You get awarded a lot more calorie burn for hiking. Is it hiking if I walk on the dirt/grass next to the sidewalk? :laugh:
I only call it hiking if I'm on a wilderness trail. But sometimes the extra burn seems unearned.0 -

I'm having a really rough mid-October. I came down with a respiratory infection on 10/15... right on the eve of my 15th wedding anniversary and the special trip we had long been planning. Over the next few days, I pushed myself to 'enjoy' our trip, but just ended up sicker. Finally, I forced myself to take some real rest on Sunday and Monday. I feel a bit better, but even walking is wearing me out. I get so fatigued and winded. I think it's going to take me a while to feel completely back to normal. :sick:
I guess my average is still 12,278, so maybe I shouldn't be that hard on myself?0 -

The trails in the woods usually have more rocks and hills than the sidewalks around my house.
I will def try try the grass for a calorie bump on my next walk0 -
