  • It took me at least 15min to catch up! You women were busy this morning and last night.

    Welcome, Shel and CZ!

Shel- what's your start weight so I can add you to the chart on Monday?:flowerforyou:

Loathesome- Your class sounds really interesting. I took an American Women's HIstory Class for my minor and it was such an eye opener, especially when you learn about how all the various rights movements treated each other. Example: The black rights movement (in general) didn't include rights for women but the women's rights movement didn't include rights for minority women. I may take a class like yours when I finish my thesis. P.s. Thanks for posting a new thread!!:flowerforyou:

Nikkytoo- Congrats on the 2lbs! That must feel amazing after being stuck! :flowerforyou:

I just realized I have added the flower to the end of every paragraph so f**k it. FLOWERS FOR EVERYONE!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Thanks Jb.... I missed this first time around.

i walked into a garden of flowers in here lol

yeah, the class is really cool, i found that interesting too how there are women of colour feminist movements just because the original feminists didn't account for minorities. in the video, v-day, eve ensler (apparently a renowned feminist) was discussing how if everyone got on board with feminism it would abolish oppression against all minorities, for example, respecting all woman, means black woman, which means respecting blacks, respecting impoverished women, means poor women, which equates to poor men as well. it was an interesting concept!

i just wanted to say i think everyone is doing great! congrats on the new weigh in nikkytoo!!!

    i want new shoes!!

i just jogged for 10 minutes on my tread, did 10 minutes of aerobics, like 50 crunches and 25 girly push ups...they were really girly

if any of you have stayed away from push ups, try it, even the girl form, it REALLY effects your core, i didn't think i was that weak until i did them! even just do 10, i forced myself to do 25 with breaks!

    :flowerforyou:

Thanks Loathsome.. I want new shoes too and reaching my goal is the only way to get them. I had to convince my husband somehow that I could buy yet another pair this year... I bought so many this year it's almost ridiculous... but so much fun!

You're welcome Chrissyh  It was worth it-I grew up fast, made a lot of great friends, got to play in a huge Sandbox, and had the honor of being a Corporal of Marines in the best damn military on earth. I learned a lot, and I'll never regret it, but I'll never do it again either!!!

I still can't believe I don't have to get up at "Zero-f#$%ing-stupid" (military for ungodly morning hours) to run hills for 2 hours, and do pushups until the SSgt is tired!!!!!!!

Buffjess started it and has been awol for weeks now. We're all hoping she is ok. No one has been able to get a reply from her yet. We hope she just got really busy or her comp is busted.

I'm still trying to get my bad knee to behave consistently before I shell out for a new pair of awesome heels.........right now I can't even go all day in a 2.5" wedge heel without my knee killing me:frown: :frown: But......life is a series of challenges, right?

Have you tried strengthening and stretching your quads and hamstrings? That really helped me.

Yep, doesn't help much. :frown: The docs say the ligaments (can't remember which ones) are starting to "fray" on the end, which is why it hurts. Told me to wear good support sneakers all the time - like that's gonna happen (NOT!!) when I work in an office setting. Its not bad enough to justify surgery, but bad enough to make me hurt pretty bad some days:grumble: :grumble: One of these day's it's probably gonna go "pop" and then they'll have to do surgery. I hope if it ever happens it happens at work so WorkComp will send me to a civilian doctor - the Army ones are not gonna cut on me!:noway: :noway: Well, now that I think about it they Army docs have referred me to civilians for both my other surgeries (nasal/sinus and hysterectomy/bladder repair), so maybe they'd refer me to a civilian if my knee blows. I'm not in any hurry to find out what they'd recommend..........I'll keep grumbling about the pain and wearing flats or sneakers most of the time!

EEP!! I don't blame you, I refused to let the Navy docs operate on my sinuses. I don't trust any "hoodoo doctors" as I like to call military docs lol  :grumble:

I just ate chinese take out for dinner. I'm 601cals over my 1200 allotment. I need to go work out now... to bring that down a bit...but it sure was yummy.... mmhmmmmm mmmmm:bigsmile:

LOL... not a red head here. More like dark chocolate almost black that develops a tad of reddish tinge during the summer. But the personnality, I suppose is similar.

It was pretty easy, I moved 28 boxes of bamboo flooring (650 sqft) that we'd stored in the gym, which is on the first level of the house to the second level. Our property is slightly sloped and we have the wheelchair ramp following the slope and leading to a small elevator that lifts to a max of 5ft. So I used it to place the boxes on the upstairs floor where my husband would move them to a more suitable location. I only use the gym when it's no longer nice enough to workout outside. So I thought it might be good to clear it out prior to bad weather arriving. I tied on my ankle weights and started moving the boxes. Bamboo flooring is freaken heavy I tell you.
