lleecc- Welcome you joined this thread just by posting. You have a great group of people to lean on and support.

Kelley- Hope your family is able to join you and that they keep the germs to themselves.

Karen- Regretfully, my brother was not able to join us since his in-laws were in town and it hard to move his MIL across the yard as well. I was able to invite a friend to dinner so it worked out great. My friend entertained my dad and made him happy today. How was your 8K today?

Kaye- Lemon pie sounds fantastic and I hope you got to bed early last night and tonight.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Today's my Turkey Trot went very well and I set a personal best. I ran the 3.3 miles in 38.06 minutes with a sprint at the end. It was a slightly hilly course but not horrendous. It seemed a little more unorganized this year but it was still fun. After dinner, my friend and I took a walk around the neighborhood with plans to stop at a bar. However, all the bars were closed tonight. I was pleasantly surprised with this but at least I had a great walk in the dark after dinner.

    Laurie, thanks for the welcome!
In reading the prior posts, it seems y'all have monthly challenges. Is there a December challenge yet?

Today was so much fun, and the food was all great. The scale is up, I am exhausted and my knee hurts. I'm frustrated that the weather is beautiful and I can't go for a walk. I think I need a couple of days off and a fresh perspective. One of my little grandsons pulled the needles out of my knitting project. As soon as I figure out where I'm at with it, I will get on the pedaled and do some knitting. I'm glad the bulk of the dinner mess is at Cathy's house.
Hope you all had a great day.
    Onward and downward. Kaye

Ileeccwelcome! and Happy Turkey Day to you - and your not the only Texan in our group! I'm sure they'll announce themselves soon! You'll get plenty of support here. On Sundays we usually give a brief profile about ourselves. You've joined us just by posting!
Kah - Kelley I'm sorry your Holiday got spoiled - enjoy the online shopping and your wine!
Laurie Glad you had a good race today! Sorry your brother couldn't bring everyone over to join you but sounds like you had a nice dinner and nite out with your friend! You have a great attittude!

AFM: I thought INTERSTELLER was a bit boring, overlong, but still interesting food for thought. Now I am resisting looking at these great sales ads all around me.

Nebr. Furn. Mart is offering 2 years 0%, OMG tempting, and I want to up my tv reception quality with a blue ray, sound bar, and Sonos speaker, and digital rabbit ears, so I can give up cable, but do I know what I am doing? Noooo......need to do more homework!!! Need to just go to bed and walk away,,,,,walk away.....walk away!!!!

@robin--I've been wondering how the google chromecast is working for you. Did you see Interstellar on IMAX? My students highly recommended that format. I rarely go to the movies, so will probably wait until it comes OnDemand.

@kaye--glad you enjoyed you holiday. Ice that knee--or at least elevate it so it doesn't swell up on you.

@lleecc--welcome! We are repeating the November challenge in December.

@laurie--great time on your 5k+! Glad you had a nice dinner as well. I did my 8k in 56:49, so I made my goal. I wasn't sure I would make it b/c my stomach wasn't feeling great--I think I ate too close to running--so I took a lot of 30-second walking breaks, but I pushed myself during the running portion to just make it under 57 minutes.

@kelley--I hope your thanksgiving worked out. I don't blame you if you bowed out--it sounds like they have norovirus which is just nasty.

    Thursday Truth:
I ate way too much, but it was all delicious! The good news is that the only leftovers I brought home were some sweet potatoes and one serving of corn pudding. My mom tried to convince me that I should take home some pecan pie, but that would've been a BAD idea (I would probably be eating it right now!).

Tomorrow will be a lot of grading. Not sure if I'll go to the gym--we'll see how my legs are feeling.

    November All-In:
Under calorie goal: 22/27 days (goal is 27/30 days)
Workout: 7/27 (goal is as much as possible)

    Good Morning.

I received an invite from close friends for dinner (they went to Black Eyed Pea) but ended up braving my parents house yesterday, everyone sounded so disappointed when they found out I didn't want to go because of the walking petri dishes. My nephew kept telling my mom that he wasn't sick and that I needed to go--I hate disappointing him. So, I went and had a great time (even though the Cowboy's lost :rage:). I did come home though, going to get some things done (maybe do some shopping) and spend tomorrow with them (they leave Sunday).

@Laurie~Hooray for a personal best during your 5k!

@Karen~Great job with your 8k as well. I didn't bring home leftovers either--the pecan pie was delish as always but a danger in my house for leftovers. I'm not going to lie, if it was here it would have been b'fast this morning! :flushed:

@kelley--Glad you had a nice time with the family. Sorry about your Cowboys--the Bears also had another ugly loss. I've pretty much given up on them this season. Will just watch hockey from now on. :(

AFM--DH and I stayed up too late last night and I ended up sleeping in until almost 9. Now I'm out grading at starbucks. I finished the revisions and will work on some SL vocab for a awhile. My brain needs a break from essays.

Been MIA again...freaking holidays and being busy do it to me all the time. I will not let it affect the scale this year! In addition to joining the Y challenge, I joined my cousin's fb group she just started. She's a beach body person. It's 12 Days to Healthy Holidays...or something like that. The point is that we get a new exercise to do each day (in addition to whatever exercise we currently do), we need to drink all our water each day and we need to eat one salad each day. And it's just for 12/1-12/12, but I think I will try to keep it up through the end of the year. So, I may make my December challenge a little different than November's All-in.

I hate to bring the subject up again....but...I'm working in a different building than I normally do today, in a different city and everything. And....they have mice! Aaaaack! I haven't seen or heard any, but there is an actual mouse trap near my feet at my desk. Blach! Eek! Barf! Apparently, there were mouse droppings last week, and since they set up traps, they've caught two. Ewww. The exterminator thinks it's because there is a lot of construction nearby and their usual home was disturbed and they were looking for a warm home for the winter. Sorry, not here, Mice! I'm encouraged by the fact that noone has spotted anymore mouse droppings.

My Thanksgiving was wonderful. Thursday I participated in a Turkey Trot. I thought I may be regretting signing up for the 8K, especially since my training has been beyond minimal lately and it was only 17 degrees outside with lots of ice and snow in the days leading up to the event. Well, it was better than I thought. I finished before they closed down the course (I'm a back-of-the-pack runner...it doesn't help me when there are low turn-outs like there was yesterday. Much fewer back-of-the-packers!), got myself a little pumpkin pie, and the roads were in excellent condition for the weather. The city did a great job clearing and salting. And the cherry on top....I burned so many calories, I had plenty of room for the feast at my in-laws!

I have Thanksgiving Part II at my parents' house on Saturday. I plan to make the same dish that I brought to my in-law's: a fruit platter arranged to look like a turkey! If I get a chance, I'll have to post the pic on here later. It turned out pretty cute for something that I threw together last minute.

Teresa- I'm praying for your daughter. I hope the miracle arrives and she seeks help.

Laurie- Praying for your dad, too. I hope he heals and the railing gets put up so the stairs are easier to navigate!

    Hi guys!

@amanda--congrats on your 8k! You are much braver than I am--I did mine inside a a cozy gym on a treadmill. I was also happy with the calorie burn--not enough to make up for everything I ate, but I'm sure burning that extra 680 at least helped.

AFM--just checking in. I'm done grading for today--finished my SL vocab. Tomorrow I will finish the Montana 1948 essays, and then I can devote Sunday to getting started on the AP essays.

    Good evening everyone.

hansea47- That fruit turkey looks awesome!

    My sister-in-law made this:

    gvi4mgsignj0.jpg

    Happy Black Friday (shopping)
Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States (the fourth Thursday of November), often regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. In recent years, most major retailers have opened very early and offered promotional sales to kick off the holiday shopping season, similar to Boxing Day sales in many Commonwealth nations. Black Friday is not a holiday, but California and some other states observe "The Day After Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holiday such as Columbus Day.[1] Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the day after off, followed by a weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers. It has routinely been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005,[2] although news reports, which at that time were inaccurate,[3] have described it as the busiest shopping day of the year for a much longer period of time.[4]
In 2013, approximately 141 million U.S. consumers shopped during Black Friday, spending a total of $57.4 billion, with online sales reaching $1.2 billion.[5]
The day's name originated in Philadelphia, PA, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic that would occur on the day after Thanksgiving.[6][7] Use of the term started before 1961 and began to see broader use outside Philadelphia around 1975. Later an alternative explanation was made: that retailers traditionally operated at a financial loss ("in the red") from January through November, and "Black Friday" indicates the point at which retailers begin to turn a profit, or "in the black".[6][8]
For many years, it was common for retailers to open at 6:00 a.m., but in the late 2000s many had crept to 5:00 or even 4:00. This was taken to a new extreme in 2011, when several retailers (including Target, Kohl's, Macy's, Best Buy, and Bealls[9]) opened at midnight for the first time.[10] In 2012, Walmart and several other retailers announced that they would open most of their stores at 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day (except in states where opening on Thanksgiving is prohibited due to blue laws, such as Massachusetts where they still opened around midnight),[11] prompting calls for a walkout among some workers.[12] There have been reports of violence occurring between shoppers on Black Friday.
It is common for prospective shoppers to camp out over the Thanksgiving holiday in an effort to secure a place in front of the line and thus a better chance at getting desired items; because this poses a significant safety risk (such as the use of propane and generators in the most elaborate cases, and in general, the blocking of emergency access and fire lanes) at least one city has banned this practice.

Happy Leftovers Day! Hubby's fav food day of the year. Sadly, we don't have as many as in the past because we ate out, but I did a turkey breast in the crockpot and made a pumpkin streusel pie. He's in tryptophan heaven!

Thoroughly enjoyed my "free day" yesterday and didn't even bother trying to log it all. Today I'm back on track, there's only 1 piece of pie left with daughter's name on it, and the turkey is earmarked for sandwiches.

Thanksgiving went as planned, but while the football addicts were having their hearts broken by the Cowboys AND University of TX, I went to the movies. Instead of Interstellar, we opted at the last minute to see the Theory of Everything about Steven Hawking. It was excellent and if I hadn't forgotten to wear my hearing aid, would have been even better. :s
Amazing how he's survived ALS for more than 50 years!

Friday Fitness: Managed to get in my cardio yesterday and today. My 10,000 steps are getting more difficult because my foot is seriously paining me. Feels like something is broken. Guess I'm going to the Dr. and I'm sure he'll nag me about surgery again. Whine. I hate the thought.

Laurie: Sorry about your dad's foot. Is he diabetic as well? Infections/wounds are so dangerous for diabetics especially when compromised by other health issues. Your dad is lucky you and your mom are on top of things. Oh yes, congrats on your Turkey Trot results. I'm envious (but in a good way) :) .

Hansea: Your "turkey" is adorable. I'm going to copy it for next year. And congrats on your Turkey Trot too. 17 degrees out? Bet your toes were freezing!

Karen: Teaching is really a calling for you, isn't it? I am amazed and impressed by your diligence and dedication. Your students are doubly blessed. Teachers are a very special breed indeed! I don't think I appreciated mine or my children's teachers enough. Woot! for your 8K results!!

Buckling down and moving forward. Christmas is coming, the most dangerous food time of year. One good thing--moved down a size in slacks yesterday even though I'm stalled at the scale. "Shopped" the bins in the garage and unless purple and red are in, I'm going to have to get a couple of pairs of jeans to see me through the end of the year, dang it!

Tomorrow is Small Business Black Saturday. Remember the "little guys!"

@marsha--woot! woot! on the smaller pants size!! I also decided to skip even trying to log yesterday. I know I was way over, so no sense in logging what would be, at best, rough guesstimates. I hope you don't have to get surgery on your foot. I'm contemplating going to the doctor for my shoulder. The thing is, I can tell it's nothing very serious, and I probably just need some PT sessions. However, I don't have ANY time to go to said sessions. It's so frustrating that the day doesn't have more hours.

As far as teaching--yes, I truly love it. Although I've had other jobs I've enjoyed, I would never have sacrificed as much of my personal time for any of them. Lately, I admit that I've been struggling with how much time grading is taking--not b/c I have more of it, but b/c our district keeps monopolizing our prep time with other duties. They throw more and more on our plates with no consideration about how much time it will take. Then they expect us to continue to be quality teachers who assign rigorous work and provide meaningful feedback. My colleagues and I are trying very hard not to become angry and bitter about it, but it's rough. At least I have the consolation of amazing students.

@tom--I have never gone shopping on Black Friday and will die happy if I never do. I would rather spend a little more than fight those crowds.

@tom & hansea--love both of the turkey platters!

    Friday Fitness:
Getting ready for my 8k, I've been focused on running on the couple of days a week I've managed to get to the gym. My goal going forward is to continue with the longer runs of 4 miles at least once a week and then do another 8k right around Christmas. It will be fun to see if I make any progress with my time in the next month.

So glad I finished a couple of items on my grading list. I also entered a bunch of participation and discussion grades that I was behind on. I hope I can keep this momentum going for the weekend.

Tomorrow I have to get up early to drop gunner at the salon for his bath. Thinking maybe I will go grade for awhile then hit the gym. With the early start, I should have no problem fitting both in.

Hansea and Tom- Love the turkey made of fruit. I will need to borrow that idea for next year or maybe Christmas.

Hansea- Congrats on your 8K, especially in those cold temps. Mine was cold but in the 40's.

Karen- Congrats on your 8K as well. You did a great time. I hope you get at least one free day without grading. Sounds like the grading issue is something for your association to take up with the board. It is very annoying when the board keeps adding stuff to our plates instead of letting us plan or grade.

Kelley-Glad you were able to go to your parents house for dinner.

Kaye- Sorry about your knitting project and the needles being removed hope you can find where you left off quickly. Glad you had a great day yesterday and wishing you a speedy recovery with your knee.

Marsha- My dad is a diabetic as well and that makes healing time so much worse. The worst part is he can't feel his feet and that causes part of the problem. I hope your foot is nothing serious and that surgery is not required.

I had a very lazy day but at least I went rock climbing tonight and conquered some new walls. I did get a few errands done for my parents. Tomorrow, I will go swimming in the morning so must go to bed before I get hooked into another Star Trek episode. It is my guilty pleasure at times- I can never get to much these days. :)

Sounds like everyone did well on T'day. Congratulations for all the Turkey Trots and 8Ks.

@Hansea I have a photo of my son and his fiancé at nearly the same spot you were downtown after the Turkey Trot.

@Laurie I hope your dad is settling into home well and beginning to heal.

@Karen Like Marsha, I really admire your dedication. You really aren't getting a vacation, just a little time to catch up.

@Kaye Let that knee rest a bit while you get the knitting back in order. Lucky you, all my grandsons are too big too have been in the knitting....I miss the little ones that they were.

@ Kelley Glad you went to your folks.

@Tom NO Black Friday shopping for this lady. I did it once many years ago with an insistent sister of mine; never again.

@Robin I will be interested to hear how that new TV set up works if you succumb and get it.

AFM Like many I did not track calories on Thanksgiving. I honestly didn't do too badly, and I followed my plan for what I would eat, but even so probably went over a bit on calories, so will count it as over. All of the dangerous leftovers are gone to other homes or got eaten. What is left of the turkey will be sandwiches and then the wonderful turkey soup. I did not exercise, but does a 2 day cooking marathon count as something??? I hope so.
Now my husband (is that DH?) has ALL of the Christmas boxes on the dining room table so the tree can be put up yet this weekend.

    ]November Challenge
    7/29 below calories
7 exercise sessions; goal was 3x a week
Book work done only a tiny bit.

Welcome to anyone new who is on the thread. I haven't been watching too closely the last day or two so may have missed someone.

Saturday Success - I have not had a soda, diet or regular, in a month! After school dismissed, I would usually have a soda to perk me up for the afternoon but have switched to coffee with a splash of milk. My sweet tooth has decreased. Maybe because of the soda?

    Just a quick note--

After my "EAT IT ALL" Thanksgiving, I grit my teeth this a.m. and hopped on the scale. Guess what?! I LOST 1.9 pounds!!!! Really! Got on again and it said the same thing. Delusional? Hope not. The imp of dieting may be toying with me, but I'll take it. Praise be!

    Saying hi ...
@Marsha ... I'm still sticking to my goal of not weighing in until Monday morning. Just hope all the stress of not knowing doesn't put too much cortisole into my system so that my body holds onto carbs instead of using them for fuel. Come to think of it, I'm not feeling hungry and certainly should by now since it's been 15 hours since my last meal .... hmm, maybe I SHOULD jump on that scale after all!

    AFM ...
Surprise, Surprise, My Saturday Success story is that I actually ate what I wanted on Thanksgiving, and how much of it I wanted and still feel comfortable ... and logged my calories ... and came in at under calorie goal for that day. Wish I'd done that well on the 25th, when I gobbled up candy that somehow found it's way onto the conveyor at the supermarket and into my grocery bag. Must have been a gremlin that put it there, and of course Niki had to get rid of it real quick ... like in a day.

    November Challenge ...
    calories under goal 12/28
    attendance checkmarks 48.5%

NSV success story .... lots of kitchen KP accomplished, another new tasty fish dinner creation and half the laundry washed, folded, put away.

Hi guys! Just a quick check in for now.

    Saturday Success:
Got through the week with no damage--still hovering between 183-186. My main success is finishing that 8k within my goal time. This morning I got up early to drop gunner at the salon, then came home to put some laundry in and sweep up his fur while he was out from underfoot. Headed to starbucks and finished one class of M1984 essays before I had to go pick gunner up and bring him home.

Now I'm finishing laundry and heading to the gym. Afterward, I will need to grade some more-I want to finish those 29 essays today so I can start on AP essays tomorrow.

Will check back later tonight to update goals and do personals.

<3<3<3This is a very interesting post about Water and when to drink it - especially interesting about drinking it before bed - please read all of it - also includes advice on heart attacks too.

How many folks do you know who say they don't want to drink anything before going to bed because they'll have to get up during the night.

... I asked my Doctor why people need to urinate so much at night time. Answer from my Cardiac Doctor - Gravity holds water in the lower part of your body when you are upright (legs swell). When you lie down and the lower body (legs and etc) seeks level with the kidneys, it is then that the kidneys remove the water because it is easier. This then ties in with the last statement!

I knew you need your minimum water to help flush the toxins out of your body, but this was news to me.
Correct time to drink water... From A Cardiac Specialist!

Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body:

2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack
    - water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps. Your leg muscles are seeking hydration when they cramp and wake you up with a Charlie Horse.

Mayo Clinic Dr. Virend Somers, is a Cardiologist, is lead author of the report in the July 29, 2008 issue of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, which states:

Most heart attacks occur in the day, generally between 6 A.M. and noon. Having one during the night, when the heart should be most at rest, means that something unusual happened. Somers and his colleagues have been working for a decade to show that sleep apnea is to blame. They also studied the use of aspirin upon a person having a heart attack and concluded:
    1. If you take an aspirin or a baby aspirin once a day, take it at night.
The reason: Aspirin has a 24-hour "half-life"; therefore, if most heart attacks happen in the wee hours of the morning, the Aspirin would be strongest in your system.
    2. FYI, Aspirin lasts a really long time in your medicine chest, for years, (when it gets old, it smells like vinegar).
    Please read on...
Something that we can do to help ourselves - nice to know.

Why keep Aspirin by your bedside? It's about Heart Attacks.
There are other symptoms of a heart attack, besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating; however, these symptoms may also occur less frequently.

Note: There may be NO pain in the chest during a heart attack.
The majority of people (about 60%) who had a heart attack during their sleep did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep.
If that happens, immediately dissolve two aspirins in your mouth and swallow them with a bit of water.
Afterwards: - Call 911. -Only then, Phone a neighbor or a family member who lives very close by.- Say "heart attack!" - Say that you have taken 2 Aspirins.
Take a seat on a chair or sofa near the front door, and wait for their arrival and ...DO NOT LIE DOWN!

    Hope this helps someone! <3<3<3

@laurie--great job on the workouts this week! Yes, slowly, but surely chipping away at the mountain of grading.

@robin--thanks for all of the info!

@niki--awesome that you followed your plan for Thanksgiving!

    @marsha--yay!!

@laura--I used to be addicted to diet coke, but gave it up cold turkey for green iced tea a few years back. For a long time I only drank it as part of a cocktail and as an rare treat. Now I occasionally drink it if I run out of tea (husband still always has it in the house), and I notice on those days I'm hungrier and crave more carbs. Just knowing that helps me keep it in check b/c I can tell myself it's just the diet pop talking, rather than true hunger.

@barbara--I bet a 2-day cooking marathon burns a lot of calories! ANd yes, DH stands for "dear husband."

AFM--I had a really great run at the gym. I'm finding that a 10.5 minute/mile is *finally* starting to feel comfortable after over a year pacing an 11-minute mile. I think the longer distance runs are what is helping, so today I ran a full 5k as my "shorter" run. Finished in my fastest ever treadmill time of 32:40, so something is clicking.

I don't think I'll finish the M1948 essays tonight, but may get through a few more before I pack it in for the night. Fortunately, tomorrow one of my teacher friends also needs to grade, so we will make a day of it. It's a lot easier to stay out grading for hours when I have company to motivate me.

As I just updated my exercise goals, I realized that I have my first bargaining meeting for our teacher contract this Wed. The meeting will go pretty late (possibly 8:30), so I will need to get my AP papers done before that. I may actually skip my Tuesday meeting (it's about the new state tests and how we will administer them) b/c there are several other teachers from my department attending, and they will adequately represent my interests. That way I can use that time to finish grading the essays. Now that our bargaining is starting, it's going to be even harder to get to the gym.

    November All-In:
Under calorie goal: 24/29 days (goal is 27/30 days)
Workout: 8/29 (goal is as much as possible)
8k on Thanksgiving Day in 57 minutes DONE in 56:49!

    Grading Goals:
    1. 34/60 M1948 in-class essays
    2. x/66 AP essays
    3. 60/60 SL vocab analyses DONE!
    4. 15/15 paper revisions DONE!
    5. 3/66 AP Journals

    Exercise Goals:
    Sun--rest day
    Mon--walk gunner + gym
    Tues--rest day (meeting)
    Wed--rest day (meeting)
    Thurs--walk gunner + gym
    Fri--rest day
    Sat--walk gunner + gym

I don't recommend weight loss over 2 lbs per week unless you are under a doctor's care. But, For those who have lots of weight to lose, look at this interesting FACT. If you can lose JUST 2 per week, you will lose over 100 lbs. in one year! Let's break it down. One lb. per week is 1000 calories per day (which means that you still can have at least 1,200 calories per day). And every mile walked is 100 calories burned. Can't do a whole mile at once? How about a quarter mile, 4 times a day (morning, lunchtime, after work, after dinner). A quarter mile can be done in JUST 5 minutes. And as you lose weight, you gain strength and you can go further. Then you can climb stairs for even more intense calories burning!

Skinny I saw Interstellar on a regular screen. I've seen good shows on IMAX as well and don't see much diff. between IMAX and the big screens in the regular theater these days. To me its just the distance between you and the screen that counts. IMAX is usually too big for me to absorb all the imagery, in my opinion. You were brave to turn down pecan pie leftovers!!
I like the Google Chromecast - it works fine - you still have to subscribe to your premium sources like Netflix etc, but when I bought it, I got 2 mo. of Hulu Plus for free and 1 mo of Netflix for free, so I'm happy with that.
Your shoulder discomfort WOULD be helped with PT, so you should take care of yourself FIRST. Get to a session and learn the correct movements - do this now or you'll have to do more later. Isn't that what you'd tell a student? I HATE that you're getting dumped on more as you stated, I'm sure a lot of that is time-wasting needless stuff. But, you need to take care of your body, Karen....now...or you might injure yourself worse.
KAH-Kelley So how are you feeling now? any cold or flu symptoms? I hope not! Sorry your team lost! Glad you did spend time with your family!
Hansea - Amanda Ugh - travelling over the holidays and working in a mouser-infested building is NOT my cup of tea! My third house purchase got infested with mice one winter and the first we heard of it they were scratching in the walls at night - so creepy I couldn't sleep at all - must have bought 100 traps the next day! Caught about 11 and geez didn't take 'em out of the trap -who could? threw trap and all away. Next day tho, the traps were "empty" - hmm....so we had some Other kind of pest around .....
Glad you enjoyed a great race and your Pretty bird tray was well received!
G-Whammy, Marsha WOOT WOOT on the smaller pants size - and yes those colors I believe are definitely out! My skin is too bruisable for me to wear jeans - I envy you!
Sounds like you should cut back the steps to 8k until you see the Dr about that pain. Hope you don't need surgery....
Laurie Sorry to hear about your dad's foot problem is made worse by the fact he can't feel it and is diabetic. My stepmom has a similar issue. She has a small hole where a bunion was and the hole is quite deep. She's been on antibiotics too and we clean and dress it daily. It will take a very long time to heal, we've been told.
I'm a Trekkie too. Hard to step away sometimes, isn't it? I love Big Bang Theory just because they are Star Trek fans too on the show. Its my go-to TV for relaxing.
Thanks for posting the December Challenge so nicely too.
Ileecc-Laura Congrats on beating the soda habit - a whole month now - that is so good - you go girl! I'm impressed.
NK-Niki you are doing phenomenal! Very good job on Thanksgiving - I think you're the only one who can say that!

AFM - had a girlfriend spend the nite last nite - she's from the same town my stepmom lives in. - we didn't get to bed til 1:30 am. Lots of laughter - such nice weather had all the windows open. I had just bought an air-mattress so this was the first use -and it didn't deflate, thank goodness! I was up at 10 - but she slept in until 1:30 PM!!!!! I kept looking in at her to make sure she was breathing! Finally she popped out of bed and greeted the day only to announce great surprise at the hour it was. Said the bed was great! Now I have one for any one who wants to see the Big O. Come on over!

I have no success to report! Between the holiday food and my knee injury, I have really been derailed. I am determined to do better in December.
Robin, thanks for the interesting information.
I am in awe of those of you who have been able to see some success over the last week. Keep up the good work.
    Onward and downward. Kaye

Hello there all! Sunday NSV - Hmmm... I had deadly fear of stepping into a pool. Even a kiddie one... I don't swim and have fear of drowning . For the first time last week I stepped into the pool for Aqua Gym. Granted I was hanging on to the edge of the pool for about 80% of the session... I loved it :)
