My favorite homemade smoothie is frozen strawberries, frozen peaches, a banana, and orange juice.

When I'm in an even bigger hurry though Yoplait makes smoothie mixes, you can find them in the freezer aisle at the grocery store. You just dump the whole bag in and add 8oz. skim milk and blend. We've tried the Strawberry Banana and the Berry one (both really good) and I think there is a mango and something one but I haven't tried it, I'm not a big fan of mangos.

When I need to add some protein I'll put a .5-1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder in it too.

strawberries (i get them when they are $1 and freeze a ton!), OJ, peach yogurt, fresh pinneaple, and if I'm splurging some sugar free fat free vanilla and/or mango sherbert.

    I just made a smoothie!

    I mixed:
About 1Cup of Dole's Wildly Nutritious Mixed frozen fruit
    1C skim milk
1 Carnation instant breakfast french vanilla packet

It made a full 16oz, and was perfect for a light lunch. I figured the calories to be just over 300 (hence why it's my lunch not my snack) if I used the whole packet of instant breakfast. However, if you only use half the packet, it's just under 250 cals which I think would make a good snack.

It kind of tastes like a jamba juice without having to drive to get one!

I use some o.j., 1/2 banana, a mix of frozen fruit (I like peaches, raspberries and strawberries) If I am making a dessert I add a scoop of sugar free vanilla ice cream. Just be sure and figure in the calories. I sometimes add a packet of steevia sweetener. Enjoy!:drinker:

    bump..and now i'm off to make a smoothie :)

  • I blend it all together so there are no lumps. The cottage cheese gives it a bit of thickness, but no chunks if it's blended. I put all of my ingredients into a bowl and then I use my little hand blender to mix it all up...easy clean up plus the bowl I use has a pouring lip on it.

If you like thickness have you tried it with the plain ff greek yogurt I am sure this may have been said by now I just started reading these post!!
  • There are some great smoothie ideas here I am glad I checked in I would have never thought about putting spinach in a smoothie but now I will plus I have to go get me some more ground flax seed I use to do this all the time but stopped!!

    My normal smoothie is

1 dannon 5oz ff greek yogurt
1 cup frozen mixed fruit (pineappl, mango, strawberry and bananas
1 scoop Jillian vanilla shake protein
1 splash of almond or ff milk
    1 dash of cinnamon
    a little crushed ice

I use fat free plain or low fat vanilla yogurt, raspberries or strawberries, and sometimes add a banana to it. I also like to add 1 tbsp wheat germ or flax seeds.

I put in whatever frozen fruit I feel like that day and skim milk! I find if your fruit is frozen you don't need ice! I like frozen strawberries and bananas personally the best!

    1/2 cup frozen blueberries
    1/2 of a frozen banana
    1/2 cup of ice
1 cup of milk (i use almond vanilla milk personally)

the almond vanilla milk gives it a vanilla flavor & tastes absolutely yummy.

also i can simply make this in2 a protein shake by adding 3 tablespoons of my vanilla protein powder. yum yum!!

1/2 cup drained and rinsed black beans (weird, but good)

I have two favorite breakfast smoothies that I make with Beachbody's Shakology (LOVE.THIS.STUFF!):

    Choco Loco:
1 packet (or scoop) of Chocolate Shakeology
    1/2 banana
    1/2 cup water
1/4 cup non-fat soy, rice or almond milk (I use Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze)
    Ice to taste

Just blend it all up...it's like heaven in a glass for breakfast. Seriously!

    Creamy Berry Fusion:
1 packet (or scoop) of Greenberry Shakeology
    1/4 cup sliced strawberries
    1/4 cup raspberries
    1/2 cup water
1/4 cup non-fat soy, rice or almond milk (Again, I use the Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze)
    Ice to taste

Same as above, just blend it all up.

Both of these recipes make one DELICIOUS serving!
