Do you use the same bath towel every day??

I wash mine once a week. Sometimes I'll grab a new one before the week is up, but not often.0

I use mine for about three or four showers, but I hang it to dry in between and I alternate between two towels. To be honest, I wish I could wash it more often, but that would mean more trips to the laundromat and I really don't want to/don't have enough quarters to do that!0

I do the same thing!! And to be honest I think it's weird that other people think it's weird that we do that.
I don't think it's weird, I'd love to have fresh towels (and sheets) every day.
But, I think it's wasteful - how much water are you using to wash towels everyday? Maybe that doesn't matter in some parts of the world, but its a big deal here. And I wouldn't be prepared to pay the power or take the time either!0 -
You're all washed and clean after a bath and you use the towel only to dry yourself. So why wash the towel after every use? Once a week is good enough IMO.
I agree!0 -
I use a new towel every time.
Sure you are clean, but your rub your skin with the towel and the thought of skin cells schluffing off onto the towel or what if the part of the towel you used to dry your butt is the part your are drying your face off with next time...
Nope.
Fresh towel for a fresh shower
My thoughts exactly! I always use a fresh towel too.0 -
I wash mine once a week and always hang towels out to dry after use. I think it's a total waste of detergent, water and energy to wash them after each use. I also wouldn't get the time or space to do this if i washed towels for every person in the house after each use.0
-
About once a week. I mean, you're clean when you're using it.0
-
One use and they get washed. But we have enough towels so that we only have to wash a load of towels about once a week.0
-
Ewwwww of course I don't use the same one every day! Who does that?!?!0
-
About once a week, maybe a little more often if they have any kind of stale funk. I use one on my hair, turban style, and one on my body, and hang them to dry when I'm done.0
-
I do now. I use to not. I got a really bad staph infection last year, and now I am a little OCD clean about a LOT of stuff. lol0
-
Wednesday - new sheets, new towels.
Then again, I take 5 showers a week at the gym, with their towels, so mine only gets used once or twice per week.0 -
We use the same towels for 2 days, then change them.0
-
3 x is the max in our house0
-
New one every time I shower, which is sometimes twice a day!0
-
I use the same one Monday - Saturday then wash them on Sunday. I don't have my own washer and dryer so I only do laundry once a week at a laundrymat. When I lived at home, my mom washed them after every use and I believe she still does. This was something I started when I moved out on my own to college to save money on laundry, etc. I generally only do laundry once a week even when I did have a washer and dryer in my apartment.
They just get wet and then when I hang it up over the shower, it's dry by the next day. No big deal.0 -

Fresh towel for a fresh shower
^^This. I don't think you're weird at all, love.0 -
Hmmm, maybe that's why my towels unravel so often! I know I'm clean when I use them, but it still makes me think, yuck!0
-
Damp towels breed bacteria. I don't think you're weird :flowerforyou: I'm a two-use-max person myself.
Thanks! I feel better, if only one person thinks I'm not weird!
I am the same way.. about two uses..0 -
Once per week:bigsmile:0
-
I'm weird about this too. I use two towels... One I wrap my hair in and one to dry myself. The one i used to dry myself with today will be hung up and used as my hair towel tomorrow. And today's hair towel went in the laundry. So two uses in rotation. Did that make sense?? Ha
I do the same thing :laugh:0 -
Until I remember to wash it0
-
I wash my towel 1-2 times a week.0
-
I use them until they stink.. I really HATE the smell of bad towels..
Me too on both accounts.0 -
I use mine 3-4 times before I wash it......0
-
After one use for me, its been my way since forever. If I was to reuse a towel it would freak me out, which isn't saying its the dirty, just not my way...ok that sounded OCDish :S0

I use the same towel for about a week but at the end of every day I handwash my towels in handwash detergent and nappysan (that is the towles for the whole family so 6 of us) and hang them above the aga to dry for the next day. I boil wash them once a week. With the trips being at the mucky age of 3 we have enough laundry already and I think my machine would pack up and leave if I flogged it any more than I do already! (FYI I also handwash some of the kids clothes too if they look like they might survive another day)
I hate the idea of dirty towels. Its not the fact that I have dried myself but the skin cells etc that they pick up when you rub yourself dry.0 -
Use one towel a week thereabouts, face clothes I'll wash every couple days..0
-
come to think of it, we SHOULD wash every day. I know we shower to clean ourselves but after wiping our privates and putting it up to dry, then later using the part we wiped our privates to wipe our faces without knowing is kinda yuck.
but yeah, im one of those people that wash towels every 2-3 weeks. :C0 -
Depends on the weather. It gets pretty humid down here in the south east, so some weeks it has to be a one and done sort of use for towels, and guests always get fresh towels every day.
But usually for personal use it's more like a rotation of a few towels over the course of a week. (actual color patterns vary, but you get the idea)
Monday--orange towel
Tuesday--blue towel (because orange is a tab bit damp)
Wednesday--back to the orange towel, then toss in hamper
Thursday--blue towel again, then toss in hamper)
Friday--brown towel
Saturday--purple towel
Sunday--brown towel again, then into the hamper (and time to do laundry)
Etc. With laundry day rotating as the need for clean clothes and towels dictates.
My dad is a microbiologist and our family still reused bath towels growing up, so long as they got dry enough first. As with many things, if it wasn't enough to freak out the microbiologist, then it usually doesn't phase me. (And a few things that did freak him out--like wooden spoons--I don't worry about... although I never use a wooden cutting board for meat.) Your bathroom door and sink handles are probably a heck of a lot ickier than a twice used bath towel.
Now as for kitchen towels and dish cloths--those were changed out multiple times a day and sponges were absolutely banned from the kitchen, let alone reused. My SO and I have gotten into it (mildly) over sponges. He buys them and I trash them. End result is that I end up cleaning the kitchen regardless of who made the mess. :P0
