Brisk walking on an incline on the treadmill is a fantastic workout.
So true, I can burn up to 450 in just 30 minutes, it's a great way to start my day.

I am currently on my last week of C25k. I usually start off with 10 minutes at speed 3.5 on a 4% incline for 10 minutes, then jog at speed 6 with no incline for half hour. I like to mix it up! When I first joined a gym, I would only walk on the highest incline at speed 4 for an hour......never ran.......then 3 months later wondered why I didnt lose any weight!

I run on the treadmill. It's too hot to run outside right now. Sidewalk running is the hardest on the knees and joints, so that is the main reason I run inside. There is no way I'm going to run on the "walk/run" paths on the asphalt/road with the crazy drivers in my town.

I own a treadmill because it is over 110˚ outside over half the year and I work long hours, so I want to be at home with my dog in the evenings. Yes, it's boring but it works. I get a lot of reading done, which is good since I'm an English teacher.
