    I was 25 when I got my first cell phone, in 2003. I held out as long as I could...now I don't know how I lived without one!

    I got one when I was 16 and started going on fishing trip hauling our boat solo. 31 now.

    I had one remarkably similar to the first phone in the pic. It was technically my dad's phone but I drove a rather unreliable van so carried that when I went out. I think I was 17; 30 now.

    I got one as a graduation present when I was 18. I'm 29 now. It was a pretty rad Nokia with a b&w screen and no texting ability.

    First cell - upon heading off to college. My rent's wouldn't buy me one because they didn't see the need. Actually the swim team I swam and coached for, those parent's bought me one as a going away gift.

    Was 16 bought it myself. Blackberry. i said if i wanted a phone it would have to be nice not juszt any cheap phone.. mother would always say if you want something you work for it.. :) now im 18

    Got my first one around 27, I'm now 39. We didn't have cell phones when I was a teenager. lol

    I was about 17 when my mom had a car phone installed in her Thunderbird. It had a cord and a huge component under the passenger seat. It was rockin'!

    I'm now 39.

    We was all fancy and stuff. ;)

    *My first mobile phone I was probably 21.

    I had a pay as you go phone in my mid 20s. I bought a house before I had a cell phone. But then again... I bought a house before I bought a car, too. I drove my dad's old van when I got my house.

    I got my first one at 18 when I moved away for college (I'm 29 now). My parents paid for it while I was in school.

    Somewhere b/t 15-17. When I started riding with a friend to school my parents gave me one. Although it was nothing like today's teens...it was a pay by the minute plan and it was very clear that it was for emergencies and so I could reach them/they could reach me. Not too big of an issue since I've always hated talking on the phone.

    I'm 33 now.

    17 & 27...and that was only because I was in the Navy and could pay for it myself. Times have certainly changed though

    I was 18 -- It was great you could run over that thing with a truck and it would still work :) I paid for it - my mother refused to get me one

    I was 26, it was a Trac fone that had really bad reception in CT. If I wanted to use it I had to run to the top of the hill we lived near, then I might have enough reception to make a call.

    I'm 38 now. :)

    I was about 13, and the only reason I got it was so my mom could call me when she was ready to pick me up from girl scouts. It was a basic pre-paid phone, and my mom only bought minutes for it once a month. If I used more than what I got, I had to earn some money by doing chores and get more.

    I'm 20 now and able to pay for my own phone. The one I currently have is still just as craptastic as the first one I owned.

    I was 17 when I got my first cell phone, or I could say electronic leash so my parents knew where I was. When I was 18, I got my own pager in college. I thought I was oh so cool for that one lol. I think I'm showing my age now...
