Any temptations by your gym

My former gym was in a shopping center with a deli, a Japanese restaurant, a Chinese restaurant and right next to a Mexican restaurant (my favorite, and I could smell the yumminess coming through the walls). My current gym is next door to a bar, which is more annoying than tempting.

    Mine is across the street from a Mexican restaurant. At boot camp on Friday nights (when we all wish we were on the patio drinking margaritas and eating guacamole) we run outside and just smell it. :(

    It seems like every gym I have gone to in Texas has a liquor store close by.

    Mine is in my office building. So thankfully, the only temptation is to break my "don't dip your pen in company ink" rule.

    Outside mine is a Grandy's and Chick-Fil-A. The first week I started to the gym, I felt like it was torture. Some days if i'm starving I think, wow, that smells good.

    There is a bread factory near my gym. It often smells like doughnuts. There should be some law against that.

    Frozen Yogurt... the kind where you can add your own toppings. Thus far, I've taken my kids twice but haven't purchased any for myself (OR snitched so much as even a little bite from them!)

    the only temptation my gym has is its own protein shake bar. So-- Im good.

    Mine is in a little strip mall with a Quiznos and a Little Caesars which is not fun after my workout. There is also a Burger King across the street and a Perkins next door.

    In the same parking lot, there is a Farrell's Ice Cream parlor. Home of "The Trough"

    Also, Hawaiian BBQ, Hometown Buffet, On The Border, Starbucks, Tasty Goody Chinese Crap, McDonalds and Panera Bread.


    My gym is SURROUNDED by caloric explosions of foodishness.

    There aren't any real temptations outside of my gym, but once a month INSIDE the gym they have free pizza in the evening and free muffins and bagels in the morning. It's just....ridiculous!

    Cute trainers every where I look....I think that's the biggest temptation. Other than that, nothing really.

    Mine shares a parking lot with Fox and Hound Resturant and a Subway. It's also by a Portillios.

    Since I don't understand the obsession with Portillios and think it's ridiculously over priced, I never go there.

    Subway to me is disgusting and there are way better sub options.

    Fox and Hound is Ok, but again over priced.. and I'm cheap.

    So yea there are temptations.. but I never give into any of them!

    A pizza hut, starbucks, sushi place, bar, liquor store and a 7-11. There was a bakery as well, but it went out of business.

    The only temptation are the guys working out there! It wouldn't be a problem if there were only one or two, but there are lots of hot guys at my gym!

    A bar INSIDE the gym, all the vending machines, a petrol station shop, a pizza takeaway, a bakery, a deli, a sandwich shop, two chippy's, a chinese, bargain booze, co-op, sweet shop, corner shop and my weird neighbour who likes to give out treats to people for no reason. :sad: Not to mention the kitchen which I have to go through on the way up to my bedroom when I get back. :grumble:

    Edit: Please note, this is all in the 20 minute walk to and from the gym and my house. God knows what there is lurking up the streets I don't go down. :noway:

    I don't have a gym membership, but my running route goes right by a Chipotle and Panda Express, and if I run by as they're getting ready to open, I can smell the food.

    The one at school as vending machines with junk food in it, but hey it's a school and i'm sure the company makes them put those things everywhere. the other gym i'm by has a baskin robbins, mexican, couple deli places, buffalo wild wings, etc.

    College Area, no escaping, haha

    Mine is actually perfectly situated by neat, health-focused things. There's a health store, a Massage Envy and a smoothie place, and my shrink's office is two minutes away. :wink:

    I work in a gym, and upstairs, right before you exit, is a Frozen Yogurt place. The yogurt itself is low fat, but the tempting stuff you wanna pour on top isn't. And after a workout, nothing sounds as good as one of those things. I've managed to not give in yet, but man, it's been close a couple of times :)
