WOW...I find it incredibly sad that a number on the scale is most people on here's ultimate goal.....What about a certain measurement/pant size/ body fat %?
If I had to get stuck on that I would have given up years ago..... Who cares that the scale says Xlbs, but you can fit into two sizes smaller that the last time you weighed that much?
    weirdness.......

I'm an sincerely hoping slow ans steady will win the race. I just started this week Tues actually so I'm a complete newbie. Hello other similar sized ladies :flowerforyou:
I'm 5ft7 and started this year at 172, joined MFP in July at 162, currently at 154. I was always unsure what my goal weight would be, I originally thought 150 but the nearer I am to that I think I would like to aim for 140 - 145.

I'm around 5'7"-5'8" (depending on who you ask, me or my husband) and I am currently at 162. I started at 168 at the end of August. :)
I started out with Jillian Michaels 30 Day shred. That was very intense. I sprained both of my ankles from going from couch potato to trying to keep up with her. So, I switched to stationary biking. 20 minutes daily. I recently started Jillian's DVD again, since my ankles are healed.
Best of luck to ALL of us!!!! We can do it!

I'm a tall 5'8" and started MFP at 199lbs! (was NOT going to hit 200lbs). So weighed in this morning at 161.5, and the goal is 145.... by New Years. I'm 38lbs down, and only 16 to go!!! I got this far only by motivated friends and support, so add me and we'll go forward together!

    great thread!!

i'm 5'9". i've been weighing in at 165 lbs the last few days and go between 162-165 lbs. i started at 176 lbs in february. i am not even really sure what my ideal weight would be. i'm thinking 150 lbs would be good. i'm going without dessert and really watching dairy and gluten to see if i can get the scale to budge. i already exercise a lot so for the numbers to go down i've got to further refine my diet.

I'm 5'8" and currently 172 (gained back up to where I was when I started in January. bummer.) My goal is 150, which I was really close to back in May, then I got married in June and got off track.
Just wanted to mention, if you are trying to get the scale to budge without an extra exercise burst try watching your sodium. Then you won't retain as much water weight and can drop a bit more.
