We have quite the group now with all the new members we are getting. Hooray!! :flowerforyou: :drinker: However most of us seem to have plateaued. If I didn't get your weight I left it the same, Let me know if it is different and I will change it in the log.
Congratulations to Taradise on being the biggest loser this week!:drinker: I actually remembered to highlite it this time.

I am thinking of a pushup challenge this week. How many full push ups can you do? Once you have that figured out then you can try and do more. What do you think??

Have a great one!:flowerforyou:

The end of my first official day on the blue team. I feel like I should write a country song to commemorate the occasion . . .

OH Neat! I'm the biggest loser! How cool is that?!?

The pushup challenge this week should be interesting. My marshmellow biceps are going to be screaming!! But I guess that's the point.

Hope everyone has a great week!!

    Hey Blue Team!

Congrats Taradise!! And congrats to all who maintained or just refocused this week, even if we gain, the important thing is to keep coming back & regroup! Get our heads in the game, ya know!! Take one day at a time!!

I love the push up challenge!! I can do about 10-12 man push ups & would like to add 2 a day to make it to 20 by next week. Watcha think?? Totally do-able, right?? LOL! We'll see!!

Blues - let's all shoot for some loss this week - push hard - even if it's .1 pounds - we can do it!!!!!

I HATE pushups so that would be a challenge for me....but guess what - I did 2 real (no on the knees) push ups the other day! I was so proud! After all my surgeries, my upper body has been so weak so that was huge accomplishment for me.

Feeling like a failure today - didn't even get thru week 2 of my training and can't do anything today - my heal spur is absolutely KILLING me - woke me up about every hour last night. AAARRRGGGGHHH but I am smart enough to rest it - if I am going to be able to run on Saturday. Just ticks me off! Oh well - it won't stop me for long....I will run Saturday! I've been heating and icing it today. Well ice is next - it's a chilly morning.

Taradise-way to go...I know how hard it is to lose those last pounds and you rocked it girl!
Mary-sing away - I've got my dancing shoes on! (if you'll count my socks as shoes)
    Welcome back pshook!

Chrissy with all your accomplishments I don't know how you can say you feel like a failure. I wish I could accomplished half of what you have. A couple days of rest will do the body good if you are having problems. :drinker:

It's the first time that something has stopped me from doing what I really want to do - pisses me off! I'll be right back to it - but man this workingout has me addicted!
Hi my name is Chrissy and I am an addict!

I am hoping all this resting from being sick will make me a meaner fighting machine next week--I was an exercise addict once.

I am going to do my pushups today. I will start with 4 and add one each day. Manly pushups of course!!

Lets have a great day and maybe we can try to average 0.5 lbs loss this week. Shouldn't be hard. Might be fun!

I think it's when you hire someone from the military to do them for you.

They should have an at home Biggest Loser scale. After you get on it, it starts playing dramatic music, then just as your number comes up it goes to a commercial break!

Hello Ladies! Thanks for letting me come back. I need to. My weight on Monday this week was 170 lbs. So, I've gained a few since I've been gone. Congratulations to you all for your hard work and dedication.

I like the pushup challenge. I just did them, so I can hardly type right now. :ohwell: I did 35 military pushups, so my goal this week will be to get to 42 by Monday. Good luck everyone.

Normal push up are hands approx shoulder length apart, up on your toes. Breathe in on the way down. Breathe out on the way back up. Fingers straight ahead.

Harder ones are hands further away, and hands closer to your body. fingers facing each other.

When I first started, being a guy I was ashamed that I couldn't do very many pushups. Heavier upper body mixed with weaker chest/arms.
I couldn't do many "man" pushups, so I resorted to doing pushups on knees.

TRUST ME, they are not easy as you might think. They still give a good workout.
Ladies if you can't do a full pushup on your toes.. Get on your knees and do pushups.
    Each day increasing.
At first I couldn't even do 20 pushups on knees.. Now I'm doing over 40 pushups on knees, and can do at least 25 pushups on toes. Takes time.

So my addition to the challenge. Do as many "military/normal" pushups" and even if that's 1 or 2. Attempt to finish to 10 with pushups on knees

 :drinker: I think that would inspire me to step on the scale a lot less, LOL

I'm aiming for a pound this week. Since starting my freelance job my time has been so packed with stuff to do that I've taken convenient routes for food and lost out on exercise. Thankfully this week I have been trying to eat smarter and got in two days of working out so far. One more chance before weigh-in on Saturday! My sleep schedule has also been whacky ... going to bed around midnight and getting up at 6 is just not a happy place for me, lol.

Hope all did well today. I am heading for bed. Another long day - work, and then a Walmart trip (an event when you don't have one in your town), and a band rehearsal. Hope everyone has a happy Friday tomorrow!

Alright everyone I have missed all of you so much but haven't gotten the nerve to come on because I have not been exercising or eating like I'm suppose too due to the wisdom teeth thing however this weekend we are going food shopping and we are going to be buying nothing but healthy food. I'm going to start everything on Monday and I would start tomorrow however, we have a birthday party on sunday and I know I can't resist that damn cake. I plan on starting to walk and run again till it gets too cold here in Minnesota for me to do anything. I would like to get a treadmill at somepoint but i know what my hubby is going to say to that so maybe it will just show up he he he. I have lost 50lbs with 23more to go. I know I can do this. I just went through the recipe section on here and made a book full so I have something healthy to refer to. A lot of crock pot things which is nice because I have always been a last min cooker and then can't find anything to cook.

You guys have been doing great and keep up the wonderful work.

Talk to you guys on Monday and I WILL be checking in everyday to motivate myself a little bit more. :drinker:

Well I started the pushup challenge with 6 guy push ups this morning. It's been a LONG time. I think I can do more but need to work on breathing. I felt like I was holding my breath the whole time.

I'll give it another shot tomorrow AM.

    Oh and welcome back j_g4ever!

I did 45minutes on the eliptical last night ( my first workout in a week) but forgot about the push up challange so I will start tonight after the movie.

4 push ups but I really don't think I am going low enough - I'll keep trying! Busy day getting ready for company over this weekend and Komen Race for the Cure tomorrow morning so everything for company has to be done today before I leave for the race....so much to do so little time!

On Biggest Loser this week the Trainer Tip for push ups was to start against the wall, then off a lower object, eventually getting to the floor. If push ups are difficult for some, that could be a good way to start. :flowerforyou:

Taradise, I used to hold my breath doing pushups too.
I also was breathing at the wrong times.

Do them slow, concentrate on breathing. Inhale on the way down. Exhale as you push yourself back up. (try for 1.5-2 sec pushup).

Shutterbug, correct. i've done pushups off the wall, against stairs, couch/sofa top. Don't always have to do a pushup on the ground, depending on where you are.
Further away from the wall the harder they are.

Chrissy, they are hard to go low at first. To be proper, most say your chest has to almost touch the ground. Low comes with time.

If you can only do between 1-5 normal pushups, My suggestion, try pushups on knees(try for 8,10,15)
If you can't do pushups on knees, then use the wall or back of a couch.

Well I've talked about them long enough, time for me to go do them. P90x chest and back today.

Thanks for the tips tttthumper... I'll give it another shot.

But I'll tell ya, those 6 I did this morning already have my back, shoulders and sides aching. I need to do pushups more often!!

They say pushups work alot of muscles. Back shoulders.. Stomach/sides/abs, glutes.

Well I'm toast, Just finished chest and back burned 750 calories.
Completed 81 pushups plus 57 pushups on knees for part of the hour workout.
