I've been making a similar one lately -

    OJ
    frozen mixed berries
    1/2 small frozen banana
    1/2 papaya
    protein powder
    a handful of ice

Is it breakfast time yet?

You definately can not go wrong with smoothies. I usually just keep a few sherberts on hand, a few frozen fruits and a variety of juices (pomegranate and blueberry always make a good one, or the obvious oj). I just have fun and throw in a lil of this and a lil of that.. Then its not the exact same every day and may not get boring and repetitive!

I do one called the Green Monster. (You don't taste the spinach.)

    cup of skim milk
    2-4 ice cubes
    1 Tbsp peanut butter
    1 banana
handful of spinach or baby spinach
Ground flax if you have it.

    This sounds good...thanks!

    8 oz skim milk
1 or 2 Tbs reduced sugar chocolate syrup
    1 Tbs creamy peanut butter
    1/2 FROZEN banana
    2 Tbs Ground flaxseed

mix in blender for a great tasting, not too unhealthy smoothie. It does total between 300 - 400 calories, but is satisfying as a meal......... The key is the frozen bananas....... They add thickness and make it more of a milkshake like texture. You could throw some ice in it......but it isn't necessary.....

    Frozen fruit + yogurt + half a banana + juice = yummy!

I use that basic formula over and over and always have something different and delicious.

Hubby got me a Magic Bullet for Xmas, and I've been making smoothies left and right.

    My favorite is:

    -Frozen grapes
    -Apple juice
    -Pineapple yogurt
    -Half a banana
    -Squirt of honey

I basically just toss stuff in and blend. If it's too thick, I add more liquid. Too runny, add more fruit. :)

    my most fave is this:
    Mocha Java Smoothie

Combine your breakfast with your coffee for a real treat. For a thicker recipe, add 2 tablespoon vanilla yogurt.

    Servings: 1

    3/4 cup brewed dark coffee

    1/2 cup soy milk

    1 banana, peeled

    1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder

    1 teaspoon vanilla

    6 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.

This one sounds very interesting...combining your coffee and smoothie! I think I just might have to try this. It would be easier having one thing to sip on during my drive into work  Thanks!

    Peanut Butter-Banana-Soy Smoothie

    one serving
1 cup Soy milk Chocolate or Vanilla (I like Silk Organic chocolate)
    1 banana
1 TB SP natural peanut butter
    ice...a few cubes will do

    177 calories, 1g fat, 3g fiber, 11g sugars, 3 protein

    :drinker:

This one sounds lush, thanks for sharing i will try it

Reading all of the members recipes for smoothies is very inspiring. I had a smoothy maker and used to just chuck anything in but sadly i broke it. I now just use my little hand blender which does a grand job.
I made one today LOL very simple.
Pot of ww vanilla yogurt (under 50 cals)
1/2 tin gooseberries (juice drained 55 cals)
drop of milk, all blended together and it was beautiful. Probably not the lowest calorie smoothie but i was peckish and it really filled me up.

I'm intrigued...I don't like any leafy veggies (so of course I have none in my diet). Maybe I can work them in this way

    I too do green smoothie..

I have a magic bullet and that think ROCKS. I blend it all together, take the blender blade thingy off and put the cap on and out it goes with me to work. Best $50 I ever spent for the morning meals.

    ice
spinach (as much as I can shove in there)
    protein powder
    1/2 cup milk
    water

I tried the Spiru-tein Tangerine protein packet this morning...it tasted like Fruit Loops cereal to me. Personally I don't care for that cereal at all..but for those who miss it, there you go! Liquid Fruit Loops!

I've also juiced cucumber, celery, spinach and apples and blended that with ice and strawberry protein powder for a good smoothies as well.

    Peanut butter banana chocolate smoothie

In a blender combine 1 cup 1% milk
2 TBS wheat germ (or 1 TBS wheat germ and 1 TBS ground flax seed)
2 TBS organic no sugar or salt added peanut butter
    1 TBS unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 to 1 chopped frozen banana (depending on the size) I chop and freeze bananas (always keep some in the freezer for my smoothies)

Blend until smooth, add crushed ice and continue blending until it is the consistency you desire (I like to eat mine like ice cream with a spoon when I have time, but if on the go, can add less ice for a more liquid smoothie to drink)

This is usually sweet enough for me but if you want a bit sweeter you can add some honey, agave nector, or no calorie sweetener.
