Really liking the short dresses! I'd been thinking about it, but now I'm definately going to try some on! x

@rubytOU - That's beautiful! - I've looked at some of the Jasmine range - but I'm struggling to find anyone who stocks them near me - Might need a trip to London! x

This was 7 years ago and about 60 lbs lighter. The dress was from David's bridal for about $200 but cost twice as much to alter since I had lost about 20 lbs before the wedding, all the layers of chiffon. The cute thing is my nieces, who were flower girls, had the exact dress for themselves. I hope it loads.

I got married in 2010, and this was my dress:

For the reception, I took off the outer beaded jacket, and I put on some short sleeves that just snapped into the dress. It made the dress much lighter and easier to dance in.

I got it at David's Bridal. They did the sleeves too.

I wanted a gown that would cover my shoulders and was high up top.

I tried on over 50 dresses before I found this one. I just couldn't find what I wanted.

My advice is to try on different styles. See what you like and feel good in, and go from there. Finding gowns that cover the arms is really really hard these days, so if that's something you want, there are options, but they are limited. Just set a clear budget, stick to it, and enjoy shopping!

I'm getting married in october and this is my dress.

    dress2.jpg

and I'm adding a few pieces so it'll look more like this...
    dressfront.jpg

I love this dress because it has a laced up backing instead of a zipper. So I don't need to take it in or out!

my advice is to go and try dresses on its all very well seeing them on other people but thats not your personal figure. what suits them might not suit you.

try to choose a dress that matches your personality, your taste for life and the passion you have to find your dream dress, wether you want to be a princess in beautiful white, traditional in a traditional white dress or something reflection say victorian style. do yu like 50's/60's glamour.

think of the things you like nd see if you can find them in a dress.

i dont believe in white weddings personally so mine is red. to me white is a symbol of purity and virginity even though i am NOT religious. i also want to look like a cherry not a marshmallow. completely hate the white dresses. havent seen one i liked in my bridal shops what so ever.

any way in short write down what you like take it with you and find and try the dresses on that have that in them. good luck on your mission

Here are some that my fiance was looking at. She is 5'2'' and I'm not allowed to know how many lbs.

There is another dress (or two) that she likes at the shop, but I'm not allowed to see it (them).

Unfortunately this is the only one I have available online right now. But it was an A-line with lace around the top and around the hem. My mom actually made it.

I got mine at promdressline.com they have some really pretty dresses. I didn't want anything too formal (I'm 45 and have 3 kids so I was not real comfortable wearing white). But they have so really pretty dresses on their site and are extremely reasonable.

Let's see if this will work:
    hitchhiking-1.jpg

My husband and I did a vow renewal for our 25th year. It was at Disney. My dress was the most beautiful item of clothing I'd ever seen in my life and I felt like a princess in it.
