Hi Ladies! I had to drag myself to the basement tonight ladies. I was very tired but I got a workout in. I did HasFit Back and I walked on the treadmill for a little while.

Laurie, great job with the yoga workout and for helping ease your DD's pre-wedding stress! We've been in this house for 10 years. If I can make a big dent in that attic by the end of the year it will be HUGE! I hope you find something in the HasFit website that you can use in your routines.

Tami, great workouts Tami! Sounds like another killer class! Will you be attending those newCirtcuit/Hiit T/Killer combo classes?
So glad your DH is happy to be home. I'm sure you're right and last time it was a combination of things. i hope I can make a dent in that attic by the end of the year.

    Laurel, what a great combo!

    Good night ladies!
You are lucky you have moved so much. I really need to start working on the attck soon after I come back from NC. You're very welcome on the tomato link!

    Morning Ladies,

Today's workout was YW Stalking Warrior. ;)

Tami, Great job with that class and your lower body workout! LOL about not everyone grabbing the heavy weights, but it does sound like it was a class that kept everyone on their toes. I'm sure the dd will still have some things that she will wait until the last minute, but I have taken some time off the week before so it should be good.

Laurel, Awesome job with those workouts. I can only imagine how tough that Imax workout was if it was between those two workouts in intensity. Glad that it had moves that where different, but body friendly. Wow, to bad about those temps. We can still enjoy those warm temps for a little longer. LOL about the Fit Tower workouts! I knew that I probably should have ordered those workouts, but I have this big blah about barre workouts. If that isn't how those workouts are, and I have read everyone's reviews of them as you have done them, then I will have to consider them. The Yoga Warrior series is very good, and I'm happy that I purchased them. They are expensive, but I had the chance to purchase them last year for $50 from Collage Video. This is really the first opportunity I have had to use them the way they intended. I think they will be a staple in my rotation going forward, because I really don't want to lose the flexibility that I have gained.

Thelma, Great job getting in a workout even though you where tired. Sounds like you have a good goal timeline for attacking the attic.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I started today's workout with STS Disc 7/Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. I went as heavy as I could, so I didn't quite get all the reps in.......but it felt really good to push it a bit today. For cardio, I decided to take it down a notch and did Step Moves. But at the end I was like 'is that it?', ran and grabbed my iPad and did Cathe's Live class from this morning. :o It was also a steady state step, so the intensity wasn't way up, especially with the learning curve that always comes from step choreography. But it ended up being a much longer workout than I anticipated......but it was fun! We'll see what my body says about that later. :#

Thelma, good job getting a workout in despite being so tired. I watched a couple of those HasFit workouts. They look really good! I need to take some time to really explore their website, but I am amazed how many workouts they have out there. Very impressive.

Laurie, love the name of that yoga workout. :) That is really a good deal on the Yoga Warrior program, because it is twice that on Amazon. That is one of the reasons I didn't purchase. I think I am going to be patient and see if this 'Yoga Saturday' is something that I am going to stick with beyond winter (and maybe expand to other days) before investing that much. Regarding the Fit Tower workouts, there is a barre element to each workout. Outside of the Legs, Glutes and Core workout, they are short segments used when working the lower body. I thought the Legs, Glutes and Core workout was going to be like LIS Turbo Barre......which can absolutely bore me to tears. But it isn't. While the type of exercise is the same, the duration isn't nearly as painful (mentally or physically). But, yes, there is a Barre element to all of them that may not be what you are looking for. That being said, if you are looking for more Metabolic workouts like Metabolic Total Body, Cathe Live is an option. There are quite a few of them there. :p

Tami, hope you are having a good day!

    See you all tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Ended up not going to Spinning last night afterall. I was just tired and felt like easing into my evening instead of rushing to make dinner, shower, visit and head to bed. Tonight however I am going to the STRONG class after work.

Laurel: Fabulous job with your workouts …. As always you amaze me with what you put together! Sounds like another great LIVE Class. My mind goes to the choreography challenges in those IMAX workouts …. LOL I remember there is one that I have that I haven’t done forever but I did accomplish it and was so happy ~ tough forsure though. Excellent workouts today as well. So you do these with your Ipad??!! How do you see what is going on? Yes, the Tues/Thurs will be good. It will kind of be like doing an actual program to improve strength/endurance is what she was saying. Of course a gazillion burpees will be in there like we did the other night. LOL

Thelma: Good on you for dragging yourself down to the basement ….. I felt guilty about not dragging myself to the gym but I was glad with my decision. Funny DH was feeling the same way (minus not having a workout planned …lol) was just one of those long days and the relaxing evening was perfect. Yes, I will be planning on going to Katy’s Tue/Thurs combo staring in September. IT should be good. The only downfall is on Thursday it is in our old studio type room that is super small. But she can make anything good in any of the space we have + no running camp forsure on Thurs then.

Laurie: Great job with another Yoga workout down. So good you have enjoyed this series so much and want to continue one way or another as you move into other things again. I am with Laurel on those Fit Tower workouts being a good “modifier” or not as far as intensity goes. I put off ordering until the end for that very reason that “Barre” style workouts are not my favorite, thinking that’s what the whole system was, but it truly isn’t. As Laurel mentioned, the lower body/core workout does have some segments forsure in there but not the whole workout. I too am bored beyond if I do just Barre style workouts. My mind wanders like crazy despite it being good for me. LOL 

Have a great rest of your day ladies! Tami

Hi Ladies! Tonight I did HasFit Home Bicep Workout with Dumbbells + Triceps and I walked on the treadmill for a little while. These two arm workouts fried my arms! Really good ones! I love that these workouts are really working my triceps like no other workout has done in a very long time.
In case you're interested here are the links. You're on your own for warm-up and cool down but they have links on each workout page that point to a warm-up and cool down routines.

    http://hasfit.com/workouts/bodybuilding/tricep/tricep-workout-with-dumbbells/

I managed to get tomorrow as study day as opposed to taking the vacation day I was scheduled to take. Not only do I have to study for the exam. I have work training due and I have to review a document that is so badly written that I already have lots of anomalies to report.

Laurie, great workout! I hope I can stick to the attic goal! I googled how many days till 5/31/2019 today and I have 657 days till retirement! LOL. This doesn't mean I have 657 days to clean up the attic.

Laurel, wow! What a combo! Great job!
I'm so glad you checked out the HasFit workouts! Some are really, really good. I like that he does the exercises in different positions than I'm used to. They do have lots of workouts and they are free! I discovered that they also have a 90 Day muscle building rotation so I printed it out for later. I am thinking that I might want to do that next.

Tami, good for you for allowing yourself a relaxing night. Katy is going to love you attending her other classes! I hope you really like them!

Hi Ladies! I had a little motivation issue this morning but finally convinced myself not only to get up :) but to workout....and I am glad I did. Today I started with STS Disc 8/Back and Triceps. I expected it to be brutal since I pushed my upper body so hard yesterday (and I didn't feel like working out anyhow), but it flew by. After mentioning Turbo Barre yesterday, I decided to pop that in after and do the floor and core work, which I love, from that workout. For cardio, it was pure fun with Rockout Knockout. So good stuff to end a week of some tough workouts.

Tami, I imagine enjoying a quiet evening with your DH was nice. Is it still hot and smoky? I hope that eases off soon if it is. No doubt that can impact the energy levels. I will be curious what the program Katy is putting together looks like. It sounds like each week will be a progression, and that sounds fantastic. I wonder if it will be something like STS where you focus on one style for a few weeks before moving on. And yay for no running in the small room! Regarding the Cathe Live workouts, I have an adapter to plug my iPad into my TV, so the workouts play on the TV through the iPad. I think I will gift myself with an early Christmas present of a smart TV for my workout room. I used to have one in my workout room, but with this move, we had to switch TVs around.....and I was left with the one non-Smart TV for my workouts. When I get the smart TV, I will hopefully just stream the workouts from the app or Cathe's site.

Thelma, sounds like another great workout. The one thing that impressed me about the little bit of the HasFit workout I watched was their form was good, their pace seemed good, and they seemed thorough in their explanations. I think I was expecting something a little less put together for this number of free workout (like maybe being filmed in a living room or something like that!). Very impressive stuff. Hope you are getting some good studying in, but also hope you get a break sometime this weekend to relax. Good luck on Monday!

Laurie, I imagine you are getting into wedding crunch time now. Hope all is well.

Off to the Artic Circle this weekend if all goes well. We didn't make it up there last time, and I refuse to live much longer within 200 miles of the circle not to go there. Wish us luck on the rough, isolated road! We will be armed with a CB radio, two spare tires and extra food.......just in case. :o Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a good weekend. I can't say that I did because I was studying. Friday I actually worked so I didn't get to study but at least I got work stuff done that I'd fallen behind on.
I feel that I a really good food and workout weekend though. I can't say that about my studying. I don't feel as prepared as I did two weeks ago which means I've forgotten stuff! YIKES! I hope I pass!

On Friday I did KCM 30MTF Amped Up Cardiovascular Live I. I wanted to get a second workout in but I was exhausted by the time I finished working. On Saturday I did ICE Chiseled Lower Body TS #1, Has fit 17m Legs/Butt, Treadmill, Stretching. This was a really awesome combo and my legs felt it the entire day. They 17 minute workout sounds easy but it wasn't! Today I did another awesome combo S&S Cardio Slam TS #4, HasFit 25m Chest & Triceps, Treadmill, stretching. OMG I love the way Coach Kozak makes my triceps burn! He does pushups in ways I've never seen before. I also love the fact that these workouts are short, yet very effective. This allows me time to get some cardio in.

Laurel, I'm glad you managed to motivate yourself into working out! What a wonderful combo!
Coach Kozak and Claudia definitely use good form and of course it is nice that she does the modified version. Thanks for the good luck wishes! I will need it tomorrow.

    Hi Tami and Laurie!

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This is going to be pretty short. I'm super busy at work, because I only have two days of work. I will post as much as I can, but it is going to be a busy week before the wedding. No workouts this weekend, it was just to full of wedding things.

This morning I did GHUTV Barre Boxing. Fun workout, and I did it low impact.

Thelma, Congrats on passing the exam!

Laurel, Hope you had a good time at the Artic Circle!

Tami, Having a relaxing evening is a great option, the workouts will always be there.

Keep up the awesome job on all the workouts!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies and Happy Monday ~ Weekend felt kind of busy and I worked 4 hours yesterday so it was here and gone before I knew it. Saturday evening was a Birthday party for a friend of DH's who just turned 50. We didn't stay real long but he was glad we made it. I did get my workout in on Saturday, which was S&S Total Body Giant Sets + Abwork. yesterday I got up and showered and went to work so by the time I got home I had to do groceries and meal prep for the week. Today's workout will be BootCamp after work.

Thelma: I knew you would pass!!! Congratulations, that is so awesome.

Laurel: Sounds like a great workout on Friday! Way to go. Hopefully you had a nice weekend.

Laurie: Hang in there on your busy day at work! I know about those all too well (as you know). Great job with the Barre Boxing workout; sounds interesting forsure.

Talk to you ladies tomorrow ~ Tami

Hi Ladies! Hope you all had a good weekend. We had a fantastic trip into the Artic Circle on Saturday. The weather was rainy, but that may have worked to our advantage as the road was very quiet. The road wasn't as bad as I thought, with huge sections even paved. The further north, the worse the frost heaves, of course. But we didn't have any issues. We originally thought we would go to the circle, take a photo and come home, but we got there before noon, so we headed up to the next 'town' which was 60 miles north. It wasn't really a town.....just about three buildings which included a really neat Interagency Artic Center. That 60 miles of scenery to get up there was stunning. So we made the 600 mile round trip in a little more than 12 hours. DH let me drive home from our furthest north point, so that helped break up the trip for both of us. Oddly I had seen this road (the Dalton Highway) featured on Ice Road Truckers (the one and only time I have watched that show, oddly) back when we were living in L.A. (after our first time living in Alaska), and I am so happy to have been able to finally drive a section of it. But that being said, you will not catch me on it in the winter. Those truckers are some brave beings, for sure.

So, obviously, Saturday was a day off the workouts. Yesterday I was back at it with STS Disc 32/Plyo Legs. For cardio, I did the 4DS BC/KB cardio combo, but I did it differently than I have done before. While the premix starts with the Kickboxing section, I decided to start with the Bootcamp, then did the Kickboxing section twice after. I loved it! It was a lot of fun that way. Today was STS Disc 31/Chest and Back. This is the heaviest week in STS (90% of 1RM), and I gave it my all. So I took a break after to get some energy back before doing XT Tabatacise and Core 1. Felt great today.

Thelma, congratulations!!! I am so happy to hear you passed your test. I bet that is a huge relief, especially since you didn't feel as prepared this time. You amaze me! I don't think I would do well in a test like that at all. Great job getting some tough workouts in this weekend as well! You are really taking it up a notch right now.

Laurie, no doubt this week is going to be crazy. I will be thinking about you! Hope you get a chance for some 'you' (aka workout) time this week, which will probably help with the stress. Totally understandable if you aren't able to check in the rest of the week. But I know I will be anxious to hear how everything went when you get back. Hoping for a truly wonderful day for your DD and her DH-to-be this weekend.

Tami, sounds like a busy weekend. Glad you got a chance to get a good workout in and visit with friends. Hope things are cooling off for you. I had to turn the heat on this morning. :o Not something I am ready for yet for sure.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! I managed to get 2 workouts today! This morning I did Jessica Smith Low Impact Hiit and tonight XT CBS w/u, HasFit Back & Biceps, Treadmill, Stretching. I am loving working out with Coach KozaK. This week's routine is all about going for fatigue with high reps so you can't really go heavy. Totally loving these workouts.

Thanks all for the congratulatory comments! What a relief! I got up early to study because there was one area I didn't have a chance to review last night. Something was telling me to review that stuff. Glad I did!

Laurie, great workout this morning! Is the wedding day finally here? Wow! How exciting! We want to see pictures!

Tami, great workouts! You had a busy weekend! Good job with the meal prep for the week! Such a time saving thing to do on the weekend!!

Laurel, awesome workouts! How exciting that you guys went to the Arctic Circle! Did you take pictures? Can you share some with us? I was just looking at some frost heaves pictures online and it can be be pretty bad!
DH and I used to watch Ice Road Truckers! They always talked about the Dalton Highway! I can't believe you did that long trip in 12 hours!
Passing that exam is a huge relief.Believe me I didn't want to take that exam or study for it. It was a mandatory thing at work that affects my performance review!
I have taken my workouts up a notch for sure. I've also cut back my calories because that is the only way I'm going to lose weight. I really feel that these HasFit workouts are changing my body. My body is actually loving these workouts. I don't dread them like I would dread some of Cathe's workouts. I think Coach Kozak is going to make it possible for me to actually have arm definition. I'm seeing my arms changing and I'm only on week 3. I am definitely going to do the 90 day rotation after I'm done with this one.

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

Hi Ladies! Another good workout today. I started with STS Disk 39/Squat Rack Legs and took it has heavy as I could. I followed it with STS Extended Stretch. For cardio, I did Cathe Live Cardio Mish Mosh, which is a good blend of steady state, HiiT, and cardio with weights. I tacked on the Blizzard Blast from Metabolic Total Body to take the workout to about 55 minutes. Good stuff.

Thelma, great workouts! I am so glad Becky helped you find those HasFit workouts!! Sounds like the perfect program for you. I love finding that 'just right' program where you start seeing the results. That's one of the reasons I am going to do that six month rotation which has you doing one type of lifting for a month at a time. For the past several years, my body has responded best to heavy lifting. But I think that might be changing right now. I think doing something solid for a month at a time will help me figure out what I should be more focused on.

I didn't take many pictures up in the Artic Circle to be honest. And the ones I took didn't turn out great because the weather was so murky. But here is a photo of DH and I at the circle:

    I'm the short one. ;)

    See you all tomorrow!

Hi Ladies ~ Last night was a good BootCamp class, felt like it flew by. It was a lot of strength based training along with some abwork; mostly back/bis and some legs mixed in. I hit the snooze this a.m. so will forsure head to Insane-X after work; we found out that the head trainer shot down Katy’s idea of the Tues/Thurs. Insanity Combo class. I thought she had it but she was actually presenting it to the head trainer who runs the classes. She is the one that took over the Thursday night Strong class and it isn’t very good since she took it over. I think she is worried Katy’s attendance will be much higher than hers. At any rate that is sad news for some of us.

Laurel: What a great picture of the 2 of you! Sounds like an amazing trip to the Arctic Circle! That alone sounds so impressive. Funny that tiny little town had like 3 buildings in it. Great job getting right back in it on Sunday with your killer workouts and again today with a great combo. Weekend was very busy and flew by for me forsure. We actually and FINALLY had weather go down into the low 80’s plus we had some wind and rain the other day so it blew all the smoke back to Canada. We are so relieved. We haven’t had clear skies in soooooo long. Its very refreshing.

Thelma: Fabulous job getting in your 2 workouts yesterday! Sounds like you and Coach Kozak are really hitting it off well! That is so nice when you find some workouts that just seem to click, so congrats on that! Yes, I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t meal prep each week ….. by the time I get home from the gym and shower it is after 7pm.

Hi Laurie – Hope you are having a good day!

Hi Ladies, not much time for a workout because I had an eye doctor appmt @ 4pm and at 5:45 I was still 7th in line! My doctor is a specialist in dry eyes and autoimmune diseases of the eye so he is always triple booked. I finally left at 5:45 and hit mega traffic. Thankfully I wasn't charged because they know I was there on time and it was going to be at least another hour before the doctor got to me. As I sat there in the waiting area I started to feel nauseous and by the time I got home I just wanted to go to bed which I did as soon as I changed into my workout clothes and a prilozec. So by 8PM I wasn't nauseous anymore and I went to the basement and did the shoulder work scheduled for today. Another great workout with moves very different than what I'm used to doing.
I got an email notification that my exam certificate was going to be mailed via snail mail and they mentioned my score. I had an extra point according to the official email! YAAAY!
I almost lost my Polar fitness tracker today! What a scare! The plastic band stretches with use so the watch can pop out. For the first time ever mine popped out all the way. I noticed that I was just wearing the band when I woke up from a cat nap at nap while I waited to see the doctor. Thankfully it had fallen inside my purse!

Laurel, wow! Another killer combo! Great job! Love that picture of you and your husband next to the Arctic Circle sign! Thanks for pointing out you're the short person in the picture!! LOL! Thanks for sharing!
Right now these HasFit workouts are working for me. I think they are the shock my body needs right now. I wish the Bowflex dumbbells weren't so gigantic! There are some moves where I could co a little heavier but the size of those beasts makes it unsafe because I can't do the right form due to their size.

Tami, glad you had a good BootCamp class! What a shame that Katy's class ideas got shot down!
Thank God you finally had some relief with those temps!
I've definitely hit it off with Coach Kozak. This is just so perfect for me right now. I always worry when we do a rotation and I never have time for cardio. Right now this is so soo good and I'm very happy Becky shared the link with us.
I honestly don't know how people have the time and energy to cook every day after a long day at work! I love getting our cooking for the week done on Sundays!

    Hi Laurie!
    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! Another good workout today. I have really felt like pushing it with both strength and cardio this week, so I am just going with it. I know that will change back to my 'I don't want to!' whining soon. :p So today I did STS Disk 32/Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps, and lifted as heavy as I could. For cardio, I did a Cathe Live combo. I started with High and Low Impact HiiT w/Step from three years ago. I loved this workout! It was filmed about the time RWH came out, and it alternated Low Impact moves from RWH LI HiiT One with high impact Step moves from Plyo HiiT Two. That Plyo HiiT Two is not my favorite workout, but having the lower impact moves in between really made the workout feel safer for me. It was about 30 minutes of cardio, so I added on another class from this year which was Low Impact Cardio HiiT, which combined some RWH moves with moves from ICE Low Impact Sweat. Good stuff!

Tami, that's disappointing about the Tuesday/Thursday class. It sounded like such a good idea. I hate to think the idea of competition on one night is what stopped it......but things like that do happen. So glad to hear you have cooled down and are getting some fresher air. We have definitely hit early fall with temps in the 60s (and not going up anymore) with the leaves rapidly changing. I have all the windows in the house open as much as I can (though it has been raining) because in six weeks, we are technically (per our lease) supposed to close them and keep them closed until May. So I am trying to take in all the fresh air I can right now!

Thelma, yuck on waiting at your eye doctor's office so long....and still not being seen. I would have felt poorly after sitting there like that as well. Glad you felt better after some rest and were able to do a workout. I think I would have stayed in bed. B) I looked at getting some Bowflex dumbbells when we were toying with me splitting my time between Alaska and Florida if our house didn't sell since I know you and Tami use them. But I was wondering how they would feel on some moves. I think with my wonky shoulder and not having full range of motion in it I might have struggled on some shoulder moves, especially anything done at a faster pace. I may still try them down the road when I need to downsize my workout room footprint, but I think I might always keep my lighter dumbbells for shoulder work. We'll see. Maybe I will never have to downsize! :p A girl can dream.

Laurie, thinking of you this week and hope all is going well!

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, tonight I did Rock'm Sock'm Blizzard Blast premix, HasFit Legs, Treadmill, Stretching. It was a good combo! Tomorrow is my Friday this week! :D

Laurel, great combo! Glad you enjoyed it.
The BowFlex are good for legs, back, chest even shoulders. I hate them for biceps, specially when you have to turn the dumbbell at the top during a curl. I do like them for hammer curls. You so would totally need your small dumbbells for some shoulder work. If you ever get the BowFlex, don't get rid of your other dumbbells until have used the giant ones for a while.
Normally I would've stayed in bed but I purposely changed into my workout clothes so I wouldn't have any excuses for not working out in case I felt better. Also this tells me I'm really liking this rotation because normally I wouldn't have worked out that late in the day. Tonight was another late workout but I still did it.

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies ~ Sorry I missed you all yesterday….. was doing a little more training on our new system and then had a lunch date with my DH, so that was nice. Tuesday evening was Katy’s Insane-X and she did stations in the gym area w/ a partner. Box Jumps, Heavy Plate pushes, candlestick-into-handstands, jump ropes, Heavy KB swings, wall balls and Sprints as the last station. It was a great workout. Yesterday was High Reps in the a.m. yesterday and Spinning in the evening. Both were really good. Today’s workout was PHA Training, no workout tonight. Not going to the STRONG class tonight, it’s just not as good as what it was when the other lady had it for that very short time. I will go if I am just “needing” a workout but otherwise will probably not go back.

Thelma: What an evening just sitting at the eye doctor’s office, how frustrating!!!! Amazing after feeling nauseous you were able to get in your workout, way to go. Thank goodness your watch did not fall off anywhere but your purse. Our little gadgets are priceless to us!! Isn’t that sad about Katy’s classes getting shot down. She didn’t address it to the group, just to a few of us and we were sort of discussing our thoughts about it. So nobody knows the reason forsure. Excellent workouts yesterday. Hope you have a great day today since it is your Friday.

Laurel: Sounds like you are feeling great this week, that’s awesome. Not that I can tell from your workouts when you aren’t …… LOL just that you mention that you are feeling like pushing it this week. It is sad but I think true on Katy’s classes being shot down. There really is no other reason in our heads and the gal that approves or doesn’t isn’t going to say “because she is being selfish about her own class”. Katy is kind of the black sheep of the instructors I would say and pushes the envelope so they make it harder for her to be creative; strange. Enjoy that fresh air! I know we are loving having windows open again without our house smelling like a campfire. Low 80’s and sunshine this weekend, which will be perfect.

    Hi Laurie ~

    Until tomorrow ~ Tami

Hi Ladies! I did another tough combo today......tougher than I thought it would be to be honest. I started with Cardio Slam which is always a good one. Then I went into a Cathe Live workout called Fitness Fusion from a couple of years ago. The description said it was some Kickboxing, some HiiT, then Lower Body and Core. I thought it wouldn't be too tough because Cathe doesn't usually do really tough cardio before strength. Boy was I wrong! That was one seriously tough workout! Cathe just would not stop moving. :p It is a cool day up here (50 degrees) and I was absolutely drenched and done at the end. Of course.....I loved it. :) But next time I do it, I won't do something like Cardio Slam first, that's for certain. Anyhow, I had some time left over, so I popped in Yoga Relax and did one of the express premixes. That felt fantastic.

Thelma, sounds like a great workout. I love that Blizzard Blast. It always gets my energy up, even when I don't think that is possible. Thank you for the input on the Bowflex weights. I can see why the bicep curl with the rotation could be a problem. I would probably have bruises all over the place until I figured out where I needed to turn the weight! As it is, I am forever hitting myself with my dumbbells. :# DH is always asking me how I get beat up.....and I just stare at him. After 27 years, he knows how graceful I am not. B)

Tami, sounds like a good Insane X class. I am sorry your Thursday night workouts aren't good anymore. That, combined with Katy being told 'no' in her class has to be disappointing. It is too bad that Katy doesn't get more support from the gym. Again, it says a great deal about her professionalism that she keeps doing her thing and tries to come up with new ideas and programs. Glad you are enjoying some better end-of-summer weather right now.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, tonight I actually got home at early compared to previous nights and I procrastinated. I didn't want to workout so at 8:45 I forced myself to go workout. I told myself just do the HasFit workout so that is essentially what I did. XT CBS w/u, HasFit Chest and Triceps, Treadmill, Stretching.

Tami, another tough BC class! Glad you liked it. I can just imagine your disappointment when Katy told you her proposal for new classes had been shot down! I hope a nice lunch date with your DH!
I would've been devastated and lost if I had lost my fitness watch! Our little gadgets are definitely priceless to us.

Laurel, great job with that tough combo today! Cardio Slam is hard by itself.
The Blizzard workout is really good. OMG if you hit yourself with normal barbells, you might knock yourself out with the giant BowFlex ones! LOL. Funny about your husband asking you how you get beat up. I hate it when I hit my kneecaps with the BowFlex's.

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope Laurie's DD has a beautiful wedding day. Lots of happiness to her and her new DH!

Hi Ladies! Was feeling tired today and couldn't decide which workouts to do. So, of course, that resulted in a long, tough mish-mosh of workouts for me. But it was good. I did all Cathe Live workouts. I started with one of my favorites which is Lift It HiiT It Live, which got my heart rate up. Then I did Love Those Legs, which was a blend of leg and cardio work. That was a tough combo! Then I finished it all off with Cathe's class from yesterday which was Buff Upper Body. I have no idea if this workout might be a bit of what to expect from her new workouts, but if it is, we are in for some good stuff. The reason I think these might be related to the new workouts is that the workout was arranged in a push/pull format, which she is using for two of the workouts. So, for instance, the first segment was Shoulders and Biceps, and she did four exercises back-to-back (alternating shoulder and bicep) at 12 reps, the quick (very quick break) before repeating at 10 reps then at 8 reps. The entire workout was done at a pretty rapid pace with a lot of those types of drop-sets. Really good workout!

Thelma, wow.....I am impressed you worked out that late. That time of night I have settled in with a cup of tea and am contemplating sleep......and I don't work! Amazing. I always am hitting my knees with my weights. I have even managed to knock my glasses off with my weights at times. Yea, big weights probably aren't a good idea for me. B)

    Tami, hope you are well.

Laurie, thinking about you this weekend! Hope you, your DD and her new DH and all of your family have the time of your lives! All the best to you and the newly married couple!

    Enjoy the weekend.

    Thelma

I just checked out HASfit.. I never heard of it. Looks like loads of free workouts. Thank you for the links! :)

Hi Ladies! I hope you had a great weekend. I loved my long weekend. It was very relaxing!
On Friday I got up early so I could go run my errands. Glad I did that! In the afternoon I got a nice workout KCM 30 MTF Fitness Cardio Quick Fix, HasFit Back & Biceps, Treadmill, Stretching. On Saturday I worked out twice. I discovered a new workout program in YouTube which I LOVED and I highly recommend: Body Project Boxing Abs cardio. I was drenched in sweat by the time the workout finished. Abs minus the torture of abs! It was an interval type of workout. Cardio, then abs, cardio and abs again. The floor intervals were very good. Lots of plank variations too. He has a modifier so if you don't feel like doing the jumping parts follow the modifier. This workout was a lot of fun ladies!

    https://youtu.be/rVjSQ6NXAO8

On Saturday afternoon I tried another Fit Tower workout also very good: Fit Tower Legs & Core, Treadmill, Stretching.
I'm happy to report that my hard work and good eating are paying off. On Friday I was able to wear my skinny jeans again! I'm not losing weight so I must be gaining muscle tone. On Sunday morning I did Body Project 25 minute interval cardio.
I spent Sunday afternoon surfing Zillow.com for homes in Western NC and Northern GA. I found 8 houses that we want to see. 2 in NC and 6 in GA. So our vacation is not going to be much of a vacation but more of retirement home research trip.

Laurel, you always come up with a really tough workout combo when you're tired! Don't know how you do it! Great job! I hope you're right about that workout being part of the new program because it sounds really good!

I normally would've skipped working out that late in the day but I have to lose some weight and I'm running out of time! 2 more weeks!

    leanerstrongerhealthier, you're very welcome!

    Hi Tami and Laurie!

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

I'm off work today, but this will be short. I hope to post again later today with more "workout" information. Wedding update: The day was beautiful, and my dd was beautiful. The youngest did a wonderful job on all the hair, and the wedding started on time. ;) Right now my parents are still here, and they will be heading out this morning to go home with my niece. My dd and new SIL held a marvelous party, the food was delicious, music was good and everyone commented that they had a great time. The wedding planner was well worth the money that dd spent. I'm going to make sure that everyone knows about her service, it they are planning on getting married. Here is a pic of my dd, hope to have a few more later in the week.

Sorry to intrude on this thread, but I have been considering trying Cathe workouts. Can you tell me what results you all have gotten? I am looking to get leaner and smaller and am worried about bulking up (I know some people say it is almost impossible for women to bulk from weights but that has not been my experience and I have seen some friends also get bigger without trying to--not that it is a bad look, it is just not what I am looking for so if that is your aesthetic please don't take offense). Would this be a good program for me? Thank you!

Hi Ladies ~ Weekend was good for workouts! I did KCM Strength & Stamina on Saturday and yesterday did XT Chest/Back/Shoulders "Double Pre-Mix", which is always good and I was feeling it even later in the day. My weekend was mostly consumed with helping DH ..... his back completely went into muscle spasm; to the point of not being able to hardly stand or move. So yesterday we went to the doctor and they gave him a shot (Tordal ?sp) which is like a heavy anti inflammatory drug and then muscle relaxers. He is slightly better today which is good; can get up and down but it tightens back up quickly. So poor DH and last night he said I should have went and done something fun without him. Right!?! Tonight I will head to BC after work.

Laurie: Your daughter looks absolutely stunning and I am so glad it was such a wonderful day! I am sure you looked beautiful as well.

Thelma: Sounds like you had a fabulous weekend and congrats on the skinny jeans and muscle tone you are developing! That is fantastic and I am sure very inspiring to keep going with these new online workouts you have found! Yay

Laurel: Sounds like another fabulous combo on Friday and I am sure you hit it hard this weekend as well! That newer one you did sounds like it just might be a format for the new ones coming this Fall/Winter! Good stuff I am sure.

Happy Monday ladies and Eclipse Day! Talk to you tomorrow ~

Hi Ladies! We had a nice weekend. It rained all day Saturday, but we got some work done around the house and some errands accomplished. I didn't workout, per my usual. Yesterday was the start of upper/lower week. I did S&S Total Body Giant Sets Lower Body Only premix x 3. :o I remember Tami did this premix and said something like 'it was beginning to feel a bit tough by the third round.....or something similarly mild. My reaction was definitely more :# . That is one seriously tough Lower Body workout, and I could feel it all over my body this morning. Wow. I did follow it with Cardio Core Circuit. Today was the Upper Body tripled premix from the Giant Sets workout (also tough!) followed by a fun cardio combo......Hard Strikes cardio into RWH Low Impact HiiT Two. Felt perfect on this tired body.

Laurie, that photo is amazing!!! Your DD looks so beautiful. I am so happy to hear that all went well. I am sure it will take a few days to catch your breath though.

Thelma, great workouts. That Boxing Abs looks good! Congratulations on getting back into your skinny jeans. You have inspired me to get serious again! I have been doing great in the workouts, but the diet......not so much. But with winter coming, I want to be able to wear my cute jeans. So the Fitbit is back on my wrist, and DH and I have promised each other we won't lead the other down the path towards cookies all winter. ;) Want to feel more like myself before the first snow falls.

Tami, I am so sorry to hear about your DH! Back spasms like that are so painful. Hopefully some rest and medication will have him on his feet soon. Great workouts this weekend! As you can see above, I followed your lead in doing that triple lower body premix from Total Body Giant Sets. Yowza!! Thanks for the motivation. Don't know how often I will do that one, but I am glad I did it at least once!

afcgirl, I have done Cathe workouts for close to 20 years. :o To be honest, my results really depend on how much effort I am willing to put into the workouts. But I do credit Cathe's STS for helping me to lose 50lbs almost nine years ago. That was when I joined this website as well. She has a huge variety of workouts to choose from to help you achieve your results. To prevent bulking, I would suggest focusing on her more endurance-based workouts (higher reps, lower weights). She also has some great Circuit or Metabolic workouts that are great for overall conditioning but aren't traditional strength/muscle building programs. I don't know what your level of exercise is or how much equipment you have, but if I had to suggest a series to look in to, I would recommend Cathe's ICE series. This is a more intermediate series, but it has so many options to it that it is great for advanced exercisers as well. The series contains a couple of cardio workouts (Low Impact and Kickboxing), a Bootcamp workout (circuit), and Metabolic workout, two lower body workouts (one standing, one floor), and a very light upper body workout. Each workout also has an optional 'blast' you can do as an add-on or a separate short workout that is more advanced. In addition, the series has five Muscle Meltdown segments, each containing a high rep program for each upper body part. Finally, there are two good core workouts. So, in other words, there is a lot on a few discs, and you can use the program in a hundred different ways depending on your time, your ability, etc. But, again, that is just a suggestion. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask. Between all of us, I think we own all of Cathe's workouts. So if you have a question about a specific workout, again.....please ask. Hope this helps!!

Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse today. We only got a 33% coverage, so it was like a cloud passing over the sun. I saw a total eclipse back in 1999, though, so I know how fantastic they can be!

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies! Tonight I did a really good combo: KCM 30MTF Your Best Body Cardio/Legs Pmx, HasFit 15 Minute Leg + 12 Minute Obliques Workouts, Treadmill, Stretching. I feel like I'm doing baby versions of Laurel's killer combos! LOL
I'm happy to report that I went shopping up in the attic tonight. I was specifically looking for my denim, white capris. They fit me again! This means I'm almost where I was last summer at this time! YES! I think I'm about one inch (literally 1 in) away from being where I want to be. I tried on the shorts I took to NC last September and they fit! I feel like singing "I'm so excited and I just can't hide it...." LOL

I just can't even begin to explain how much this HasFit workout routine has helped me. I think this is the shock my body needed as Laurel has mentioned in the past. My body feels different. My jell-o abs are starting to tone up. I can see it. I'm starting to feel athletic. Not that I know what that feels like but that is the word that comes to mind. I can see that my shoulder line is changing. I'm standing straighter. It's all good. I'm inspired to keep going. One of the things I love about the short workouts is that they allow me to incorporate a cardio workout which I couldn't do with the lenghty Cathe workouts. I think the cardio is making the difference.
BTW, that Obliques workout was a little bit of a killer but very good!
    https://youtu.be/GZz5gw9l9Lg

Laurie, your daughter looks lovely. I was just looking at the picture and your yougest did an awesome job with her hair. She is really GOOD!

afcgirl, I really can't add anything more than what Laurel has told you. Definitely chime in any time you need help with choosing a workout or if you need inspiration!

Tami, great workouts this weekend! OMG your poor DH!!! Do you have a heating pad? That might help get the blood flowing in those tight areas.

Thanks so much Tami! I am very inspired to keep going thanks to these YouTube workouts.

Laurel, glad you had a nice weekend! You didn't workout like you normally do? Seriously? Your workous sound like killer workouts to me. So I think you DID work out as hard as you normally do! :)

The Boxing Abs workout is really good. I think you would love doing it.
Thank you on the congrats for getting into the skinny jeans again. I can't believe how good I've been about food. I wish I could always be this committed when it comes to food. It has been a learning moment for me. Clearly I was eating too much. I basically have cut anywhere between 50 and 100 calories a day. Normally I wouldn't have cut 100 calories given that my allowance is 1200 calories a day but I have limited time to lose the weight. This strategy is working for me. I'll have to count calories for the rest of my life cause it's too easy to eat too much. I also could never be without my fitness watch. This is an instrumental tool for me.
Laurel, I'm so happy to have been able to inspire you! Normally all of you are my inspiration! The diet is definitely key because God knows that I workout all the time and the weight stayed on. Clearly that says I was eating too much for the calories I was burning. You will feel like the Laurel you love in no time!

    Good night ladies!
