I like to spend time with my dog, take her out for a hike or something. Yoga is very relaxing too and helps me calm down. If all else fails, punching bag. I fight it out until I'm too tired to care anymore.

I work out every day and that is how I keep it in check. The family and I ride dirt bikes every weekend. You can't think of anything else but trying to keep yourself from falling. If you don't do anything like that, you could run or ride a bicycle.

I also listen to music and listen or watch comedians. I was listening to George Carlin this morning and I must have looked like a lunatic sitting in traffic, laughing like a nut. But, you know what, I felt great getting out of the car. For music, I like to listen to heavy metal or hard rock. I don't listen to the slow crap. That would make anyone want to put a gun to their head.

I don't know what you have going through your mind: lost love, family issues, medical, work or otherwise, but when I am going through something I don't analyze it, I don't cry about it. I just accept it for what it is. I believe that we go through things for a reason. It is not what we are going through. It is how we learn from it and move on. Whatever you are going through will make you a stronger person. Full speed ahead, my friend.

    working out, reading.

if it is a immediate issue I do some deep breathing till I no longer feel like ripping off some jerk-wads head and spitting down their throat.

run. best thing ever for me.

if not that, anything active. works as a sort of moving meditation - only thing you can think about is what you are doing at that particular moment in time,

This is it for me as well--I run until I forget it all. And then I come back with a clear head + new perspective.

use it to your advantage  i always work best under pressure/stress but if you can't manipulate it into a good thing then take a break, shut your phone off, turn off the tv and just think, take an hour and just do something you want to do to unwind!

I have found that cleaning and organizing do wonders for my mental health. It calms me to know that, even though I may not be able to control what's causing the stress, there are still some things in life that I CAN control. Also, the act of bringing order to chaos seems to calm me. If the stress level is particularly bad, though, that doesn't work and I have to find a quiet, secluded spot, have a good cry, and pray out my problems.

Edit to add: Since "laughter is the best medicine", sometimes I'll watch a really good comedy.

Exercise. I take kickboxing and I picture punching whoever is the most relevant to my stress in the face. I also like going for walks and listening to music.

Talking to friends is always good too over a bottle of wine is good for the soul if not for the waistline.
