    I'm 5'8" and aim for 140-145. I'm not all over the number on the scale though, goal body > goal weight! :drinker:

    I'm 5'8 3/4 -so pretty close to that height. I got down to 135 as my goal weight but have pretty much stablized at 137-139 the past year (depending on sodium, my workouts and TOM). I wear a size 6 pants for the most part (some 4's, some 8's) and can wear size small tops if they are sleeveless but my shoulders have gotten bigger as I've been lifting weights and mediums fit my shoulders better (but then they are baggy everywhere else!). I'm taking a step away from the scale for awhile because I've been trying to get back to that 135 number (which I truly just pulled out of thin air) and am gonna focus on tightening things up. Good luck-your head sounds like it's in the right place to be very successful at this!
    I'm 5'8 3/4 too! I have a really large frame so I'd be happy at 170/180 ish.

    I am 5'8" and I have to get over the scale. I have always been in the 155 area until the last year. My weight keeps going up and up and up. I weighed in at the gym last week at 163, but here is the kicker ladies.....my bodyfat is down. My belt is one notch down.

    So my weight goal....whatever. My actual goal, be comfortable in my skin. Be comfortable to rock shorts and a shorts bra for a workout in front of other people, having some abs visible. Get a muscle up. Squat 250#. Come in first place at some sort of fitness competition.

    Hi All!! I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 263. Before I joined MFP, I started out at 293. My goal weight is currently160. I would love to be 150. But, I am almost 40 years old and apple-shaped.

    Well first goal was to just get under 300...made it!! So now I am thinking to get at what ever weight makes my thighs stop making that swish swish sound when I walk! :laugh:

    I'm 5'8, 20 years old and currently around 175 lbs.

    I have a lot of lower body muscle and plenty of chest that I would like to keep as well, so my goal weight is 145-150lbs :)

    I'm 5'7" but I used to be 5'8"!!!!! I have a very muscular build - I am currently wearing a size 8 at 192 lbs. MY goal is to be 175 - I was at that weight January 2009 and I looked and felt great. An exercising injury and thyroid issues caused a 25 lb regain. Everything is repaired and thyroid is working properly and I'm heading back down to my goal - only 17 lbs to go.

    Im 5'8. My starting weight was about 200lbs ( i wore a size 12/14 jeans)
    my CW is 157 lbs and i wear between (6/8 depending on the brand of jeans) and im about a small on top)
    my original goal weight is about 145lbs..and once i get there ill decide if i want to go to 140lbs.
    However, for my body frame anything lower than 140lbs, would be a little too thin for my liking....

    5'8", medium frame, started at 175, goal #1 was to lose 20 lbs, which I reached last month. I am now aiming for 148. I'm focusing more on recomposition now, so I'll reevaluate as I get closer.

    I'm at my original goal of 120's. Right now 127-128 but I'm working to put on another 5 or so pounds. Maybe 10 to make sure I get some good muscle gains and then cut back however I see fit or gain more.

    5'8" Medium to Large Frame with some birthing hips to boot!

    HW: 250
    CW: 203
    GW: 150-160 >> cut with lots of muscle and not fat.

    I would love to be in a size 8 > Currently in a size 14 or 16 depending on the day.

    Wow, you're all much lower that what I thought mine should be. I appreciate all of your responses!

    I am aiming for 160/165, which is 35/30 lbs lower than where I started at in January. We'll see where I feel best at, and who knows, maybe I'll push for lower or find my "happy place" somewhere higher.

    I'm almost 5'8" and I am aiming for 165/170. I was 150 when I got married 18 years ago and just don't think I could maintain that again. I started at 223 in January, so I think 165-170 would be a HUGE improvement.

    I'm 5'8" and I have my goal for 165-175. I've already lost 159lbs and have 86-96lbs to go. Really, I just want to be healthy. I'd like to be about a size 12. I know that sounds big to most people BUT, I started at a size 34W and a 12 would be smaller than I've ever been in my life.

    im around 5'8-5'9 and my goal is 145. In high school i was 140-145. I would like to be that size again thats where i felt comfortable. I was 135 for a lil while but that was too thin for me.

    hi there ladies! im 5'8" and i started at 169 and im down to 150 now and i love the way i look and feel! those of you women who are my height and want to be in the 120's that might be a little to thin. although i would say it depends on your frame, im a medium frame and my ultimate goal is 145 i think you need a little something on your bones im going for the healthy fit look and its working!
