Pizza and pasta. They always made me ill but I used to think the yumminess was worth it.

Same deal with anything containing a significant amount of cream.

I have arthritis and discovered eliminating nightshade family plants (which are inflammatory) helped flare ups. But I miss tomatos, bell peppers and potatoes...especially since I love New Orleans cooking.

I haven't given up anything. I eat a lot differently than I used to but I don't swear off certain foods.

Drinks such as lemonade, bottled iced teas, and coffee. I just drink green tea at home and water at restaurants. I would cut other things out like chips but I don't have control over the groceries so if it's in the house, I end up eating a small amount of it.

None! I still eat all the same foods I love. I just changed the way I eat them. It worked for me.

Ice Cream. I know it's my trigger food. I have never been able to control how much of it I eat, so I don't anymore. I stopped eating it just before my bariatric surgery last July, so over a year ago now. I don't miss it and do not want to add it back into my food plan. It's just no longer important to me.

Regular soda. That's it... everything else I allow myself to enjoy, just in smaller quantities and less often.

Donuts, Kolaches, fried chicken, white flour anything and white rice. Artificial sweeteners except on the RARE occasion. Fried anything.

What do I miss? Donuts, Kolaches, . . . ha ha just kidding. The only thing I really miss and I'm working on doing it healthy: coconut shrimp and jasmine rice.

Basically, simple carbs. Everytime I eat white bread, potatos, rice, sugar, anything made from white flour, I'll gain anywhere from 1 to 2 pounds the next day. So, I kind of gave them up. I will only eat them maybe twice a week, and in much smaller servings.

I've found that I don't crave them anymore, so it isn't that hard.

I wouldn't say that I have given anything up, but there are a few things that once I stopped eating them, I haven't had the urge to want to eat them

    Pop-tarts
    pop (soda)
    most fast food
any prepackaged meals are gone, raviolis & spagetteos,
    overly sugared cereals
cookies & other sugary snacks (I still go nuts at christmas & snag the occasional donut at work)
    Hot dogs

    diet soda - caused migraines.

That's it. Everything else I'm learning to eat in moderation or as an occasional treat.

I have given up Coke (a-Cola), cookies, and desserts.
I really havent given up my loves like pizza, wings and lasagna, although I've cut back to very small portions and very rare occurrences.
    So far so good !

Wouldn't say completely, but am not touching the following for at least a year and it's been 5 months so far...

    beef
    pasta
    rice
    bread

To be fair, I'm a vertical sleeve gastrectomy patient so these foods are a no-no for at least a year...but it hasn't been bad really, I don't miss them...

    cereal
    cookies
    baked goods
    white flour

The white flour thing is going to be permanent. The cereal may evolve to a high protein low carb choice when I reach goal. the baked goods and cookies, will be homemade healthy alternatives once i reach goal.

    soda
    gold fish (nummm)
