stupid kiwi fruit argument!!

That is an interesting argument. I've done it both ways xD The skin isn't that big a deal, but the hairy part of it kinda is. I'd just say you're both sane and it's a potato pa-tato issue.0

I eat the skin. I love how it gives the kiwi a sweet and sour taste.0

Um, have you people never eaten a peach?! It's the same thing! Just scrub it well first. If you're not eating the skin, you're missing out on most of the health benefits of kiwi!0

The whole THING!0

I didn't realize that people ate the skin on a kiwi. I guess I'll have to give it a try. I mean I do eat the fuzzy skin of a peach. Or you could just eat the middle and leave him a pile of your kiwi skins since he likes them so much. Kind of like eating fried chicken or a cupcake when I was a kid. I'd just eat the crispy skin or lick all the frosting off...all I guess I needed was a buddy to eat the meat and the cake part of the cup cake. That would have been a great partnership.0

Just the inside, skin is gross.0

I use to eat just the fruit until my husband and I had the same argument. He has always eaten the skin. I did my research and found out that the skin actually has a ton of fiber and antioxidents that your body needs. Now I eat the whole thing and if you scrub it really good with a fruit brush most of the hair comes off. I found a website with a bit of information about the skin:

Enjoy!0 -
I cut in in half and eat out the insides with a spoon, leaving the skin.0
-
i used to only eat the middle.....
since being a student i now eat the skin too... means i dont need a knife to eat it + get more to eat
x0 -
I dont eat the skin, but my husband does. Its just preference, but yes, there are many nutrients and fiber in the skin, that is not found within the rest of the fruit.0

I shave them with a razor, sometimes i use wax or lasers to remove the hair. it depends on my mood.0
-
I eat the whole kiwi, skin and all..nothing weird about it.0
-
My boss eats the skin, I don't.0
-
I cut the kiwi in half,
and scoop out the inside with a spoon.
I do this too. I love Kiwi fruit. But no thanks to the hair.0 -
I eat kiwis like peaches. Always have. I *like* contrasting textures in my food though. Just 1 texture is a little tame.0
-
just put the whole thing in an chew?0
-
I was taught to eat it skin and all, that way you get the mouth wake up call with the delectable sweet and that sour faced sourness...0

Lots of fiber in the skin... I still don't enjoy the texture enough to eat it0
-
I always eat the skin. Nothing wrong with it! it's like a peach, but green!0
-
Eew. No, I do not eat the skin. Gag.0
-
Yuk, no hairy fruit skin for me. My hubby even wants the skin of a peach de-fuzzed or peeled.0
-
I've never heard of anyone leaving the skin on it. I cut each end off with a knife, put a spoon in it and scoop it out - it peels itself that way, no mess, and really quick.0
-
I'll eat the skin as long as it has no hair on it. I don't like eating furry things.0
-
Ooooooooooooh i love me some Kiwi.....but it has to be hard...and peeled, then I gotsta add some salt to it.0
-
Both of you are right. I have had them both ways and either is fine. quite often the most vitamins are in the skins of fruits.0
-
his preference can only be good news for you in the bedroom.0
-
ew, u take the skin off!0
-
Hmmm... Had never actually thought about eating the skin... I guess it's the same with mangos - few people bother eating the skin, which I do (as long as it's quite ripe). Will give it a go next time since kiwi peeling is a PITA and pretty messy. If I can eat it without peeling, that's great!0
-
He eats the skin? But it's hairy?:frown:
I eat the skin, but I slice the kiwi first so that no single bit has too much skin.0
