Marvhub, WOW! That's an awesome job...75 pounds in 5 months! If you'd like your ticker to reflect your success just go to "Tools," "Ticker" then "Update weight" & enter your starting weight. I've lost almost 50 & it helps me to be reminded of how far I've come! Good luck on your journey! You're doing amazing!0

89 pounds in 14 1/2 months. For me that is fast since before it has normally taken me a year to lose 50...But after seeing that some people on this thread lost over 80 pounds in only 6 months, I guess my loss wasn't that fast. I wonder if they had gastric bypass. Anyway, slow is the best way anyway.0

Do you stricktly use mfp to lose that amount of weight? Are you excersizing? That is really good and I would really like to lose about 30 pounds in 3 months.A little over 3 months......54lbs...0

So far 70 lbs in a little under 5 months. Excessive weight loss in a very short period of time is usually losing muscle mass. Remember, muscle weighs more per cu. in. than fat does so if it is moving like 20-30 lbs per month... it is likely due to losing some lean body mass... not such a desirable effect. The key is slow and steady.. Yes I have lost quite a bit per month... 13-15 lbs per month BUT I was significantly obese to start with, I have pushed protein and careful weight resistance training AND my lifting capacity has INCREASED significantly during the process which suggests to me that I am able to at least maintain muscle mass/strength. Be careful with very rapid weight loss unless you are under a doctor's care and extremely obese.0

the first 170 pounds I lost took 17 months (just 1500 cal diabetic diet), next 200 pounds I lost took 9 months (1200 cal healthy choice and walking ...6 weeks was varient 600-800 liquids cal) and next 15 pounds I lost over 3 months. I am maintaining now until pannectomy surgery the end of June... they say I could lose a bit with it.0
