I want to call myself curvy

I don't think curvy is a necessarily good or bad thing. It's a body type that can apply to you regardless of your size. To me, curvy just means an hourglass type figure and that hourglass can be big or small. I am curvy now, and was 20 lb ago.
So I agree with the OP that it shouldn't be synonymous with fat or overweight, and it seems to be. But I also don't think that being overweight precludes someone from being curvy.0 -
Okay? So what if they have? What's your point? And who cares? What does that have to do with you? If you feel you're curvy you are, just like if they feel they're curvy they are. Curviness comes in all weights and heights. No, but it makes no sense to sit and talk about how other people DEFINE their BODIES. Worry about your body and support others. Who cares if someone 200lbs calls themselves curvy. What does it have to do with you? Or anything else for that matter?
Did you not read the OP? I can't call myself curvy because in today's world it means fat, because fat people have taken it and ran with it.
I care... which is why I posted. Keep up sunshine!
Claro...Estoy tan contenta de que ella se preocupa por mi cuerpo. SMH.
Next time, grow a pair and say it in English. Some of us do speak Spanish, just an FYI.
And those that don't either speak another romance language and can pick it out or use Google Translator...0 -
Yeah because how other people define themselves should totally affect how you define yourself.:drinker: Here's to insecurity no matter what your size or shape!Yeah, that's totally what I got out of this post- that the OP is insecure. :huh:Me too. So sad.
Um, this makes me laugh. I am not insecure in the least ANYMORE.
And the last time I checked........speaking the truth is not giving someone a brow beating or a beat down.
I am not the only one that sees her insecurities and baits for compliments. I got several messages from others saying how they like my attitude and speaking the truth.
ETA.............I am not one that is afraid to speak my mind, either in public or on the internet.
Why do you have to justify your silly opinions by saying 'Oh my husband agrees with me' or 'Several other people agree'???... You can find other idiots to agree with you anywhere. Several people disagree also. Now kindly grow up! *ignore user*0 -
Wow!!! I just finished catching up and all I have to say is "click the red box! click the red box! It's got an x in it and it's in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Before you explode"....
Some people take things WAY too seriously around here.0 -

Urban Dictionary: curvy
1. curvy. A woman with a shapely figure, generally well-defined waist, and fairly large butt and boobs compared to the rest of her body.
Doesn't specify a weight range. I may not be a skinny minnie, but I definitely have large boobs and butt in comparison to my waist.0 -
im more of a "statuesque" girl
stat·u·esque

90% of the time when someone describes themselves as curvy I want to say:
It seems we've gotten far away from what curvy actually is.
^^haha! but its so true0 -

So what I have gathered from this post is that there are 2 camps.
1. 'Curvy' girls that don't want to be called fat.
2. 'Fat' girls that dont want to be called fat.
Am I close?0 -

Big boobs, small waist, big hips.

Fat is fat. I have fat. I have been fat. I eat fat.
I AM smart, hot and beautiful.0 -
I have prepared an illustration for this topic. Which body shape is "curvy"?

i was really obese but am slowly geting more confident but hate it how my boobs make me look bigger0

I am fat and I don't feel bad about myself... words only have about as much weight behind them as you allow them to have... fat is an adjective... a descriptive... just like curvy is... that doesn't mean they are synonymous with each other.... Just because you (in general) want to feel better about yourself by calling yourself something more desirable doesn't mean that is what you really are.
I am fat and borderline obese (I have been hanging out on that cusp for way too long now)... It may describe how I look, but it's not who I am... I am short and I am fat.... I can't do anything about the former but I can the latter....
People calling themselves more acceptible things to feel better about themselves are only lying to themselves.... Can I say 'themselves' one more time?
Again, I am fat, I am obese and I am short... I own it... now I want to kick the fat and obese part to the curb with the trash where it belongs.0 -

I think curvy implies overweight0

u do look good
Thank you. I've worked very hard.0 -
I agree! Curvy should mean Marilyn Monroe-ish not Adele-ish. Not judging, I think Adele is stunning, but she's overweight not curvy.0
