Anyway-during that three weeks, I got set back about 10-15 pounds from where I was, on average (I do different amounts depending on the machine, and that was the average loss). ie: My incline press had been 65 pounds, and it went back down to 50. My overhead had been 55 pounds, and it went back down to 45. I recovered quickly, though, and was back to where I was before my break after about about five or six sessions (a week and a half).

I've noticed similar responses. A drop and then a quick rebound when I pick the weights back up. Awesome job on the ohp... I'm at 55 now.

OP you MUST APOLOGIZE for the insulting things you said. Obviously you were being rude & people have been given you awesome advices & yet dismiss al these things. I wanted to offer you an advice but I chose not to because I don't see why would I help somebody who act like they know everything. Sorry but you deserve a slap on your face

Well for goodness sake wait a few weeks before you slap her - by that time her strength gains would have gone and she wouldn't be able to slap you back very hard

Thanks for trying to help, but anyone who says a workout that involves handweights and things like pushups ISN'T strength training is clearly ignorant. Especially someone who beleives you can't build muscle while eating at a defecit. :noway:

    But thanks anyway.:ohwell:

You seem offended when you received good information.

Her reply was a bit inconsiderate. Thought you provided good information and if OP didn't like it could have just said thanks.

idk why people read "30 Day Shread" and think you have to do it every day for thirty days. honestly, do it three times a week on non consecutive days, and you won't burn out and you'll have better results.

I was wondering the same thing. I think this person misread her original post: "I am 16... DAYS into the 30 Day Shred." She didn't say she was 16 years old. She's 16 days into that particular workout.

This thread has got me confused! I did ChaLean Extreme for 6 months. I certainly feel stronger, and everyone tells me I look a lot muscular. I assumed that was because I have gained muscle, but now i am seeing that it's not possible to gain muscle in that short of time, that it takes years? So was this just muscle that was uncovered then? This is why I don't read these threads lol

    ^^^ I agree wholeheartedly!!!

I sure wish we could build muscle in 16 days, but alas, we aren't built that way. I've been lifting heavy for 2 years and am just now starting to see the muscle I've been waiting to see.

I would keep lifting. Why would you want to stop? You're not gonna get bulky!!

Really? I've been doing cardio plus strength since I started my weigh loss journey (ab 8 or 9 months). Although I didn't start working out hard until ab march, but I'm already starting to see changes in my arms. I can lift heavier than b4. I don't really know if I've built muscle or just like what the guy said tht girl was getting from 30 day shred, but I have a little bicep. I've just started Chalean Extreme (lifting heavy) and cant wait to see what it does for my arms!

Unfortunately, if you don't lose it, you lose it. I take it you've never had a limb in a cast before.

But how long is my point? LIke 24 hours? A week?

I think most well trained individuals can probably go 1 to 2 weeks without training and not have any concerns, and additionally, any potential backwards progress can be quickly re-established.

From my personal experience, 2 weeks off from training, set me back about 6 weeks worth of strength gains.

^ I believe you, but that seems very extreme and I would suspect that's not typical results. Doesn't make your reply any less valid of course.
VERY extreme! My split routine is such that 2 weeks off would mean missing one session on each muscle group. 6 weeks worth of strength gains gone by missing one session!???

My training regime requires me to train legs 3 times a week, and chest at least 2 times a week.

Hold on! Given that most split weight training routines are designed around the principle of training each muscle group once per week,

Only the crappy ones in the muscle mags.

I haven't been doing it very long at all. Like a week. at 1st I only had burn circuit 1, cuz it came with my Turbo Fire. Now I finally have the whole program. I'm pairing it with TurboFire. So this is my 1st week with more than burn circuit 1 lol I lift heavy enough to where I tire at 10-12 reps like ur supposed to. Depends on the muscle group she's working to what I weight. 8s or 10s. I need some 12s and 15s for some of the exercises. That might not seem like heavy to everyone, but you gotta start somewhere.
