motivation to get lean and mean before I go back next summer!0

Oh, and it's not that I was particularly hot in the past, but it's Vegas, you know? I don't think I'm dog-awful now, but still... it was a bit disappointing in an odd sort of way.0 -

uh... yes normal boy-man activity!0 -
I got whistled at today while pushing my baby in her buggy!! Maybe they were whistling at her, she is pretty cute :bigsmile:0

Take it for the complement it is. You've apparently done well. This is the pay off.0

OMG I've been experiencing that same problem ever since I lost the weight & officially got fit. I guess its because we are starting to become more confident with ourselves as we progress in our journey that attracts a lot of guys.
Keep it up, you're doing great!0 -

Its very normal for buys and men to act this way. Nothing gets me more upset then when I am with my kids who are 5 and 8 and they cat call or say things to me in front of them. Why do that in front of kids? I don't get that at all? Congrats on your weight lost!0

I can't believe I have a NSV... I was hit on*! I was actually shocked once I realize what was happening.
* I don't really think being hit on counts when it is a fast food drive-up window that the person handing the food over to me, if not a current meth addict, had been one within the past 24 hours to 5 weeks.0 -
you said light rail and i thought, hmm i bet she is from sacramento! And i was right.
P.s that is normal! Congrats on your annoying NSV!0 -

Yeah, I hate that. Guys do this to me regularly. I usually have a child or two with me but apparently that means nothing to the guys that do this.
*It has gotten to the point where I am just completely rude to them and tell them to *kitten* off, even if I have my kids. Sometimes I even lecture them about manners and what is appropriate and what is not. If they bother me enough, like drive by more than twice all hell breaks loose and I may or may not throw something at them.0 -
Take it as a compliment. Your hard work is paying off.0
-
It's pretty normal, just can be creepy depending on the guy. I had one try to leave his car and come after me :noway:
Otherwise, just take the compliment0 -
Is there anything more annoying than an attractive girl complaining about getting hit on? It's not like they were going all Night at the Roxbury on you. If a guy can't ask a strange girl for a simple phone number, how the hell do babies get made?0
-

Yes, b/c there aren't any single moms out there who want to date a guy who isn't turned off by children. SMH0 -
Streeeeeeet haraaassment. It's definitely more noticeable now that I've lost weight, but men who think they have the right to get up in your space while you're walking around minding your business will always be creeps. However, congrats on your loss ;D0
-
oh wow...guys do that when seeing you with a child? i don't even look at a girl with a child  she can be a beauty pageant queen or miss universe...that's disrespect0

I highly doubt a single mother of two is going to get with a guy who is hooping and hollering at you from a car in the street.0 -
Yes, it's definitely a guy thing as women would never be caught yelling out in public like that to men. Frankly I don't get it. It's happened to me at gas stations.....they stare and then do the "Mmmm, mmm" as they hold the door open for me. Yucko, makes me cringe. Don't they realize how creepy that is? Or watching me pump my gas from their vehicle and then yelling "bye beautiful" as a whole car full of them pulls off.....weird!!! Grown men at that!!0
-
" ...... Do boys just do this? Is this NORMAL boy activity? ....."
It's kind of creepy, like stalking ..... that's how my sister met her husband ..... he was a creep ..... I rest my case ......
BTW, congrats on the weight loss !0 -

you too huh?0 -
Well, I have that happens to me ALL the time, super market, walking, @ that bank or with all the kids...Looks, whistles, asking how im doing, if i say "I'm fine, thanks" they may reply "YOU SURE ARE" . I figured it is all part of being a beautiful woman no matter what you size. I take it as flattering, politely say no, or thank you for the compliment (if one was given) and keep it moving. I dont thenk they mean any harm, but if they didn't ask....they may think they are missing out on a good thing...:blushing:0
-
Well I would take it as a NSV win, no man has ever asked for my number...lol and if they did I'd take that as a win0

Is there anything more annoying than an attractive girl complaining about getting hit on?
Pretty much this. IMO it's not really a complaint, it's their way of announcing to the world "I'm hot, pay attention to me." If the men are rude, it's one thing, but I often hear women complaining about men hitting on them in ways that are not particularly rude/inappropriate. Yawn. It's not like they were going all Night at the Roxbury on you.
My then boyfriend (now husband) and his best friend did this to me once. In the middle of a fairly busy parking lot. I just about died laughing.0 -
First, what the heck is NSV???
Secondly, yes this is normal.
I've also lost a lot of weight, but I used to get it when I heavy, too. Honks, hollers from across the street, trying to talk to me while I'm running by. This male behavior baffles and frustrates me. Yes, I suppose the easy thing to do would be to take it as a compliment. But I can't help but find it disrespectful. I don't like being yelled at or honked at, especially not at 6am while I'm trying to have a quiet, peaceful run.
I was even standing at a red light one time, and this guy in a truck across the intersection was shouting to get my attention, asking for my number and to take me out later that night. I continued shaking my head politely, which I guess he thought meant I needed more convincing, so he took out a stack of cash to show me. Yes, really. What makes it even more embarrassing is that other people witness this, and kind of watch to see how you'll react.
There are nice ways to let a girl know that you find her attractive. Ways that actually make her feel good instead of like an object.0
