Oh man I have the same problem with my co-workers its rediculous :explode: Everyday! do we have to go over this again...They also like to tell me how gross it is to eat what I'm eating. "Dont you want something good'? "How can you eat like that"? " You really woke up at 4am to workout - whats wrong with you"?
The other day I told one of them who is constantly giving me crap - while always complaing about her weight (she weights more than me) she thought it was funny waiving a bag of doritos in my face lol'ing bet you wish you could eat this hahaha...(I dont even like doritos):sick: I said "just wait til I hit my goal weight and your still the same we'll see how those doritos taste then, bet they leave a bad taste in your mouth" She shut up and went back to her desk. :bigsmile:

Finding balanced nutrition doesn't mean buying a program you saw advertised on late night television. Im trying my hand at alchemy. Basing my carb intake on moon phases so I can convert fat to muscle. Its OK to be jealous. :glasses:

That is what I get at work too. The best one is... YOUR EATING THAT MANY CARBS! AHHH or... your gonna eat that twix bar?? You are not going to loose any weight doing that! And it is so unhealthy! AHHH! Usually said by a VERY overweight person.
Oh and I like my ice cream too and I am keeping it. So many people are "healthy eaters" and over weight. Hah... this is funny to me. Imagine that... no fad just a deficit!
Ugh, I get this all the time! I work in a fast food place, and the majority of the time I will bring my own food, have a salad there, or get something from a nearby food place that's healthier. Anyways, now and again I will eat from there or have an ice cream with my salad... and straight away I get 'OMG THOUGHT YOU WERE ON A DIET? YOU'RE GUNNA PILE THE WEIGHT BACK ON' :noway:
Actually, yesterday someone at work who thinks he knows everything about nutrition spoke to me when he saw me eating and said "oh, you eating more now?" and I was like "um, yeah actually!" and his response was "ah, not sticking to your diet then!". When I explained that actually, you don't have to be on low calories all your life to be slim, he was like "that's impossible. you can't eat more and lose weight"
I'm waiting until I lose a good bit more, go down a second shirt size at work, and wait to see what he says! I'll print off a weeks worth of my calorie intake report and get him to eat it! :laugh:0 -

I have to say I'm following a fad diet because my definition of "eating right" no longer matches up with what the majority of people think of as healthy. Put butter on your vegetables, fry you eggs in bacon fat or use zucchini to make your lasagna instead of noodles and people think you're eating that way as a lose-weight-quick diet instead of for the health benefits. I absolutely agree with the sentiment behind your post though -- thanks for sharing.0

I lost weight on weight watchers but I've recently stopped.. there's something wrong when a diet is basically telling you to eat a bag of chips over an avocado. Now I'm counting calories to stay at about 1300 + excercise cals and trying to fill myself up on fruits and veg first.0

A recent experience with a co-worker made me chuckle and I thought I would share.
My office has lunch catered in 2-3 times per month for various events (from mostly unhealthy restaurants). For the last 7 weeks I've prepared and brought my own lunch everyday, regardless of whatever the rest of the office would eat. It didn't take long for people to notice that while they were gorging on BBQ, I was eating chicken, broccoli and rice from a tupperware. Naturally, I had to answer questions like "why aren't you eating the free meal.. blah blah blah" -- Yesterday a co-worker asked what kind of diet I was on:
"Are you doing Atkins? South Beach? [A few other diets I'd never heard of]???"
"Nope.." I simply explained that I educated myself on proper nutrition and created a diet that suited both my tastes and lifestyle.
*45 second pause/silence/blank stare*
"So you came up with it on your own?? How much weight have you lost??"
"Over 25 pounds and the best part is that I eat ice cream almost everyday."

This! My manager always brings mcdonalds and eats it in front of me and tries offering it to me saying how good it is. I was around the same size as him and now I'm 60 pounds smaller than him. I always respond 'no thanks, I like being way skinnier than you.' that shuts him up.0 -

I like this one:
Breakfast: 3 ounces non-fat yogurt
Lunch: skim milk over 4 strawberries
Dinner: 5 almonds, 6 baby spinach leaves, 1/4 of a banana
Snack: I indulged and had one more strawberry
I've lost 200 lbs eating this way! See me at 300 lbs lost!

I got my first "hatin" comment from a co-worker last week. The lady saw me eating my steamed vegetables and said " How much do you want to loose TO BE HAPPY?" :grumble:
I said "I AM happy already. I'm eating better to control my health"
Then she said "Pretty soon you are going to start looking like vegetables, and fruit, and fish... [laugh laugh laugh] "
I kept quiet in the mouth but thought to myself that she must be jealous.... because she carries a butt and thighs the size of a semi truck :noway:
I know I will get more of those type of comments as I progress.
Some people just hate seeing others do better at anything :indifferent:0 -
Fad Diets usually last for a very short time. They leave you wanting something not on the diet and when you blow it you end up demoralized.
I just tell people that I have a 5 year plan. Eat healthy, keep within my macros, and exercise. What i don't tell people is that its a 5 year renewable plan for the rest of my life.0 -
I considered a few "magic pills" but after seeing "Take with balanced diet and exercise" on the label, I figured they were a rip-off. If I could do diet and exercise, why would I need your pill?
Then when "weird food" fads came around I just knew I would never stick to it. Or, if I miraculously did, then what? I cannot eat only grapefruit for the rest of my life!0 -
I receive a lot of negative comments from my co-workers because my lunch will consist of "healthy crap" as they like to call it. They give my grief for snacking on fruits, veggies or nuts throughout the day. I don't see anything wrong with eating clean, healthy food and not regret my meal afterwards. I have Gi problems so the better I eat, the less upset I feel.0

I get the same thing all the time.....the look on people's faces when I tell them I eat less, move more and lift heavy amazes me! AND to top it off....some will still try to tell me about what ever crap fad HCG diet they want to try. Come on people.....it ain't rocket science!0

This is so great - thanks for putting so perfectly what some of us are aiming for!
PS - I eat ice cream just about every night, my concession (due to diabeties) is it's low sugar, if I didn't have a health concern I'd eat the full blown stuff - gotta have it, just love it!!0
