Hands down, without a doubt... Aslan's cover of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. Reminds me of my late fiance, he used to sing it. Aslan are an Irish band

IMHO, Marilyn Manson really improved "Sweet Dreams" (original Eurhythmics)

    YES great cover...

I like Rage Against the Machine's cover of "Maggies Farm" (original by Bob Dylan)

Sublime's cover of "Smoke 2 joints" (original by Bob Marley)

Dang... Most of the good ones have been mentioned :)

    My top 3 are definitely:

    - Deftones cover of Sade's "No Ordinary Love". I love Sade.
    - HIM 's cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game"
    - 311's cover of The Cure's "Love Song"

Aaron Lewis from Staind does a great job covering Chris Isaac's Wicked Games. A lot of people find his voice depressing but I love it. I love Aron Lewis.

He also does She Talks to Angels by the Black Crows

He covers Blake Shelton's Who Are You When I'm Not Looking, Pearl Jam's Black, my opinion almost better than the original and I love Pearl Jam. Cindy Lauper Time After Time and True Colors. He covers Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here but I kinda don't like his version of that song though. Other than that he does an Amazing job doing covers in my opinion

Just had to look it up on youtube. Great cover.

My cousin took me to see Aslan in the Sallynoggin pub in the late 90's and was so impressed I bought Goodbye Charlie Moonhead the following week, and I still listen to it now. Would love to see them again but the only time I've been aware of them playing in Britian I was away. :ohwell:

My favoriteh, Simply Red, does a lot of covers and he does them sooooo well...better than many of the originals. But "If You Don't Know Me By Now" is probably the one he is best known for. (sigh) I love my Mickey's voice!
