Well ladies, sorry for the late check in...and it isn't really. My house flooded earlier this week with all the rain we got and my scale needs to "dry out". Maybe this will get me off the 2x daily weigh ins cold turkey ;)

Great Job lvnascar and gogo, your pic is worth a 1000 words! I can only hope to get there some day!

Well I see your from DFW, Texas. I live in Denton. I am a 41 year young mom of three. Daughter 22, son 20, & a son 19. For over 17 years I weighed 145lbs. So when I had my hysterectomy in 06 I did not believe people when they told me I would gain weight. Well a couple of months ago I purchased a scale and OH MY GOODNESS, I knew I was having to by bigger cloths but it really didn't dawn on me for some reason. I weighed 190lbs. at 5'4". I am 65 lbs over weight, boarderline diabetic, and I suffer from Bipolar 1. So anyway I decided I was going to do something about it. Then I found this sight and I am so happy:smile: that I did. I have a 6 year old Chi-Wieene named Booboo that I raised from 2 weeks of age after his mother died, so since my children are all grown he's my baby now. And my husband is a Truck Driver, and is gone for weeks at a time, so its just me and Booboo. And now my new friends at myfitnesspal.

I live in Watauga and have a few things in common. My weight is similar to yours I am in the low 180's (once was over 220) also 5'4" and a mother of 3 (12, 9, 5). My parents are truck drivers so I understand the routine and can feel your pain...since I am a single mom I spend my free time with them when they are home. I know at times it will seem everything is working against you, but with the support here it feels do-able!!!

I am so sorry about your house!! Maybe it is a sign that you don't need your scale.....:grumble: I have learned the hard way that it is not about the numbers on the scale, it is about how you feel and look in the mirror. I know things must be tough right now, but keep it up girlie! You are worth it!

    Morning Ladies,

Well this weekend was a bad one for me, because we celebrated my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday. Just to much good home cooking for me I guess. Will be working hard for the next couple of days.

racefan: Sorry to hear about your house! :noway: Let that scale dry out for a while, I didn't even try to look at my scale this morning.

booboogroom: Welcome! Glad to have you with us.

    Good Morning! :flowerforyou:

I am still stuck at 161.0 lbs :grumble: , but on the bright side.....last night I ran for 20 mins without walking and did 1.35 miles. Yay me!! That is my all time high so far, but I am going to shoot for 1.5 miles before the weekend. I am really slow, but I want to build up the endurance to go distances before I work on the speed. Now if I could just get my butt to quit hurting......:grumble:

Hope you all are doing well!

    Morning Ladies,

Well I'm up a pound, so the weight is 161 just like gogo. But I blame that on all the good food I ate at my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I will get it off, and continue on my journey.

Gogo: WTG on running for 20 min. straight, and I'm hoping your butt starts to feel better  . I just did a new workout called Kettlenetics, and I was surprised that my butt is sore with just that 4lb kettlebell that comes with the kit.

    Have a great day!

My friend works out with kettlebells and she loves it! She says it is a great workout overall and she can really feel it the next day.

    Morning Ladies,

My weight this morning was 159.5 which is 1lb down from last week. I didn't adjust my ticker from when I gained those two rotten pounds, so now it is at the right setting. :blushing: I'm still working away, and getting strength and cardio into my routine. Even though I'm not losing weight, I can see the muscles in my upper body. So progress is being made. :drinker:

    How is everyone doing?

    Hey lvnascar!

I really think that we are the only two left! I didn't weigh in because it is that TOM. :grumble: I am so bloated it is not funny. I will check in next Weds. I did hit an all-time high for my running though. 2.25 miles non stop!! I ran 34.40 minutes continuously. I am definitely seeing an improvement in my running abilities. I wish that I would start to see some kind of weight loss.:grumble:

Anyway, great job on the 1 lb loss from last week! Keep up the great work. :drinker: I can't wait to see the muscles on me!

Well, I'm back after vacation and my son was in the hospital for a couple of days. Needed IV antibiotics for swollen lymph nodes and of course my hubby was out of town. Anyway, back to dieting. Only one pound up so not too much damage done.
Great running Gogo!! Keep it up :)

Gogo, Congrats on running non-stop for that long. I usually run on Sat., Mon & Wed. I also estimate that I ran about 2.25 miles yesterday non-stop in 25 min. I stopped running about a year ago, and then just recently started up again. Are you doing the C25K? I have been doing that, and find that I have been able to get back into the running routine much easier. It is a great way to get exercise in, so keep up the good work. Yesterday I just finished week 6, so only 3 more weeks to go and then I have to plan on a different running program.

Kath, Sorry to hear about your son, I hope he starts feeling better.

Alright Lovely Ladies..Can I come back or am I banished???:embarassed:
Not only did I fall off the bandwagon, I bounced down the hill and landed in a pile in an ugly mud puddle. So now I am coming crawling back to the LL support group bruised and muddy, but ready to go. So, how 'bout it girls???

jtodaycheeny: Weight loss is a tough process. Of course we are a support group, and welcome you back with pleasure. It has been a little quiet on this post lately. :frown:

One of the problems is that this thread gets lost and we probably don't think about it every day. I'm going to start posting my workouts for the day, and maybe that will get all the lovely ladies thinking about their motivation everyday!

Today was 43 min. of weight training with a DVD called STS by Cathe Friedrich. Muscles worked where Back & Biceps. I also added on the extended stretch that was on this DVD, and that totaled 15 min. Going to keep my eating in check today also. I have been slipping lately when I get home from work. So tomorrow is going to be planning out my meals for the week.

Good Luck to All the Lovely Ladies! :drinker:

Well, Lovely Ladies, I did not eat super fantastic this weekend and I only exercised for 20 mins on Saturday, but surprisingly I am not feeling guilty. I think I just needed some time off from the whole thing. Today I am back to normal and it feels great! I can't wait to hit the treadmill tonight!

I didn't eat super this weekend either, but I did manage to get in a kickboxing workout, Kick, Punch & Crunch with Cathe Freidrich. And Sunday was a 2.5 mile run outdoors with my dog. It was a bit chilly, but not raining!

Yesterday was a good day for me eating wise, and this morning got in a 2.5 mile run on the treadmill and the kickboxing portion of Box'n'Flow with Kimberly Spreen. Yesterday was Power Yoga with Kristin McGee. That yoga workout really worked the legs and upper body!

I had a decent eating day yesterday as well. Snuck in a few leftover pieces of Halloween candy, but not over the top binging like I used to. I had a great workout yesterday. I did 3 sets of lunges, squats, leg raises, and 3 different kinds of ab exercises, then I ran a mile and walked another mile. I was exhausted by the time I hit the pillow last night. It was great, and I am comfortably sore today. Not too much, not too little.

    Morning Lovely Ladies,

I'm still at 159.5, but I can tell changes are going on. I am going to need to wear a belt to keep my pants up. Yesterday was a fantastic eating day, nothing was snuck into my menu! :drinker: This morning I got in a workout that was a circuit. One on One 5-6 Cardio Plus with Tony Horton. Good workout, but could tell that Tony was not into it. It was a lot like Jillian's BFBM as far as how the exercises where done. Might try to get in some yoga later tonight also.

Gogo: Great job on the run, I love how exercise helps me sleep the night through!

    Good Morning!

Last night did 3 miles on the treadmill, 2.25 jogging, .50 uphill, .25 normal to cool down. Felt good, but I didn't have the endurance to run the 2.25 straight thru. :grumble: I had to walk 2 mins throughout. I think it was because I did back to back workout days because I won't get a workout in tonight. DD#1 is in the district spelling bee tonight!! I am so nervous for her but proud at the same time!!! My stomach hurts today, so it will definitely be a healthy eating day. I don't think I could handle any junk.

lvnascar: Great job on the workouts!! You really keep mixing it up!

Oh, forgot to weigh in this morning, but I weighed in yesterday for a different challenge, and I was at 159.8!!!

    Morning Ladies,

Another great eating day, I only added a couple of flakes of Life Cereal that wasn't on my menu! Don't think I would have a clue on how to record that in my food diary! Got in a run this morning on my treadmill (way to dark out to run outdoors), and I was able to run the first two miles at 6.2, and then went to 6.1 until I got to 2.25 miles, 6.0 until I was at 2.5 miles. No incline for me! I know I'm a whimp!

Great run again Gogo! :drinker: You are getting your endurance up by running uphill, so just keep up the good work!
  • Gogo
    Gogo Posts: 9,942 Member
Actually the uphill part was done walking.

I have downed 8 pieces of Halloween candy today! I don't know what my problem is.....I am just having a crappy day. I ate a doughnut for breakfast too. I guess I am getting a little frustrated with my progress and I am consoling myself with food......not good.:grumble: I was running the 2.25 miles no problem and then the last week or so, I haven't been able to do it. I feel like my progress is moving backwards instead of forwards.

I am going to go home and try again tonight. I am just going to push myself to see if I can break this cycle.

On the upside, I weighed myself this morning and I am at 160.0.....so I only gained .2 from the crap I have been eating the past two days.
