If your new, please join us. All are welcome here. We are here to encourage, motivate, and hold each other accountable.
This is a journey about becoming an expert on our own body. No two bodies are the same. Therefore, no ‘diet’ plan works for all. Anyway, this is a lifestyle change not a diet. If we don’t see a loss; let’s not count it as a failure. Let us experiment and discover what works best for our beautifully and wonderfully made bodies. With that being said if someone strikes a challenge to the team and its not beneficial or is harmful to you please don’t feel bad (for example many drink half their weight in water but having a kidney disease excludes me from that challenge). There is no judgement here. No finger pointing. No one else can claim to be an expert on your body but you. It’s a process. We are here to support that process.
Fridays are weigh in days for those participating. Record it like this:
(username) sw208 gw150 cw 172 loss -2 lbs
When you post, copy and paste the list and add your results to the bottom of the list in your post, so that at the end we can see our results as a team - because that's what we are. A team Trying Hard Everyday.
Welcome to T.H.E. Team!

Had a -1.2 this week. That is actually big for me. I'm usually a 1/2 lb a week loser. My week will wrap up with 108 miles bike, 6 miles run, 1x swim, 3x strength training.
So I'm ready for the holiday challenge. 1lb per week goal for me. -10 for Thanksgiving, -14 for Christmas, -15 for New Years.

Oh and the Thanksgiving challenge... I guess that's the US Thanksgiving because the Canadian Thanksgiving is in 3 weeks and 3 days

Hi team, well, I had gained back just a little over ten pounds during my summer away. I am now within two pounds of where I was when I left. Makes me feel pretty foolish, but at the same time, I am really glad to be back on the right track. And I must say, I am feeling GREAT!!! I will exercise today again, and that will reach my exercise goal for the week, but I still plan to exercise tomorrow as well. Next week, I expect my ticker to finally move down. YAY!!!!!!! Here is my goal for weight loss until Christmas = 30 pounds. I really hope to lose more, but that will be 2 pounds a week. I've been eating well within my calorie goals and now I just need to get my water consumption up. Thanks for being here everyone. Good luck and have a blessed weekend. Love you all!

Count me in on the holiday challenge. I have 20 lbs to lose by Christmas to reach my goal weight.:drinker: I hear the last few pounds can be the hardest so I will need the team!0 -

lulu- whoo hoo!!!!!
i was going to to a spreadsheet to embed on this sight. i've seen someone do it and mailed them but haven't heard back. I thought it would be good for the challenge to see it in writing every week in a spread sheet. any ideas how to accomplish that on here? (ps copy and paste doesn't work).0 -
dr oz says you can't wait for motivation to act but you must act to be motivated. isn't that true like adopt4 was doing....fake it till you make it.0

Happy Saturday..
I like that saying " Fake it till you make it" .. I think that's a great idea..
I am up.
So last night we went to Mexican.. I had 4 chips with salsa and declined to eat.. I came home and ate Jenny Craig... I really felt the strength in me for the first time....
Got in a good workout this morning..
So I have to tell ya all something funny... All these years I thought I was 5"4.. No it's worse, I am 5"2.. God I am short...
I am off to go weigh in....
Have a great day everyone...
Anita:drinker:0 -
Good morning team, what a beautiful Saturday it is! I am off to Recovery Day in a minute, but wanted to check in. had breakfast on the patio - granola, yogurt, fresh berries and toast. It was great! I hope to go for a bike ride later, and if I don't get the courage up to do that, it will just be a workout. Anyway, have a great weekend!
Lulu, thanks again - you rock.
Prayerful - you too!!! - I don't know how to do a spread sheet in MFP. Maybe we should email Mike?
Nita - wow! Willpower to spare. That is amazing. I am not sure I could do that. Good job!
Everyone else, check in, and take care! Love you!0 -
JLB - WOWSER:noway: What a FANTASTIC week you had! Right?!?! Way to goooooo!
It was good. But, it was pretty much week 1, so I'm going to be realistic and set this week's goal at 3 pounds.
I didn't exercise last night because I wasn't feeling well thanks to tom. But my food total was somehow only 1189 and even included 2 beers. :ohwell:
Keep up the awesome work, everyone! :flowerforyou:0 -

Well group...glad to see everyone is doing so well. Once again I kind of went MIA. Was rising to the challenge of going for a walk that Prayerfulmom had put out there...and came home from work and had company. Was too ashamed that I failed that challenge....so stuck my head in the sand for a few days.
But now on a good note. I went for a walk today and also went to the gym to get refamiliarized (if that is a word) with the strength training machines. So...I am not a complete loss..just a temporary one. One more B/day tomorrow to get through and then things should settle down till Thankgiving. Which for us Canadians is in about 3 weeks. ) But I figure if I can just stick to the plan till then I will be okay to eat as I wish that day...mind you I do believe in one day off a week so you don't get frustrated.
Also, did my test on Friday will see doctor next week on results. Man a no fat supper and nothing for the rest of the night was tough. Rabbit food...that was it and it sure doesn't stay with you long. LOL
Anyways...will keep posting...and keep trying. I really want this badly. Sorry if I seem repetitive I am sorry, bear with me and I hope that eventually it won't sound like the same song and dance.
Keep smiling guys...you are all GREAT!!!!
Hugs.

anita-congrats! your doin' it! bet that feeling from dinner carries on.
kristi-mmmm that sounds yummy. i have have 2 breakfasts during the week. 1st at 4:30 am a smoothie before my bike ride in to work. since i've been on a 12 hour fast really need that energy. then at about 7:30 i have steelcut oatmeal with blueberries. yummy. glad to see you back. hope you did that bike ride or other movement. don't let courage stop you lady. look what all you've accomplished already.
button- that challenge was not meant to shame you. it was just to get in a bit of movement during all the celebration. Please shake it off and start fresh tomorrow k. Yeah on the gym!
jlb- don't dismiss what a great week you had. allow the celebration! 3 weeks may be a little high for next week but may be doable. shoot for the starts. congrats on your success for the first week!
yesterday was a no count day. I did a 5k yesterday for exercise.0 -
Happy Sunday....
Got a good 40 min walk this morning...
Today off to Reno to visit my parents... I am taking my food with me.. My mom always just has chips and dips and it's so hard to resist.. My game plan, carrots and fat free sour cream as well as some pringles (reduced fat) and of course some salsa.. Jenny Craig food as planned.. Hoping to stick with it.. Planning on lots of water today...
Feels good to be back...
Thanks Prayerfulmom for all the encourgement...0 -
Way to go you losers. Keep up the good work everyone. I totally busted this weekend. We had our last major cook out yesterday and I have been doing soooo good I wanted to give in a bit. So, I treated myself to some nice food. I didn't eat all of it though. I left food on my plate on purpose. It was nice. I still tried to obey my serving sizes. I even ran around and played some soccer with a friend while drinking lol. I know I busted this weekend on calories, but thinking about it I'm not sad or anything about it. I do a good job of keeping to my new life style that I want to be able to bust a few times because I know that it's not a huge set back because of how few times I do bust. Thanks for the pic comments. I haven't had time to read much because I've been away from the computer. But I will later.0

Hi everyone,
I've had a really rough weekend personally and otherwise. One of my dogs (I have 6) broke his right front leg in March & had 2 surgeries & a plate put in. He's been recovering and rehabilitating from that for 6 months and had come so far. Then yesterday, he was prancing around during his rare couple of hours/week out of his crate off leash and broke his right front leg. :noway: I was an emotional wreck because I thought we were going to have to let him go. I'm still a wreck because I'm really concerned about his quality of life, but we went ahead and pushed forward with trying to get this leg to heal and just see what happens. At least now we have 6-8 weeks to prepare ourselves for possible having to make an impossible decision.
Anyway, I didn't meet my calories yesterday (I don't think I even made it to 700), or today, despite my efforts to force myself to eat. I just have a hard time eating when I'm very upset. At least I got to exercise tonight, but I think my calories will only be up to 1000 when I go to bed in a few hours. I've tried my best to stay on track and keep my metabolism up. I'll do better tomorrow.0 -
Hi team, looks like a sort of slow weekend for everyone. Kelli and Cyndi, where are you? Jib - sorry about your dog! I hate those kinds of things, and am not good at them either. Good luck with that and keep us posted. Well, I had family over today for a sort of end of summer bbq for my father's birthday. It was very nice. We had good, healthy food.
Tomorrow starts a new week - lets all be good to ourselves, eating and exercising well! Take care!
Kristi0 -
Howdy peeps! Okay, super busy "temptation" weekend - two dinners out and a baby shower! Not only did I do really well on food at all of them, but I didn't even feel like I was missing anything - that's a good thing.
I've always been the kind of person that longs for whatever I'm told I can't have - If I was told not to chew gum in class, allllll I could think about was gum.... developed an allergy to shellfish, alllll I want is some stinking shrimp already! Told that because of high tryglycerides I need to cut out sugar - YIKES. I am reframing it- -- so that actually, what I'm being told is I can't have good health. Now, alllllll I want is good health, so I WILL have my good health and I'll do what it takes to get it!
JLB - I'm so sorry about you dog You have to take care of youself - get your cals in with slimfast or something if you don't feel like eating - you still need the nutrients. ((((hugs))))
Buttonnose - keep coming - no shame here - it's not allowed. Own you life and keep coming - that' s what matters.
Pawprint - Glad you had a good weekend!
Anita - way to be strong!! Love it!
Kristi - mmmmmm, good breakfast!
Prayerful - Sorry, can't help embed a spreadsheet on MFP - I'm only a little geeky, not super geeky, though I'd like to be:)
Everyone have a great week!! Eat right, drink well, move much!0 -
Good Morning Teamies..
It feels so good to be back on track.. I got through a Sunday at my Mom's.. I was proud of her, she sat out the chips and dips but didn't put them in front of everyone, everyone had to get up and serve themselves it they wanted some.. For me she had fruit and carrots.. Good Mom!! : ).
Monday, ugg, hate them.. Today is a no walk day for me.. However I will do some weights and some squats...
I hope everyone has a great day and I will check in later when I log some food...
Anita0 -
Morning everyone!
The weekend was another bust for me... that's because I'm so sick with a head cold (I think it's starting to move to my chest) ... no exercise at all and it doesn't look like I'll be doing anything today either... will try to eat better and drink more water today... I didn't realize how hard it is to stay on track when your so sick :frown: Well this can't last forever... and as soon as I'm able I will get right back to it!!
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Hello
Hope everyone is doing well....I am back to square one and really hope I can stick with my goals this time no matter what happens.0 -
I hate when the weather changes... I can't breathe through my nose.... I feel like I have a broken nose with all the pressure and I can't hear myself talk lol.... it sucks.0
-
Jamie - so good to see you back! I like the new pic.! Pawprint, I am with you! I can't figure out where all that snot comes from! (TIM, I know!) Hey gang, have a great week! I am getting ready to do my workout and then off to work. Take care!
Kristi0 -
Wow! Congratulations to all you losers ( ) this week! Thats great news!!
I have some news to share of my own....
First off... hubby got the new job and will be starting that on October 5th. He'll be traveling all the time (about 34 weeks out of the year) but usually not more than 3 weeks at a time. He's putting his notice in today at the current company. Had to wait until he had a written offer before I could say anything but we have known since last Friday. He got the official written offer yesterday and we are both just so thrilled since it means I wont have to go back to work at all but instead may be going back to school.
Second, we have a new family member. Adopted from the house we have been cleaning up for the last month. Her name is Salem and she's a big super sweet and lovey black kitty cat. My other 2 kitties arent too sure of her yet but we have been keeping her quarantined until the vet gives her a clean bill of health. She seems pretty content to be in the garage for now.
Third, This week was a really good one for eating and getting in exercise. The monthly visitor was in town and I did good avoiding the sugar and crud that comes with her. Still not back to the gym, but we'll see what the Dr says tomorrow about my arm. Still having issues with some tendonitis and tight muscles in my forearm but my wrist feels a ton better.
Still holding out at 212, which Im glad for. Even with that time, I only gained 2lbs of water weight which is a major improvement over the last couple months. I'll see what the Dr's scale says tomorrow.. Also plan to talk to her about an ideal goal weight.0
