Yea everyone, don't forget to weighin in the morning!! I won't get the new thread up until later tomorrow or Thursday because I am going on a field trip with my daughters class. It should be fun. Hopefully I won't get overwhelmed with keeping track of all the young ones. I'll keep moving though so that should be good. I wish light thoughts to all of you!

I have been so busy, I almost didn't take time to read posts today (already skipped yesterday). And then I see that my friend Smadag is discouraged. I know you're at a snag right now, and I know how hard you have worked for a long time. Please don't give up! I always tell people, it says in the Bible, "and it came to pass," but never once does it say, "and it came to stay!" You will get through this! I have been a little discouraged at times in the last couple of months due to my health and not being able to exercise like I am used to, but with determination and countless repetition of the boring seems like I'm doing nothing physical therapy exercises, my hip is finally back to normal. I actually have been able to go on walks this week, when the weather has allowed. However, I am not back to swimming yet, as my asthma is so flared up that the dr. put me back on breathing treatments today. BUT - I know that it will pass, and if I keep up my diligence on my diet, I will start losing again. (However, weeks like this on steroids making me gain are discouraging.)
Anyway, I have rambled too long about myself. Smadag, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again! And listen to the great advice here about working out when it's cold - I just got an exercise video from Netflix today that I'm going to try.
Blessings to all, and here's to smart choices! Good night!

    Hello All!

Happy weigh in day. I hope it is happy for you!

Last night I did workout 1 of the 30 day shred DVD. I was very happy with it. Really got my heart rate up in such a short period of time. And I really liked Jillian as the instructor... she just seems different than other workout DVD's I've done. Even thru a DVD she doesn't take crap! Anyway, I go to the gym regularly but will use the DVD for a quick workout at home.

pshook, I am totally amazed with your 36 pushups. I am happy if I can get 12. Good for you. Keep it up!!

Been thinking of Smadag :flowerforyou: ... I hope you don't give up. It's ok to get discouraged from time to time, but the important part is to pick yourself back up and conquer!!! We are here for you!!

    Good mornin all

I have decided not to weigh myself for a couple of weeks, just to see how that works. I am thinking about getting Tae Bo so I can switch up my dvd collection because the only one I have that I enjoy is the 30 dat shred. I am also thinking about doing my workout in the morning but I am so NOT a morning person :grumble: my alarm goes off 15 minutes before I actually get out of bed. But my nights can be so up in the air as to what is going on I need to find time to get a workout in.

I love all the support and pep talks I got from you guys yesterday :flowerforyou:

Been a crazy week - haven't done the push ups - but I did do 45 minutes on the elliptical yesterday. Tonight is a "easy run" 3miles (my training schedule calls it the easy run  ) I am in week 3 of half marathon training - I did change to a 16 week program instead of 12 since winter will be tough to get thru....I hope to run outside at least 1 run per week....I'd rather do all outside but with the weather I am trying to be realistic!

smadag - I don't have enough discipline to hold back from weighing - I think that's a great idea for you. I have done Tae Bo and I really like it - maybe I need to buy the new version (mine was recorded on a VHS from someone elses - terrible quality) for a winter Cross training workout. I've been getting up on Thursday's to do my strength class or I would miss it - 5:15am comes so early but I really do feel good all day after.

pshook - you are an animal! You inspired me - I did 5!!!!! Whew - as far as I've come, I stuggle with push ups!

mary - it's great to see you still moving forward with your asthma trying to hold you back.

taradise-I really like the 30 day shred - it's a stand by for me on days when time seems so short.

debnu-hope your field trip is fun tomorrow.

Honestly - I bet they are all good! Best Buy and Target both have them pretty reasonably priced.....when I bought BL DVDs Best Buy was actually cheaper....I only bought from Target when they were out.

    Morning all.
Finally, the scale has moved for me in a good way. :drinker:

I can now say I lost over 30 lbs to people instead of "I've lost close to 30 lbs"

Went to a baby shower (guys and gals from my pool league) and a few people haven't seen me for a few months. I got some compliments, and then when I say.. I lost xx, and I still got xx to go. One person. "Make sure you don't lose too much"
I know the person just wanted to make sure I"m healthy. But I know there's spots that...... ok another 5 lbs there.... another 5 lbs there.. I still have more to go.

2.5 more lbs and I'll be out of the obese category.. woo hooo

Congrats Blues!! Looks like everyone is doing very well at losing this week., really staying motivated & supporting one another! I love it!!

Today was my step & tone class - 396 calories burned! It's great to be back to using two risers again. It really makes a difference on the intensity & calorie burn!
I just finished my pushups - 15 on my toes & 15 on my knees!

I didn't lose anything this week & decided to reset my goals. I was set to only lose 1/2 pound a week & I guess with my misbehaving during the weekend, I wasn't getting enough of a deficit. So, I adjusted up to lose 1 pound a week. Hopefully that will make a difference & I can get down to where I wanna be.

I got my Tae Bo from Ebay - it's Ultimate Tae Bo & it is AWESOME!! I didn't spend over $10 for it between it & the shipping.
If you just want to test drive some videos - try your local library!!

Make it a great day everyone!!

So I'm pretty sure that I told my husband that I was going to start counting calories last week that I was going to start this week. He didn't remember. He came to me this morning and asked if he could bring me out to lunch. I said no. Not long after that he brought me a reeses peanut butter. :explode: I wanted to kill him seriously. So we talked and he wants to loose weight also. I understand he doesn't want to workout after work because he works for 12 hours on his feet. So we have decided to get up an hour before he leaves for work and workout together. He said he hates it because he has to go to bed earlier because now he has to get up earlier now. 4am instead of 5am. I understand. He wants to spend time with me I get that. I'm a night person so I stay up late till about midnight and get up later. I get more done at night then I ever could during the day. I don't know what to do. Could you guys give me some hints or suggestions.

    thanks for listening

I hope you all did better than I did this week. I'm really struggling with getting back on track. I know a big part is because I haven't been logging my food. And some days I just completely go crazy eating everything I can find. The worst part is, I don't know why. That has only started recently....since I've been back to work I guess. I have to do this. I don't want to end up back where I was.

Thumper--thanks for the suggestion. I will try that next time.

    Happy Thursday everyone!!

pshook - I do think logging food really helps one stay on track. It helps me plan out my day too so at the end of the day I have no surprises. Good luck!!

sanifrey - nice job with the step/tone class. I took a cycling class last night. Great way to get sweating! I'm eager to see how your change in goals will change your weight loss.

tttthumper - BIG CONGRATS! You are now at 30+ lbs down. Great job! Don't worry about what people say, you know what a healthy weight is for yourself.

Last night I ended up eating dinner before I went to the gym for a cycling class. I don't normally eat such a big meal before working out, but it went well. I was worried I'd get sick but I was fine. And I liked that I wasn't starving after the workout. Does anyone else eat dinner or a bigger meal before a workout?

Way to go ttthumper - 32 pounds is awesome. I hear all the time - you're not going to lose anymore are you....seems just can't make people happy....as long as I am happy - WHO CARES!

san-you rock girl! I haven't tried a step class - since I'm working on the half marathon program, my extra days have been limited.

Taradise - I can't eat a big meal or I feel BLUCK during a workout - I have to have at least 1/2 hour - 1 hour before.

pshook-I can't trust myself I have to log my food! I do better now but I still log it - even when it's not a good day.....

    Off to make some breakfast....

Guess what - down another pound....I looked back and it seems the 3rd week in each month for the past 6 m is when I've lost during the month - must be related to my cycle...pretty funny....I'll take it! Only 6 pounds to goal....

Just got home from taking a screaming child to school. For some reason she just doesn't want to go anymore, because it is boring, it is long and she misses her family. The teacher is going to talk to her today. I had thought that my daughter would snap out of it, but it is only getting worse, today the teacher actually had to drag her into the classroom.:brokenheart:

I am glad everyone did well this week, I need to jump on the bandwagon again. I have lost all focus and self control and am not losing because of it. :noway: Time to stop buying treats--oh and Halloween is coming. :grumble:

I am going to get the new list out today---so if you have not sent your weight yet, let me know soon!

How old??? My son cried for almost the entire length of kindergarten - it was so hard! But he did outgrow it and it was much better.

How old??? My son cried for almost the entire length of kindergarten - it was so hard! But he did outgrow it and it was much better.

She is almost seven and this is 1st grade. Kindergarten was great! She loved going and had a lot of fun. It was afternoon though, we have never been morning people so I think getting up early is part of the problem. She just hasn't been as happy ever since school started and it has been escalating this last week after we were sick and I kept her home for three days.
I hope she grows out of it and soon. This is almost more painful for me... I worry though that if we move it will be worse--especially since she won't know anyone at the school. We know quite a few people right now because they live in our neighborhood.

Anyway, it is drama in our house right now.
