I am 5'8" and I decided on April 30th of this year I needed to change. I wasn't happy with my self or my life and somehow I woke up and decided to make a change. My starting weight was 202 today I am at 173.8 I have almost hit the 30lb mark and I have never felt better. I have never been able to stick with anything this long and I do have to say MFP has been a huge factor in that. I do not have any recent photos but I will upload the ones I have.
I wish I had noted the weights at the time but I have learned that weight is not always the indicator for progress. Camparison photos really let you see the changes in your body that you can't see day to day.[img][/img]
Feel free to add me if you would like.0 -

It's absolutely incredible how we all hold out weight so differently
muscle mass changes a lot too
At 17 I was 58kg (130lbs) and an Aus size 8-10, After my first child at 18 I bounced between 62-65kg (136-143lbs) and a size 12 - 14 Aus, I gained the rest of my weight after my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. At 30 and my current 73kg (161lbs) I am an Aus size 10 - 12. I have a lot more muscle mass than I ever had and even though I am still a little squishy, I am in a healthy BMI, my measurements are smaller than they were the last time I was this weight at 25 years old and I wear smaller clothes than I did last time I was this weight too.
My body composition has changed a lot in the last year, my original goal weight was 65kg (143lbs) but I put it up when i noticed how much my body was changing for the better by incorporating more bodyweight exercises rather than normal cardio, now than I am mainly doing weights I only weigh once a month and just take notice of my measurements. In 6 months time I'll take another progress pic and compare it I don't expect my weight to change much in that time but I know how my body looks will.0 -
Alright I am going to try this again and hopefully the pictures will show up...0

Ok... I give up. They are there in my album and I haven't moved them so I have not idea what is going on. Sorry.0

I'm 5'8-ish, and I started out at 189. I'm at 157 now, but my last progress photo is of 170, I believe.
I can't put them on the thread without making them way too gigantic for you to tell it's a human being, so I'll just be lame ans ask you to look on my profile to see the photos0 -
Hey,
I'm 5'9
Starting weight: 272 lbs (the day I gave birth to my daughter (almost 2 years ago)
Current weight: 218 lbs
Mini goal: to get under 200 lbs
Big final goal: 170
Feel free to add me as your friend and view my profile...I have a few pics there!0 -
I love this thread - thank you all!:flowerforyou:
I am 172cm, which is a hiccup under the 5'8" I have claimed my entire life until my 5'10" daughter put me right.
My weight has yo-yo'd over the years - from 130lbs when I got married (but that was down to pre-wedding jitters!); 148lbs after 1st daughter; 140lbs after 2nd daughter and a "no more pregancies/my family is complete" induced period of manic exercise!
However these were the glory days.
I have now been between 190 and 217lbs for the last 3 years.
SW: 204
CW: 189
GW: I want to get to 154lbs for my 50th birthday in August 2013.
My goal is to lose 1lb a week in the hope that if I take my time about it, over the year I will make the lifestyle changes necessary to maintain - no more yo-yoing PLEASE!
I am also restricting myself to a monthly weigh in as I tend to get a bit obsessive otherwise.
Please feel free to add me as a friend and perhaps I will work up enough courage to stop hiding behind my daughter's cute pug and put my own profile photo up. :blushing:0 -

LOVING this thread!!! Especially since there have been responses from people who are over 30!! I can identify with someone closer to 40 though. It's a lot different losing weight and getting fit when you are 40 than it is when you are 20 or 25. SO sad but true!!!
I have found a few new friends from this thread also. Love it!
